Absolute power is da bomb. Its da best gym if you just want to work out and not deal with any nonsense. At times da music is too loud but when you only pay $250 for a year what do you expect? The only negative is the staff. Miguel is the worst. He is really, really bad because his protein shakes are da worst. There are some fly ladies in the gym as well. Love it when the aerobics door is open. Anyways, join the gym. Its a good gym when the super hasnt closed it down.
Pros: Ladies
Cons: Miguel

Absolute power is generally a really good gym, especially for the price (which has been upped to $350 a year, but only if you pay it all up front). Cardio machines are top notch, and there is a wide variety of weight machines, free weights, etc. The locker room is pretty crappy, about half the lockers are busted in and the shower looks like it hasn't been cleaned. Ever. Needless to say I've never seen anyone shower there, and people who opt for lockers just bring a lock for while they are there, and take everything home with them (you can't leave anything in a locker overnight). There also aren't many options for stretching because the small aeorobics room is always in use by classes. Other than that it is a comfortable gym with a nice layout. TVs over the treadmills are nice. Most people seem to go there just to lift weights, so cardio machines are never crowded despite looking like they are all new machines.

Bare bones gym, nothing special, but it is pretty cheap. Bad news: Recently plays super loud bad techno music. So loud that it's impossible to listen to your personal music on ipod or walkman. Staff is really rude about turning the music down. It's too bad because we used to really like working out there.

Absolute Power provides its members fitness in a "cheers" like setting where everyone feels like someone! Their staff is corteous and helpful. Theyre also equipped with enough machines to cater to the 5pm rush hr with no or a possible 1 min wait time for a machine. The gym is clean and has a diverse population and a yearly mbsp of $250 and you cant beat that in brooklyn!!
Pros: Great Price, friendly staff

I found an affordable comfortable atmosphere in a gym finally. I recenlty moved from sunset park to the kensington area of Brooklyn so I have experienced working out at two of the 3 locations and feel the same about them both bring an i-pod or walkman as the music is there to dull down the sounds of the banging of the weights. Everyone is respectful and friendly I love the sauna in the kensington location!! And the aerobics instructors like Lissette and Sara really work you out!!! Thanks girls I look and feel great! And thank you Absolute Fitness for an affordable, clean gym.
Pros: Affordable

I have been a member for about a year. I love the diversity of the population and the cheap price most. The downside is the AC/ fans don't really run that high (a probably this time of the year!) and when classes are being held in the only room you can stretch in. I find it a bit misleading to call this place a "ex-con hangout". This is really a no frills neighborhood gym that attracts a very diverse population. Just a great value overall!
Pros: price, lots of weights
Cons: AC/ fans on low, no space to stretch, dated cardio machines

I feel so honored to write the first (and probably the only) review for my favorite gym in the whole wide world, Absolute Power of Brooklyn. Ok, so its nothing special, but you cannot beat the price of a year membership for 250 bucks. Be prepared to bring your headphones unless you enjoy hearing the exact same reggaeton songs over and over and over again. This is a good gym for people who want nothing more than to work out, and get outta there as quick as possible. It is not a social scene at all, and everyone keeps to themselves. Although, the rules are never actually followed nor enforced, but its nice to see they though of a couple! Watch out for the guys who look like ex-cons dropping 99999lb dumbells every five seconds and screaming out the numbers of reps they have done. "ONE!!!!!!..................TWO!!!!!!!!!!!................."
Pros: Cheap, Simple, U can be invisible
Cons: Ex-Con hangout, Repetitive Music, Never have isopure
