Check your credit card statement for overcharges!

by Closet Envy

It's unfortunate that I have to give this restaurant such a bad rating as the dining experience was fine - tasty brunch, good ambiance & nice interior. Didn't have a problem with the restaurant until I received my credit card statement. Basically, the statement showed an overcharge tip of $25 for a $40 meal. I called the credit card company immediately & they informed me that it is the restaurant that actually inputs this information. Now I wonder how often this restaurant makes these "errors". Left a message with the restaurant & still waiting for a return call...very disappointing and also wonder if I was just one of the victims of their scams. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was a genuine accident, however, their non-response convinces me otherwise. I wanted to go back to try their dinner but since they couldn't even bother to call to apologize, it only proves to me they could care less and at this point, I won't be returning. It's a shame that they practice such unethical behavior and don't even take the initiative to quickly remedy the problem.

  • Pros: Decor, spacious, brunch
  • Cons: Unethical behavior

This place is Terrible

by SI10312

The atmosphere was nice as the night when on after we ate and drank a rodent ran out right next to where we were sitting. We went to the manager and told him and he did not apologize nor did he remove anything from the bill. He acted as if this was normal.Besides that the service was slow and the food and drinks are over priced and just the fact that they did not even aplogize...I would not reccomend this place. NYC has sooo many other nicer places to go to.

  • Cons: pests, poor service

B&T Crowd

by shert

B&T crowd comes in since it's right next to entry points into the city. If you live in the city it's not exactly the easiest place to get to, you have to cab it.

  • Pros: Nice layout
  • Cons: B&T crowd, location

overcharged with no resolution

by fiona631

We ate dinner here a couple of weeks ago with my sister and her husband. The food was decent, but service was slow, especially considering that they weren't busy at all. Plus, the restaurant was very cold. On top of that, I found out last week that they overcharged my credit card by $26, and have not returned multiple emails and phone calls regarding this. Needless to say, if you eat here, be sure to save your receipt!

Stay away

by jamie10

Walked up on a Saturday around 11pm. There was no line. Girls were being turned away if they wearing flip-flops. Are you kidding me? It's mid August. The annoying little door girl was enforcing this. Ended up going to Cabanas at the Maritime where we had a great time.

  • Pros: decor
  • Cons: obnoxious door girl

TERRIBLE - not what it used to be

by randyy

One of my friends got assaulted, and management refused to help - they tried to pretend that there was no assault at all! Some African American male named Brian or David, and some ugly chick at the front door - they are insufferable, rude, obnoxious, and incompetent people.

Drinks are expensive and small, and not mixed correctly. Crowd is decidely B&T, mostly South Asians and other Asians. Lot of short guys thinking they're hot stuff. Music sounds like they just tuned the radio to Z100. Too hot upstairs, and I saw fights/shoving with security doing nothing. ugh, what happened to this place, is it under new management?

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This is my first review and I created an account specifically to warn people not to give this place any business. At least there was no line, but there's obviously a reason for that.

  • Pros: nothing
  • Cons: management, small drinks, crowd

Disappointing

by g2009

My husband and I ate at The Park recently. We were drawn by the beautiful garden and the location--right off of the new Highline Park.

The atmosphere was wonderful--obviously someone has put a lot of time and effort into every detail of the design of this restaurant. Wish I could say the same for the food and service! The food was really overpriced for the quality (and we were charged more for one item than was listed on the menu). And although everyone (servers, management, bussers, etc.) was pleasant and well-intentioned, they DID NOT have it together. Both my husband and I have worked in this industry and we are more than forgiving as guests, but the list of things that went off during our meal was astounding, from a med-rare steak that came out well done, to timing (drinks, bread, ordering) slow and off throughout--to having what we needed (like silverware), almost every little thing that could have gone wrong did. What's more, we watched in amusement as every time the food runners brought out the food, they went from table to table to find out whose it was...

Maybe we just came on an off day? This place has great potential to be much better than what we experienced!

Ridiculous tactics....

by greedysmurf

Basically, I ate here twice. The second time I had brought my mother here for her birthday and the experience was actually quite nice. My mother then took my father to the restaurant a while after. When they came in, they were seated in the general area. My mother asked if they could sit by the fireplace and was told no at first, but then was told ok by the waitress. After they moved and placed an order, they were told by the waitress that their credit card would have to be physically held along with their ID. They were disgusted, paid for what they had already ate and left. Why would you allow someone to sit in an area that would have these requirements and not tell them before they were moved there. I mean these were not 20 somethings, they were my parents 55 years old and up. COME ON!! They were told by the waitress that the cards and id were held because "People skip out on the bill". That was ridiculous.

  • Pros: Nice decor...
  • Cons: Horrible waitstaff and restaurant behavior...

WATCH OUT FOR WORMS IN YOUR FOOD!

by MaoZedong

Ate Easter Brunch at the park today. Not only was there a LIVE WORM in my salad, but the general manager was completely unapologetic and admitted that it "happens sometimes."

The service was extremely slow - we were there for over 2 hours - and we were automatically charged 20% gratuity DESPITE THE WORM. Completely unacceptable.

Food average at best.

Look out for insects. Not recommended.

  • Pros: Decor is ok
  • Cons: There was a LIVE WORM in my salad; terrible service
