REVIEW FROM CITYSEARCH's 3BUCKBITES DICTATOR
by LingboLi
One of my pet peeves is falafel made out of spiced sawdust. Off Bleecker Street, I found falafel that victoriously avoided this by being moist and green on the inside, delightfully crunchy and brown on the outside. Tossed together with some tahini and tomatoes and sold for a mere 2 bucks and 2 quarters, my only regret is that tomatoes are not in season. Maybe next time.
amazing

How can you not like this place. These sandwiches are amazing. I love the chicken kabob sandwiches, and this is the only falafel place whose hot sauce is actually hot
- Pros: chicken kabob sandwhiches
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
gem in the Village
by giocomo
This place is fantastic for quick, inexpensive food that is fun and tastes good. They always seem busy and the prices are great. Unfortunately, it's difficult to sit down, but if you're on the run it doesn't matter. I've tried multiple menu items and have enjoyed everything I've tried here, including the baklava.
- Pros: inexpensive, food quality
- Cons: no space to sit
Love this hot sauce
by Gabe0286
This place is always amazing, when I am in the 'hood I love to come here and grab two chicken kabob sandwiches and dump all that mouth water spicy spicy hot sauce all over it. I wish they would have one in Midtown.
Don't miss this one. Best falafel at a great price will always keep you going back.

This place is a staple to the Village! I hear people speak of the lines in this small takeout restaurant. There are only a few tables to be had or maybe a bench or set of steps outside but wherever you find space it is always worth the short wait. It seems that they have it down to a science where they keep the customer happy. It seems like they keep moving this line along at an incredible and friendly speed. I overheard this lady say upon one visit that this was a good meal and as I thought to myself ?where else can you eat dinner as good as this for $2.50?
I will always make Mamoun?s one of my stops when strolling through the village and I suggest that if you have not tried it, then it?s time to give it a try. You won?t be sorry.
- Pros: Great Food, Fast Service, and a price that can't be beat
- Cons: Very little seating, but that is OK because that is what makes it what it is!
really the best

i work in mamoun's now...i have worked at many places in the city but i see that this place is really different. and special..some people may think that they are using low quality ingredients to produce the 2.50 falafels..but guess what,,all are grade A...that's why mamoun's last till now..

Best Falafel in NYC
by sethids
I have been eating falafel for many years, and have tried too many restaurants (in too many cities) to keep count. Mamoun's is consistently at the top of my list, and the BEST in NYC for sure. Two bucks. Take someone and impress.
Great Falafel, Easy On The Wallet
by cobraman332
Mamoun's is the perfect snack spot. The falafel and other assorted Middle Eastern snacks are all very cheap and despite the grimy atmosphere and tiny interior space, Mamoun's is still my #1 pick for falafel when I am in the area. I wouldn't travel far to get here but if I'm in the Village I always have to stop in for a quick bite. The best thing about Mamoun's is that it is open really late so even after leaving one of the bars in the area there is a cheap, delicious snack just a few blocks away at most. The one downside... cash only... but with such cheap falafel and snacks, that's usually not a problem.
- Pros: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, Delicious Falafel and Middle Eastern Food, Quick Service
- Cons: Tiny Space, Grimy
Still going strong
by chefinblue
With so many eateries going the way of gone thanks to the explosion of the pricey highrises it's great when places like Mamoun's are still going strong. I don't want to date myself and say how long I've been enjoying their fried-to-order falafel, but it's been a mighty long time! So for cheap, realiable, delicious eats when your out on the town or just walking by this place still can't be beat!
- Pros: Cheap, hot, consistant
- Cons: More seating would be nice but who are we kidding, that's never going to happen!
