We tried Blue Smoke last night. For a Wednesday night it was packed. We started with orange margaritas. They were good. They went a little overboard with the salt and it was a little too sweet for me and it was also a very small drink. But, nonetheless, very refreshing. We had the BBQ potato chips and blue cheese dip. This was really awesome! The dip is addicting and even though the BBQ potato chips look pretty standard, the taste is outstanding. Next we got the rib sampler (for one) and the fried chicken. The fried chicken was really good. All white meat and not greasy at all. But, since the ribs were soooo GOOOD, we ended up fighting over the ribs. Next time, we would probably get the rib sampler for two. The kansas city and memphis ribs are really good. The salt and pepper ribs are really good too, but were a little dry for my taste. I would highly recommend coming here!
Pros: Casual good food
Cons: loud restaurant, no waiting area

We were there on a busy Friday night and had a good time. The place is a bit loud, but overall good. We started with the homemade potato chips with the warm blue cheese dip, which was real nice. The dip was pretty addicting. We also had the peel and eat shrimp, which I was surprised was a hot dish. ( heat-hot) If it said it on the menu, I missed it. We both had the rib sampler platter which we ended up having packed up to take home we had so much and were saving room for dessert. I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese, it was delish. Best thing of the evening. Neither of us particularly cared for the cole slaw. Dessert was the chocolate layer cake and banana cream pie. I had prearranged with the hostess that it was my husbands birthday, so they wrote his name in chocolate on the plate and put a candle in his cake. Unfortunately I was a solo in singing as a food runner dropped it off and immediately left. The banana cream pie was a little too much on what tasted like artificial banana flavor in the pie filling, but the walnuts on top were a nice addition.
Pros: The Macaroni and cheese - yummy!!
Cons: Too loud!

Great food and service! We went for lunch over the weekend and the food was really really tasty!!!! We had the rib sampler and the Texas beef ribs, mac and cheese, fries, hush puppies..we loved it all. I'll definitely be back again.
Pros: Food!!

Went on a saturday night, was told the wait would be an hour and a half and were seated in less than an hour.Good drinks, good beers on tap.Staff is young and the place seems really touristy. The food was horrible.I'm not big into barbeque, but I've been to R.U.B. and Pearsons in Queens and enjoyed it.I had the pulled pork which had no taste except where it was covered by some sort of sauce on a stale piece of garbage whitebread. The wings sucked! They were doused in barbeque sauce, and had very little meat on them. This slop repeated on my stomach all night long.In all fairness the desserts were pretty good.If it weren't for the dessert, this would probably be one of the worst meals i have ever had.
Pros: desserts and drinks
Cons: the food

I've eaten here before, and I'll admit the food is very good. But now they treat their customers like crap. The manager even called me 'a liar' when I complained the hostess had promised to sit us whithin 60 minutes but after 120 she was not able to produce a table. They literally refused to serve us and kicked us out of the place after complaining!! This was an informal business dinner for foreign customers, so you can imagine the embarrassment. Bottom line, go somewhere else -- unless you like to be insulted!
Pros: Good food
Cons: Endless waits; staff attitude is abusive

I've been there twice and both times I had tasty food, great drinks and excellent service. Once was for a client dinner and the other was when my brother was in town and the restaurant caters to both settings. They have a funky menu that leads you to 'try something new' and everything I tried was good... I even bought a T-shirt from them :)
Pros: Food, drinks and service
Cons: it's loud

I have been there countless times (expect at least an hour wait if you come between 7:15-9:45 pm). I like to start with the BBQ potato chips, they come out very quickly and taste really good, it helps make your wait shorter.... I have yet to have a burger in the city that was better than blue smoke, the fries are solid every time, and with the help of their "magic dust", the burger is perfect. As for the ribs, I'm not really into pork, but the salt and pepper beef ribs are very very good, the only problem is they have very little meat on them, for their price.
Pros: Burger, Beef, Drinks, Service
Cons: Long wait, Borderline pricey

A wonderful New York barbecue joint, stylish atmosphere, an upscale taste to BBQ. The Mac n’ Cheese is a must, along with the ribs and chicken. Great place to eat with friends and have a good time!
Pros: Fun atmosphere, good home cooking food

I've been to Blue Smoke twice. Once before moving to NYC a couple years ago and once after moving here. The food was consistent and delicious. Sucked that I couldn't substitute cornbread for coleslaw with my pulled pork sandwich but oh well. Prices were sorta steep since this definitely isn't fine dining, but it was in line w/ NY restaurants. Both times I ate here was for lunch and I ate at the bar. First time I had really nice service. Second time, the bartender was busy complaining about his co-workers to a manager the whole time. I really didn't want to overhear this negativity while eating. This could happen anywhere, and yeah sucky co-workers and the service industry in general can eat you alive but keep it to yourself in front of customers man!

Went to Blue Smoke with 4 adult and 1 child. The decor is simple, yet comfortable. Spacious surroundings even when there are lots of people in the restaurant. We sat in a very comfortable booth, with plenty of room for all of us. They have toys for kids to play with while we waited for food. The rest of our dinner experience was not as good. The waiter keep getting our orders wrong. We had the sampler and the beef ribs are more like beef jerky. There is hardly any meat on it and it was really tough. The rest of the meat was not as tough, but they were completely tasteless, you have to drown it in BBQ sauce to be able to eat it. We have been to some top notched BBQ places in Memphis, and the ribs at Blue Smoke is just garbage. Will definitely not go back again.
Pros: Beer selection
Cons: FOOD
