Amazing Happy Hour
by KKFitz
I went to Happy Hour here and the prices were unbelievable. I ordered two drinks with Stoli vodka and paid $7.00. Someone else ordered Dewers on the rocks and paid $3.50. It's unheard of in the city to get top shelf liquor for so cheap. The place isn't crowded either and you can hear eachother talk. Not the best music during Happy Hour, but with the cheap drink prices that is not the biggest deal. The bartenders are nice too so that is a bonuse! Next time I go out for Happy Hour I will definitely go here!
- Pros: Great Drink Prices, Not Crowded
- Cons: Dark, Bad Happy Hour Music
lovely place

Very Friendly Place With Something For Everyone
by IngiB
This is one of my favorite places because there is so much you can do. Upstairs they have two rooms - one like an old style bar, and the other a Moroccan lounge. Downstairs they have dancing and sometimes live music. It seems to be a popular choice for groups because there is plenty of seating, there are couches, and the booths have high backs giving some privacy.
- Pros: various atmospheres
- Cons: music a bit too loud in the back room.
Great Place for our Party
by HeyJoe5
I've had two parties at this place. One birthday, and one small reunion. The manager Gypsee was super prompt returning all my emails and taking care of every detail. When we arrived everything was just as promised. Three rooms, and tons of drink concoctions. I really like this place.
- Pros: Great Service and Drinks
- Cons: Small bathroom
you got me hooked...love the homemade vodkas
by LatinMami
I was there last Wednesday for Karaoke for my friends birthday. We had a blast singing Karaoke in the lounge. We had the best homemade infused vokas..YUMMY..the pineapple and the verry berry were delicious. also had the beef sliders, veggie skewers and homemade potatoe chips all delicious. Very surprised to find good food in a bar. Just when we were tired of singing went down to the Village Underground and enjoyed the live music, amazing singers. Loved the old school reggae and disco that the girls sang. also loved how the band mixed the old and the new, mixed rock with the hip-hop. the band was having so much fun on stage that we stayed the entire night - didnt want to miss a thing. This place is a jem. Looking forward to going back soon
- Pros: food, drinks, karaoke. live music downstairs
Can't stay away
by luvitorleave
I love this place...I think my fav about it is the Karaoke! It's so much fun! I go all the time! But the thing is they also have other stuff there too! So if there are to many people signing you can play pool or go down stairs and listen to the professionals sign.
- Pros: yummy eats and yummy drinks
- Cons: nothing
Best Sound in the City
by Storm1
The Underground has absolutely the best sound in the city for such an intimate setting. Only other contender would be The Wha? Formerly of the same ownership. The drinks are nicely sized and tastey. The waitstaff is customer friendly, although it is possible to get lost in the shuffle on busy nights. The bouncers keep it orderly.
I was seated next to regular customers of the Blue Note last Friday, it was their first time coming to the VU. The UnionN was on stage. They said they they had never experienced anything like the VU, and were sure to come back. Overall, any quest for excellent live music should start here. You might make it a permanent home.
- Pros: Best sound, great drinks, friendly staff
- Cons: Food is so-so
Good Happy Hour Spot, IF...
by uesreview
FBPC has yummy happy hour specials including a wide variety of martinis and shots. The place is filled with old couches and chairs and has a vintage smell, but the younger crowd doesn't seems to think about or care about what the place would look like "with the lights on..."
Recommended for newcomers to NYC and to all in the winter when it doesn't matter that you're entering a dungeon during daylight hours.
