Watch out for added gratuity
by Lmandorla
We have been going there for years, the sushi is usually exceptional (we were only disappointed on a couple of rare occasions). Over the past few months, we have, however, noticed a pattern of decreasing service quality, cost cutting (no more parking validation), price increases and lately mandatory 20% gratuity with no notice whatsoever. Be warned!
- Pros: Good food
- Cons: So-so service, dishonest tip policy
Worst Service
by markymark1010
Food is without a doubt good but since it is a monopoly in the area the service is consistently awful. If I get an urge for sushi I order from here then swear off for 3 months because of the service and get my ushi in the City. It's a shame because this place could be good. FYI I have gotten delivery and eaten inhouse and either way the service lacks. In an jam give it a shot, otherwise avoid.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Service
Best food!
by BBQ198
Komegashi Too is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant in my good old home state of New Jersey. And though it is in NJ, the caliber of the restaurant and food is such that it could easily fit in if it were transplanted across the Hudson River to Manhattan (unfortunately, the prices somewhat reflect this... but you do get what you pay for!). The ambiance is dateworthy, the service is polite and efficient, and the sushi is delicious, fresh, and well-presented. I especially love their excellent variety of inventive rolls. My favorite is their mini godzilla roll (I sometimes can't resist from ordering a second plate of it), which can only be described as little bundles of crunchy, spicy, flavorful perfection.
Bad service and overpriced.

I have been going there for over ten years...Komegashi 1 and 2. It's gone downhill - the service, the amount of food, the prices....I think they know that they don't have that much competition around so they are taking advantage of that...instead of nurturing loyal customers, their tactics are pushing them away. Manhattan is only a train ride away from them w/ cheaper, better, fresher, and tastier food.
Better than the rest!

For quality, service, ambiance,& energy, there is none better than Komegashi, too, AKA K2. What makes K2 so unique is its ultimate desire to please the customer. That means attending to most dietary needs and requests. What impresses me most about K2 is the creative menu, the variety & number of items, & the ever-changing selections, all of which are presented artistically and, by the way, are delectable! Whenever I have a yen for Japanese food, and that is quite often, my choice is none other than Komegashi, too.
- Pros: free parking, convenient location, fresh food
- Cons: none
Fresh!!
by macon212
I am a regular here, almost 2~4 days a week. There are only one word to describe the sushi experience Fresh!! I've been many different restaurants, this is the place when you put the freshest fish in your mouth and you know you are in heaven. The new White Salmon is the best on the planet, and nobody has a better skirt steak. I love the Chilean sea bass as well as all the hand rolls.
- Pros: sushi, window seats, ambience, desserts, valided parking
- Cons: while wait for sushi just get another drink!!
Fresh Sushi in Jersey City
by kentrosi
I was staying in the hotel next door. Needless to say I ate there the first time out of convenience. Was I a lucky guy! The sushi was very fresh. The pieces were good size. I had several of their noodle dishes as well. There is plenty to choose from for the non-sushi crowd. If they would just ban smoking in the resturant, it would be perfect.
- Pros: quality, selection, location
- Cons: smoking allowed
A new sushi experience
by SlyVixen
We had a birthday party here recently and the food and service was amazing. Serving Japanese/French fusion cuisine, the food is a far cry from your typical sushi combos. Not only was the sushi fresh, they also served other entrees allowed each guest something to choose from and we all left happy (try the duck!) The service was a bit slow and the portions are a bit small so if you are hungry and in a rush, this is not the place for you.
- Pros: Service, good parking, good for groups
- Cons: Pricey, slow

Drinks-Sassy Rosy martini-best of it's kind I've ever had.
Desserts-Banana Foster-yes, they're that good, so is the fried ice cream and green tea creme brulee!
Go! It's great!
