Wowza. Think I just found a new salon.

Full disclosure -- I am very fond of the stylist I've been going to for the past two to three years, and I even followed her when she opened her own salon, but her location is fairly out of the way for me and, thus, I keep putting off appointments. So when I saw a Groupon Now for Alma G Salon, which is conveniently on my way home, I jumped at it.

I had a last-minute appointment with Yelena, and all I can say is that she is a natural. I have got a LOT of slightly wavy hair, and I was a stylist's worst nightmare -- I had no idea what I wanted. But Yelena assessed what length would look good on me, (wisely) suggested fringe, and expertly gave me layers, taking a ton of bulk out of my hair. Now I can let my hair air-dry and I love the look.

Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Even better, I did not get that off-putting "upscale" feeling from this upscale salon.

The only thing is that I did wait for about 35 minutes, but I can't really complain about that because that's what happens. It's like going to the doctor or flying somewhere; the later in the day it is, the more of a chance there will be a wait. So it goes.

I have rock star hair...in the best possible way!

if you can afford it, even once, try Alma G.

I arrived with a hair disaster, imposed by another "upscale" salon. Hair is ...my most important accessory, and I don't ordinarily pay up for it, even frequently coloring and even cutting my own. But I had an event to attend, was exhausted by the botch job and decided to give my self over to the experience. It is serene, service is impeccable, talent abounds. I have short hair, not Holly wood hair as so many of Alma's client's do, and I wasn't sure what she could do to make it exciting. I knew what I wanted, but others hadn't been able to grasp it, or were content with their cookie cutter routines. Well, I have to tell you, I look GORGEOUS, and that is the point, isn't it?

best hair cut ever

I love this place ,I love the people that work there ,while I get a hair cut I can finish my work in the chair and not worry what to say to Alma, about the look I want,and every moth I get a new look ,all my friends go to see her so I recommend you all.ps maritza has great hands, she gives me a long massage while she washes my hair.

Amazing Color, Pedicure and Massage!

I have long, straight brown hair and wanted a colorist who would give me blond highlights, without brassy. Nina does a beautiful job and every time, I love the results. If you are looking for fantastic blond highlights, book an appointment with Nina. Also, I recently started getting my pedicures from Maritiza, and from now on, I'm traveling the distance to see her. She does an incredible job. From start to finish, she pays attention to detail, takes her time and makes my feet feel and look wonderful. Trust me - add on a 15 minute shoulder massage from her at the end. It's heaven!

incredible color and style

I have been going to Alma to get my highlights and hair cut for 8 years now. She does amazing work, Alma is so talented and really has a eye for what makes you look your best. She made me a blond 5 years ago and I wouldn't dream of ever turning back! And my color always looks so natural and healthy. Alma also does amazing up dos that look classy by with an edge. Very stylish!! I also get a facial at least once a month from Lordes, their facialist. She is amazing!! I always leave the Alma Salon looking my absolute best!

Best waxing salon I've been to!

This place is great! I wouldn't go anywhere else for waxing services. The service is excellent, and everyone is always so personable. Maritza is the best there is ! :)

As good as it gets

This salon is filled with excellent stylists . They offer terrific service and are very accommodating. The stylists have reinvigorated my look and appearance more than once. I can't recommend it enough. Everyone is lively, fun, astute and most professional.

Don't hesitate to go!

Best place in town for a beautiful color service!

I have been to many salons in Manhattan...some good experiences along with some bad ones. I came across The Alma salon and made a great decision by getting my services done there. My stylist was Krystina and she was absolutely amazing. She listened to me about my likes and dislikes and her consultation with me was very thorough. The end result was fabulous!!

I went in to the alma salon wanting a change and gave me some and better. Coming in with long brown hair I had grown tired of my look and wanted a change. Without hesitation she chopped my hair and made me a blonde. As a person with long thick hair whose spent many hours in salons dyeing it I've never seen someone work so fast. Had a glass of wine while getting done-up and was extremely happy with my results. I go to her every few weeks for a touch up and have been blonde ever since. I'll never go anywhere else.

I love this place

I get my haircut here all the time, I love this place! I wouldn't get my haircut anywere else. The staff are very friendly and welcoming they cut great hair and Lurdes gives the best facials. The best part about this place is that you can get everything done in one shot and by everything I mean a hircut a facial and a manicure/pedicure and believe me when I tell you this "they do an amazing job"!!!
