Until recently, I'd frequent the Tribeca Tavern for a few cocktails after work. Initially, it was a place of enjoyment- happy hour until 7 PM, great music selection and interesting people to chat with. However, happy hour is now from 5-6PM, and drinks are ridiculously overpriced (I was charged $9 for a watered down Jameson's). Mixed drinks are $8 and up; beer is $5 & up. The internet jukebox is constantly taken over by the Cheech Marin looking bartender, who loads it with tons of country music (if you're into country music, then this is the place for you). Once a place for young professionals to unwind after work, its now the gathering place for barely legal college students (The Art Institute is a few blocks away). The service has gone downhill. The wait time for a drink is about 20 minutes, which is partially due to the sophomoric "Cheech" wannabe bartender, who spends more time gossiping vociferously about every patron, than he does pouring a drink. Despite the neon sign screaming "Eath & Drink" lunch has only recently made an appearance, being served from 12-3 PM. The food is typical pub food. Want a hot meal? Go someplace else. If you're looking for drama, overpriced drinks & gossip, well then this is the place for you . If not, and you're just looking to unwind- skip this place. There are a few places around the vicinity I'd check out instead.
- Pros: Wide beer selection
- Cons: over priced; pretentious gossiping bartender
recession proof

In a time where money is low so are these prices. The happy hour is exceptional. pitchers are only $10. For a pretentious downtown area this bar retains a exceptional beer list and a great food menu for very moderate prices. The staff is fast and friendly. The crowd was very diversified, made you feel right at home. One of the best beer selections in NYC. Also one of the only places that serves food past 2am.
- Pros: Beer list and friendly staff
- Cons: small bathroom
Horrible food, good beer selection, lousy staff

I admit it was a busy happy hour....but we were served our food and the server never came back... the fries were cold, sandwiches mediocre and overpriced. Beer selection good but not exceptional for NYC... i wouldn't recommend anyone order anything but beer...
- Pros: beer selection
- Cons: food is horrible and overpriced
Good substitute to pretentious, unfriendly and overpriced Brandy "Library"
by JoeMamma at Citysearch
After being kicked out from pretentious and pricey Brandy Library (my bankers, lawyers and media friends werent "cool" enough to be served drinks unless they post $500), we went to this place. The service was friendly, seats comfortable, nice outdoor view, and great selection of beers from Belgium to Brooklyn... We can't wait to go for the next happy hour
- Pros: Lounge, Price
- Cons: None
great selection and atmosphere

The beer selection here is excellent. Not only can you get fancy seasonals and IPAs here for the cheap, but you can switch it up with the delectable lower end beers such as PBR as well. Don't discount that this place also has a fantastic selection of liquor and cocktails. The atmosphere is great and the space is roomy and relaxing. This tavern has it all, even sports on tv. One of the best places to grab a drink in NYC.
- Pros: beer selection, cost, atmosphere
- Cons: tribeca is a ghost town

This no-frills downtown bar specializes in beer with 18 drafts on tap and more than 70 more foreign and domestic brand by the bottle to chose from.
Great Happy Hour
by punky21 at Citysearch
I met a few friends at Tribeca Tavern on a Thursday night for happy hour. The staff was incredibly friendly. They had $3 Yuengling and PBR drafts and domestic bottles. There is plenty of room for a small crowd of people with tables along the sides and a pool table on one end. I'll be back...
- Pros: happy hour, friendly staff and plenty of space
- Cons: narrow
awesome atmosphere

Just moved to Tribeca from uptown and this place is great. Met up with a few friends and make a point to visit usually once a week. Go here if you're tired of payin $15 for a beer at those trendy places. But leave the trend at home. This bar is made for people who like to be themselves.
- Pros: $10 PBR pitchers

My friend and I are from Dallas and found this place when we hit NY 2 years ago. We eended up there 3 nights in a row and had a blast. Great staff (Sal is awesome), great food, just a really fun place to hang out. Can't wait to go back again, and have recommended it to all our friends.
late night fun at tribeca tavern
by wasteful27 at Citysearch
I stumbled upon this place at 3 in the morning, i was looking for a place to get a bite to eat and tribeca tavern was the only place that was open. Not only was the bar and kitchen open but it was still buzzing with people. They also had an enormous selection of beer to choose from, it was hard to choose what to drink but i wanted to try something different so I had a sea dog bluberry ale. I highly reccomend this place to anybody who is looking to have some late night fun.
- Pros: friendly people
- Cons: none
