Amazing Colorists
by unHappYChiCk at Citysearch
I have only been here twice but i never ran out crying.... The reception area could use to a bit of change(MORE CUSTOMER SERVICE) but the colorists are awesome The 2 times i have been was once with a girl named Kazoo sweet friendly lady but my favorite was with this woman i believe her name was agnes. She actually listened to me gave me what i had wanted without making me look like one of those nyc tramps. she had a few clients while working with me so i didnt feel like one but over all i was happy with my serivce and would recommend both ladies
- Pros: Techincians listen do great services
- Cons: reception staff a bit rude not helpful
Highly Over Rated Salon
by Paulinar at Citysearch
The staff is rude, overcrowded, overrated, old equipment. The desk service awful and it changes every month from bad to worse, over all highly over rated place that tries to take advantage of old glory, pathetic!!!!!!!!!
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!
by andigayle21 at Citysearch
I have been to Louis Licari several times before and I have always been very happy. Yesterday I went for highlights and a cut and after a $400 bill I left in tears. While I was having my highlights done my colorist was also working on at least 3 other people and she was flustered and running around. She was friendly but didn't listen to what I wanted with my higlights and I was very specific! Then, when I got my hair cut the stylist DID NOT LISTEN. I said simply one inch off the back and one inch off of my bangs. He chopped at least 2 inches and put short layers and thinned out my already thin hair! I HATE IT! When I noticed all the hair he was cutting I asked him what he was doing and he acted annoyed he told me to relax it would be fine. Needless to say I will NEVER return....
- Pros: Nice area
- Cons: Felt rushed and ignored
Best of the best haircolor
by Saragton at Citysearch
Best haircolor, I haven't been able to find a better color anywhere in New York, London or Paris. My colorist is Yolanda, the best professional I've ever known, if you try her, she'll listen to you and you'll leave the salon as happy as I do each time that I go to do my hair. Her price for the quality? really good and fair. Her character and behavior? excellent.
2007- Louis is too much!!
by candice10 at Citysearch
Louis has been around a long time - and it shows--he is cranky and picky. He has some very talented people working in his palace but his attitude is a turn off- this man needs to be a little more humble.
Attitude from the top filters down----there are far to many salons in NYC where the owners don't have attitude.
- Pros: good talented people
- Cons: Holly and Louis need to be a little more humble- the attitude is awful!! Stuck-Up is not chic !
Allan's Client
by brontesister at Citysearch
I have been a client of Allan's for 10 years. He has moved to the Wonderland Beauty Parlor located at 418 W. 13th St. 212-524-2800 if anyone else is looking for him!
The King of Color and his team of well-trained professionals primp and pamper at an elite salon.

In Short
The white walls, black floors, and no-frills design do little to announce this bi-level salon as one of New York City's most sought-after. But a long list of celebrity clients--who get coiffed in the salon's private VIP styling room--and numerous national television appearances make the salon's namesake and expert colorist, Louis Licari, a celebrity himself. His dedicated fans rave about the staff's impeccable service and their cutting-edge techniques.
