A Wonderful Shopping Experience
by mrshopkins at Citysearch
As a long-time Daffy's shopper, I must compliment the staff and management at this paticular Daffy's location. The service is always friendly and I never leave empty handed! In response to spoiledbrat's review, if it were such an awful place to work, why would I see the same friendly faces year after year?? I remember the store manager(an excellent business woman) from the Fifth Avenue & 18th St. location(which has by the way, recently re-opened) as well as the "lazy" supervisor she mentioned(really not so lazy- a very talented merchant who can work magic with a rolling-rack of new arrivals ).With the retail arena being so competitive these days, I'm sure any dead weight would have been discarded long ago. So, watch out my little darling...either you will (or have) incurred the wrath of your superiors, which would indeed make for a truly unhappy working environment. It seems if you are that unhappy, you should do your employer the favor and resign. I'm going to Daffy's uptown to check out the new Patrizia Pepe tomorrow. So follow my advice everyone... Daffy's is the place to shop at !!
Horrible Managment
by spoiledbrat1211 at Citysearch
I work at this particular Daffy's I must say as an employee that the customer service is average but the managment is the worst. The store manager (Haydee Johnson) Is friends with one of the supervisors in the lady's department. vThis particular supervisor (Carline) Is lazy, she dosnt do any work and all she does is shop. She expects for the associates to complete tasks that the store manager assigns to her. When the employess complain about the supervisor and her work tactics, she brushes them off. Also the managers divide working hours based on favoritism. Me as well as my co-workers are fed up on our complaints falling on death ears, what should we do?
Ps: Also when cooperate comes in the supervisor acts as though she is working hard
- Pros: Their customer service
- Cons: Working for this company
This is retail's answer to "Survivor," so watch your back.

The Scene
A manic energy gets you reeling with desire the moment you enter. It's not that you see anything you want necessarily--but what if it's out there? And it's not that you have plans for Saturday night, but what if something comes up and you don't have a hand-beaded camisole? These thoughs cross your mind just before the shoving begins. Something about the squeal of techno-pop and dizzying swirls of silk blouses makes shopping here feel like a competitive sport.
The Goods
Brightly colored sandals, enormous beaded handbags, slippery lingerie, work-worthy shirts, pants and skirts, candles, gilded home accessories and pretentious baby attire await, both designer-produced and otherwise, with brands like Patricia Pepe and Joseph A. predominating. It's impossible for the harried staff to keep up with the clientele's shenanigans, so abandoned items often go unnoticed. With very little effort, you can leave with a quirky looking stretch top or a handsome pair of boots for under $100.
