Better than most

by VeeVee

I like this place because it is not like the other places which can be really crowded. The waiters friendly and we didn't wait forever to get our food. And you can get dim sum late whereas some traditional places don't serve it after a certain time.

  • Pros: Friendly staff, good dim sum
  • Cons: none really

Great Dim Sum!

by hubriis

Let me preface this review by saying that I am a dim sum novice, and that while I really enjoyed the dumplings, it's not a food I will most likely seek out much in the future.

We tried Dim Sum Go Go with a group and had a great time..it was around Chinese New Year and the dragons were out and about, blessing shops and Dim Sum Go Go was one of the spots the dragons stopped. We tried several dumplings but the standouts for me were the crab meat and the chives and shrimp dumplings - delicious!

They offered great service and if I am ever in the mood for dim sum, I will head back to Dim Sum Go Go.

Overpriced & Mediocre, Good for Late Day Dim Sum Craving ONLY

by changmino200

If you are Chinese, I would pass on ever considering this place. After years of reviews complimenting this place, we finally thought to check it out. The dim sum is very good and great that you can have it late in the day. But, all the other food was mediocre at best. Even the white rice left a lot to be desired, it seemed barely warm and we had to ask for it three times. The service was terrible although I saw a lot of fawning over the tourists. I will never go again and I will not recommend it to anyone. Anywhere else in Chinatown would offer you a better meal.

  • Pros: Dim sum at night
  • Cons: Terrible other food and service

No Go Go for me

by chocoholic214

We ended up here on a Sunday at 11:30am after friends from out of town saw this place on a bus tour and wanted to give it a try. Yes, this place is definitly for tourists. Modern and sleek decor with no cart service. No, we weren't expected to be treated like royalty, and we know how some restaurants are just no frills, but even factoring that in, the customer service was still bad. A waiter was passing around small plates of eggplant stuffed with some seafood mix, and when we asked what it was, he said, "I don't know." We took it anyway becasue we were starving, but that same guy ended up being our waitor. Very slow and unattentive. It took about 20 to 25 minutes to get our dim sum, seafood and pan fried noodles. All tasted fresh and were steaming hot. The bill came out to about $120 for 7 people (that includes 6 orders of siu mai, drinks & noodle soup). You may have a better experience depending on your waitor, but our waiter, and another person with a DIM SUM GO GO shirt on were both unhelpful and seemed annoyed every time we asked a question. This place is definitly not traditional, so if you are looking for a place where the locals go, no go go here.

  • Pros: Dim Sum was hot and fresh
  • Cons: Customer Service

Would not go again.

by mj_nyc

I was born and raised in Chinatown, not far from this restaurant at all. However, this was my first time at this place! I can't say the dim sum was good here. First of all, just by looking into the restaurant, you can tell this place was for tourists. You won't find many locals eating here. It was hot when I walked into the restaurant. There were many waiters standing around but none of them initiated services (refilling tea) without you waving an arm for their attention. The dim sum, very small portions. Taste was average - I have had better, say across the street. Price, expensive, and then very expensive for dinner (they charge different prices for dinner). Anything off the dim sum menu was not appealing. I know my dim-sum and I know I won't be coming back!

  • Pros: The name of the restaurant gets the tourists.
  • Cons: Small portions, expensive.

When there for lunch. Great Dim Sum that's totally different from the traditional. But service needs improvement. Go there and try them out.

Best Dim Sum outside of China

by van555

Great dim sum especially the steamed roast pork bun and snow pea leaf dumpling. The dim sum here actually taste like what they are supposed to be. Unlike the generic shrimp dumpling you get at other restaurants no matter what you order. Must get there before 12 on weekend as it is usually packed

  • Pros: dim sum
  • Cons: long lines, the non-dimsum menu isn't that great

The best dim sum in Chinatown

by nyc1234567890

This place is hands down the best dim sum in Chinatown. Even better than some dim sum that I've had in Hong Kong! The bad review below sounds like it was written by someone who works at one of those sketchy, not very good, other places. The only downside is a long wait, but it's worth it!

  • Pros: Great food and great service
  • Cons: Long waits

worst dimsum.

by searchio

The dumplings are the most tasteless, smallest thing I have ever had in China Town; and the chicken feet... is the worst. Don't go there for the overated "top 20" NYC resaurant list (which I did...) So not worth it. Personally I think it's more friendlier to people who's afraid of the real Chinese food 'cuase they listed all the food on their menu with comprehansive names. Golden Un.icorn or sketchy Oriental Garden on Elizabeth street is much better. Be advanturous, please.
