Overpriced not very good Mexican

by katsea

Went for dinner at Los Dos Molinos with a group of five. Four of us were drinking the "Ulimate Margaritas" at $17/gl as a group we had 12 total. They're good but not $17 good. We ordered the nachos which were basically tortilla chips with spicy chili topped with cheese. I wouldn't call these nachos. Go to Mexican Radio if you want great Nachos. We also had their guacamole, which was flavorless. Rosa Mexican and Dos Caminos have much better guac. It tasted like chopped salted avocado and not much more than that. I had the green chili enchilada which was fine but nothing special. Whatever you do, check you bill and be careful when asking for sides of anything because you get charged between $3-$7 for the small stuff. Nothing is itemized on the check and they overcharged our group and added gratuity without telling us. It does say on the menu that 18% gratuity will be added to your group of 6 or more but we were 5 and would have left 20% if we had been informed of the added gratuity. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere unless you want bland but spicy overpriced New York Mexican food. I've been peeing from my butt all day and believe me, it's just as spicy coming out.

  • Pros: good margaritas
  • Cons: confusing check, food makes you pee from your butt

Nice and spicy

by trimiami

I really liked this place, too bad it's gotten a lot of bad reviews. I went in december and the christmas decorations were great. It was a small very busy place, with busy decor, I loved it. I didn't mind the wait cause the margaritas are great to have while you wait. If you like spicy you'll love this place. The food was great, good spicyness. I didn't see a problem with the service.

  • Pros: food, decor, margaritas

MY FAVORITE DINNER SPOT IS NOW OPEN FOR HAPPY HOUR!!!!!

by PeterAZ603

I've been going into Los Dos for dinner for a while now and was hoping they would have happy hour because as you know everyones counting pennies nowadays and although I love their food and margs. It can get kind of pricey.....now I can go in during the week with friends (and I don't have to wait an hour to be seated). Tuesday through Friday 5-7pm and for 7 bucks I can get a small margarita (their small usually go for 11 or a draft beer for 4 and bottle beers for 5. I can enjoy a nice spicy pizza for 7 bucks have drinks and it doesn't hurt the pocket too much... Just don't tell too many people this is between you and me.

BIGNAVS IS A COMPLETE A$$CLOWN

by DabuttahNutz

Normally I stick with what I know: breeding unicorns and salsa dancing on the moon. However, I feel the urge to comment on the user BIGNAVS. The review shows you what happens when you allow a sexual deviant access to a computer with a working internet connection. No doubt he has never visited the establishment rather choosing to live in a wind ravaged Florida trailer park settlement. Cool for you bro. I only ask that you never ever again set foot in Los Dos Melinos. You stink it up with your perversion and pine tree cologne. Nobody is interested in your Taco Bell tasting lollipops and other busted a$$ treats there. If I see you there I will earn a free Ultimate Margarita by snuffing your life out with nothing more than a smoking hot plate of nachos and sheer will power. Afterwards I will steal a police horse and drag your lifeless corpse down Park Ave, enjoying the spontaneous ticker tape parade that allows seems to happen when I do such civil acts of leadership. Odds are they will probably rename Parke Ave and call it DaButtah Drive. I'll get the Key to the City as well. I remind you that you brought this on yourself. No bl00d shall be on my hands. And to think you could have just downloaded some more pictures of lil babies and shoved a dirty chalupa up your a$$. Burn in enternal d@mnation you SOB.

  • Pros: Best food in the known United States and Africa
  • Cons: A sure way to snuff your life out for bad reviews

HORRIBLE! OVERPRICED! STAY AWAY

by bignavs

Do your self a favor and cross this one off your list.

I just spent $25 dollars on a

1. cheese enchilada plate (just one small cheese enchillada). Are you kidding me! Small and the sauce was spicy but had no flavor!

2. a side of rice and beans was $7 (boiled rice with no flavor and runny beans) slapped on a dirty plate!

Left hungry and extremely disappointed!

I can go to any decent mexican restaurant and get 2 (much larger) cheese enchiladas with flavorful rice and solid beans for about $12 at a chain and $15 at a standalone.

Even Taco Bell is far superior!

Would have loved to try the Margarittas - but $12-$14 for a glass and a fortune for a pitcher!!

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Tiny serving of spicy yet unflavorful food for a fortune!

SUPERB MEXICAN FOOD! AND DRINKS!!!!

by elledriver2008

I love going here for lunch. The menu is wonderful and the margeritas are out of this world! The service is always the best and if you want to modify or substitute anything on the menu they are also very accomodating. This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant by far and I will continue dropping in. They also have a very lively night life with happy hour.

  • Pros: SUPERB FOOD & DRINKS EXCELLENT SERVICE
  • Cons: CLOSED MONDAYS DURING THE DAY

2 types of food (TOO HOT AND TOO BLAND ) and 1 type of service (BAD)

by beauty718

this place has two types of food. Way too spicy and way too bland. we had the taco salads with beef bc they were supposed to be more flavorfult han the taco salads with chicken. It tasted like they didnt put a bit of seasoning on the food. I cant imagine what the chicken would have tasted like. The waiter took our order with hsi back to us, and split his attention 60/40 . 60 to the other tables making sure they were okay and 40 to us waiting on us to order. the service was inattentive and rushed and . this woman kept coming around asking if she could take our food from us when we were celarly not finished, like she wanted us to leave. the waiter did not come by once to see if we were okay with our food. I was NOT PLEASED with this restaurant. on a 1-10 it is in the negative zone. dont do it! p.s. they dont have hot water in the bathroom to top it off

  • Pros: cozy atmosphere, but it is borderline Cramped
  • Cons: poor service and bland food

New Yorkers BEWARE!! BAD BAD BAD example of New Mexican food!!

by TalulaP

This was a HUGE disappointment. I am originally from New Mexico so I was really excited to try this place. First, I have to say that a one corn tortilla enchilada plate for 20 bucks would NEVER fly in New Mexico. It would be sent back! The spicy spaghetti sauce they call red chili was terrible and it?s really hard to mess up chili pods, salt, garlic and water. They don't add any meat to their green chili and you might as well just buy the canned hatch green chilies from Whole Foods because it's basically the same thing. These owners should be ashamed of themselves for representing the fantastic cuisine that comes from New Mexico. One of our greatest prides in New Mexico is our chili. They are RIPPING New Yorkers off! If you are from New Mexico and you still try this restaurant.....don't say you were not warned. :)

  • Pros: The iced tea
  • Cons: Food and Price

Great food and margaritas but check you bill closely...

by NYCFood1

I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times and think the food, margaritas, and atmosphere are great. However, on at least two occasions I had to dispute the bill. The first time I was eating there with a large party and the bill had 4 to 5 extra margaritas on it. When we disputed the extra drinks the waiter took them off immediately. The second time our bill had an extra $200 on it. When we asked our waitress about the extra $200 she said that it was suppose to be $20. The only problem was we did not order anything that cost $20. The manager ended up taking the $200 off our bill and some extra for the "mix up". I think this place has some of the best Mexican food in NYC but would recommend checking your bill closely.

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!

by elsabean52

This is literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to, no joke. From the moment we walked into the door we were questioned numerous times about our commitment to order food, not just drinks. We were planning on ordering food, but they seemed doubtful for whatever reason. From our questions about the menu to our compliants regarding the lack of ANY alcohol in the $12 margarita, every member of the staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. I can't even imagine why this place is still in business. Save yourself the misery and go somewhere else!

  • Pros: Zero
  • Cons: Extremely Terrible Service, Bad Food, Horrible Drinks
