Shady place - wow what an experience
by bonesmarones
I live in Hoboken and know a lot of fun places ........ I used to like going to Madisons but after being robbed by the bartender (full price drinks when said they were half) and also listening to terrible music (Tori Amos on a Thurs. night) this place is done ........... so much more fun and pretty people are downtown ........ the food here is mediocre at best .... hope to see yall downtown cause i live uptown and can firmly say this place su*ks .......
- Pros: none
- Cons: thiefs of bartenders , bad music , ugly crowd
Excellent brunch!! But go early...

Madison bar & Grill has an excellent sunday brunch buffet that my fiance and I have gone to now for 3 years in a row on Easter. We went there yesterday for a 2pm reservation, and the place was not very busy - we must've missed the rush. However, the brunch was still great - oysters were excellent, corned beef hash was REAL and very good, I really liked everything! The chocolate fountain was fun, a cute touch. We really like this place because we know what to expect - holy cow, I almost forgot to mention the tilapia with chardonnay sauce, it was excellent! I almost ate the entire pan. The waitstaff is lovely and very friendly, and the drinks are good too! My fiance had a bloody mary that pretty much whipped his butt, and I had a mojito and a key lime martini, both of which were awesome!! I recommend Madison bar & Grill, I think its a great place!! It made out Easter fun :-) We went home and took a nap after eating so much!!
- Pros: Good brunch buffet, good drinks, nice waitstaff
- Cons: None!
validating parking - WHAT!
by melindasaunders
Today I went there for brunch and parked in the lot that validated parking for Madison's. It was $30 flat rate for the day because Hoboken Art and Music festival was happening. When we went to pay for brunch, the waitress informed us that they would out of comp stickers, so they were just subtracting $10 off the bill. It wasnt until I went back to the garage when I realized that no matter how long you parked, it was for $30 and it would only be $10 if you had a validation sticker from the restaurant. So here I was paying $20 for parking after recieving only $10 off the bill.
Food was fair. Oysters were warm and of poor quality - very gritty. Chocolate fondue was good, but wished they had nutter butters and pretzels.
- Pros: creme bulee french toast
- Cons: parking valiadation
Love it!

Great food and service is top notch!! I've had dinner there(great), and my shower was held there. They do a great job on catering in the restaurant.
- Pros: service, martini's, varied menu
- Cons: smoking
Never a disappointment

Great food, great drinks, nice dining atmosphere.
The bar scene here can be a bit annoying, since out-of-towners crowd into Hoboken, making it almost impossible for residents to enjoy the better local establishments. But dinner here is never disappointing, even if the prices are a bit over the top.Try the fried oysters & a Cosmopolitan.
Disappointingly, their wonderful Saketini has been taken off the bar menu.
- Pros: good food, good service, fun
- Cons: overpriced, crowded, young, noisy crowd
