A homey restaruant I'll always go back to

by shamime714 at Citysearch

This place is very friendly and very CLEAN(rare for Chinatown)!

I'm from Taiwan and I feel at home here. No Chinatown-bad-attitudes. The food is authentically made Taiwanese. I recommend trying the 8 Treasure Ice for dessert!

Love my pork chop...

by pfdavidson at Citysearch

Let me tell you there are two good Pork Chop places in Chinatown. This is definitely one of them. Not the most elaborate dishes, but the food tastes good and it is very affordable. It definitely isn't "fine dinning" but when it come to taste, I'm all over this one.

Cheap Taiwanese!

by kawiline at Citysearch

I brought my whole family to this small restaurant on Lunar New Year and despite the crowd, we were seated quickly and the food was delicious! The best bubble tea I've had in New York City and very authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The whole meal came to $40.00 with tip for 5 people!

Terrific Taiwanese

by b00pi3flak3s at Citysearch

Excellent Taiwanese style pork chops have made Excellent Pork Chop House a Chinatown favorite. While they still only accept cash and have probably some of the most bland decor ever, it serves its purpose for cheap eats and good food. They even have a picture menu for those who don't know what they're ordering. Now thats "excellent."

  • Pros: Food, Service, Photobook
  • Cons: Location, Cash Only

Good food, cheap price

by wilson_lu at Citysearch

If you are in Chinatown, and you are hungary for some Authentic Taiwanese street food for cheap price, this place is it. In addition to the pork chop or chicken leg over rice, be sure to check out their very good lomein noodles. Can't go wrong with that cheap price, either.

  • Pros: food, price, speedy service

A bargain-priced Taiwanese soul food joint that delivers precisely what it promises.

The Excellent Pork Chop House may be downscale, but it isn't a dive: While everything is unapologetically economical (fluorescents, linoleum, Styrofoam), it's also spotless, cheerful and user-friendly. A photo album of the dishes makes ordering a breeze, even for neophytes. The pork chop, as advertised, is excellent. Lightly coated with spices, greaselessly fried and juicy, the top-billed porcine delicacy shows up over rice, with a bowl of noodle soup or as a side dish. For starters, there's cold dishes like seaweed salad and pickled cucumbers, or branch out to a fried chicken leg or fish ball soup. For dessert, pick your own toppings for Taiwanese shaved ice--a kind of Asian Sno-Cone, covered with goodies.

Overated

by flimflam80 at Citysearch

You fellas above says its the best Taiwanese restaurant in town. However it is the ONLY Taiwanese restaurant in town. The food is okay and the prices here are mediocre. You can't say its cheap because food is cheaper in Chinatown. They're are better Taiwanese restaurants and they are located in Flushing, Queens.

A Pork Chop (over rice) Unrivaled

by level_ed at Citysearch

Try the namesake. I have been here 5 times and never ordered anything but the porkchop over rice. Plus, the display case along the back wall has some of the most authentic kitsch I have seen in C-town.
