Had a hard time cashing my Gift C and the women kept calling me terms of endearment!! Wierd....My massage was okay but it seemed alittle intense. It seemed like they were fighting. Far from calming down.

I went out the wrong door for my massage room and fell on to a pile of towels...lol....well most places keep the mess in the back ground so I just laughed it off. But the thing that grossed me out was that I saw a Canola COOKING OIL bottle. .....OMFG are the BEEOTCHES using cooking oil on me for a massage??!!!!? oh BTW the I could relax in the room, I keep hearing high heels outside and the music keep skipping...lol

Cons: cheap oil

Was having a stressful week and the therapists at Just Calm Down truly cured my woes both physicvally and mentally! I first had the Morroccan massage which I read about in New York Magazine. The writer was right on! It was completely decadent and well worth the wait. My knotted muscles are feeling limp and loving life! No more pain. I think my therapists name was Jenilin... I then had a facial that was incredible. Even the facial massage was brilliant. I ended my afternoon with a wine pedicure. My feet were drunk with pleasure! If your job is getting you down, go over to Just Calm Down and you will do just that.

Pros: wonderful massages,facial, pedicures

Cons: none

Never had a massage before with a male therapist and must say Jodan (spelling???) was out of this world. His spirituality mixed with his skill is the right combination...just go and see! Totally worth it!

Pros: Massage worth bragging about!

I guess it still surprises me to see that some people have nothing better to do than put down a former place of work. Where do they get the time?? I also am a former employee, (moved away) but I have nothing but good things to say about the spa. The management is ultra nice and always tried selling our skills to the clients, giving us the opportunity to developement our client base. The spa is very cute and chill with awesome services to boot.

Pros: creative services

Cons: ex-employees

Yo...........this stuff is Soooooo funny! LMBO.......people must be reading this and going "Wat the Heck"!! Its like one extreme or the other. Odviously a set up. Anyway, I'm not here to bash anyone. The spa has been open for 6 years and that says alot in it self. But the fact that there are odviously many very unhappy employees says alot also. We should all take time to LOOK AT OURSELF. If an event repeats itself, theres always a reason why. Oh BTW, I love my new Job=)

Pros: Great Staff

Cons: cleanliness

can't believe what a wonderfully quaint place this is. i bought my mother a gift certificate for her birthday so that we could share a spa day together. we were both really impressed with the adorable atmosphere. we are so not into those other places with the turned up noses and such! the front desk girl is quite lovley and extremely helpful. she explained the services so well that we were able to pin-point the exact services we wanted done before arriving. the massages were decadent, very warming and relaxing. after our facials, our skin felt 10 yrs younger. usually i run to apply make-up, but didn't need too. we then enjoyed very luxurious beachy pedicures. it was so much nicer sitting on a couch then the typical pedicure chairs. while we were there, we met a couple who have been celebrating their anniversary at the spa for the past five years. we thought it was so sweet. anyway, this place is truly a mecca in a busy city. even the gift certificates are personalized. so nice not to give an ordinary plastic card. just want to say thank you for the most peaceful and wonderful afternoon.

Pros: excellent services, beautiful space, sweet receptionist

Cons: zero

...I want to give you guys the real scoop on Just Calm Down. First, the positive: incredible massage therapists, talented estheticians and nail techs, truly accomodating manager. The staff there is friendly and well-trained (despite the chaos that goes on behind the scenes). Now, the negative: filth and grime everywhere. The spa has been open for 6 years and it appears it has never been cleaned. The beautiful pedicure tent in the back is covered in dust and stains. Footsteps of heel-wearing employees can be heard quite audibly inside the massage rooms, despite the music (which almost always skips) playing inside. The pedicure basins are lined with a viscous, sort of moldy residue, which I can only imagine is from improper cleaning of them after each service. The staff break room, if you can call it that, is smaller than my walk-in closet and is ridden with mousetraps. In addition, every review that has said that gift certificates aren't honored, is true. The unethical business practices at Just Calm Down are the main reason for my leaving. I understand that the previous business manager really mucked things up, but she has been gone for some time now, and it seems that business has just continued going downhill. My recommendation is to find another place to bring your business to.

Pros: Talented staff

Cons: Almost everything else

I've been going to Just Calm Down for awhile now thanks to my girlfriend. Being a guy I'm not really the spa type but their massages are for real. I play on a hockey league and massages are critical for me. This place is the only place I go to now. The staff is great too at making you feel really comfortable, especially recently. (back in the day there was some nasty tattoo chick at the front desk who used to always smoke outside and annoy me but the new one is chill) I've done some of the couples packages too with my girlfriend and we have had a great time. If you're a guy and need a good quality massage or you want to really impress your girl this is the place to go.

Pros: great massages, quality, hot staff

Cons: no sauna
