Awesome Brunch
by shotzjc
We stumbled (luckily) into Alias, because another favorite brunch spot was busy with a private event. A simple & quaint place. The food was AMAZING! I had the biscuits & gravy ? which I?ve not had in years! 2 other people in our party had the eggs benedict which were equally as delicious. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. A+ for the Bloody Marys! We?ll definitely be back. Thanks!
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: None
Great FOOD
by marshmyler
I can't wait to go back to Alias. In a city where you have so many choices that I feel guilty going somewhere twice, I will go this place again and again.
We did have a lovely evening, but it was mostly due to the amazing food and good wine. I love the fact that the menu has a few starters and then just one of every type of dish: one chicken, one meat, one fish, pasta etc.
I ordered the hanger steak to start and they were the best I've ever had. They were so meaty and cooked so perfectly that they melted in your mouth. I had the sea scallop and it was quite nice. I can't remember the ingredients, but it was cooked very well.. My friend had the pasta, and it was seriously perfect.
Our staff was so friendly , knowledgeable and attentive. I recommend to anyone.
Great food, awesome Sunday menu
by tsetsefly88
The prix fixe menu on Sunday is amazing. It offers more or less the same items as their regular menus, just no tacos or burgers. I had the pork chop (yum!). Great laidback atmosphere with warm colors in the restaruant. Would definitely come back again.
- Pros: Prix Fixe menu
- Cons: Sat in a drafty corner
Quality food plus imagination
by LeathaS
Going out to a nice resatuarant is usually a disapointment for me. I'm a good cook and can usually fix the food better and cheaper at home. But ALIAS is a big treat because they do it way better than I can. You better believe that I took notes on the salads, veggies , sides and appetizers. I can't begin to match their grilled stuff, no matter how I try. It was quality all around, the wine, the staff, the ease of the place. Everything made me smile. Go early. Leatha S
- Pros: The food is really good. It's a comfortable place to be.
- Cons: parking and hard to locate
Best Bodega in town.
by wellsd
It looks like a Bodega from the outside but the quality of the food inside is not from a deli for sure. I love the food. The menu has a few eclectic options but it also has mac and cheese and chicken and steak so there is something for everyone. The servers look like wanna be rock stars and unenthused but on the contrary, they are super nice and attentive. One of best of the LES.
- Pros: Delicious food.
- Cons: Not good for large groups, it's a small place.
Great Comfort Food on the LES
by jbowels
The menu is nothing remarkable, but really good quality comfort food with interesting twists on the norm. From the outside, the restaurant isn't overly inviting, but once you get in it is chic and quaint. Prices are very reasonable and our server was very attentive. Great for Brunch or for an inexpensive dinner.
- Pros: Price, Food,
- Cons: Gets Full Quickly
Great Brunch - Good Service
by crazydancergirl
Stopped by for brunch today and loved the food and service. Such a cute looking place. Server was very friendly and the food was a good value. Will definitely be back because brunch is often over priced and boring. This menu has a great southern feel in the heart of the LES
- Pros: Food, Service

Simple. Good.
by matildamatildamatilda
Sometimes you just want a simple, good, reasonably-priced meal. Alias is it. You can immediately see the attention they pay to their mostly local ingredients and it shines through in the understated, hit-the-spot American fare. Not only is the dinner consistently good, their brunch is a wonderfully relaxed experience with killer Bloody Mary's and all. And, of course, after your meal you're in the perfect neighborhood for some window shopping and people gawking...
- Pros: Good Food - Neighborhood
- Cons: Sometimes a wait
A Great Hidden Spot
by rfedock
I've been to Alias several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always absolutely delicious and the menu is ever changing for the seasons. Out of town company is always impressed and the prices are very reasonable. I can never finish an evening there with out having their Guieness Goodness. It sounds strange but it's a must try.
- Pros: Food, Guieness Goodness
- Cons: Service is a bit slow, you'll have a long wait on the weekend without a rez
a delightful little restaurant
by gizle
I had dinner here with my girlfriend recently and found it delightful - warm and cozy, with an inviting decor. The food was quite good also.
