You get what you pay for.

by SashimiGuy

This is by far the worst sushi establishment I have ever eaten at. The signs outside lure you in for 50% sashimi and sushi but what you really get is below average everything (tea, salad, sushi, sashimi, korean dishes, and service...).

My companion ordered the bulgogi, it tasted horrible and I ordered a sushi/sashimi combo. Bad Choice. The sashimi was too salty and the sushi rolls rice was rock hard (recycled?). Whenever I pass this establishment I always smile and see what patrons have been lured into this fly trap.

I'm not a picky eater but 50% HA, THEY SHOULD PAY YOU TO EAT AT THIS PLACE.

  • Pros: Interior design of the restaurant is nice
  • Cons: Everything other than the design of the restaurant

Very Dirty food

by Whatabum

I used to go there a lot since there was 50% off sushi. The last time I went there, it was horrible. They reuse leftovers from other peoples leftovers. Disgusting! My friend ordered the Salad and the top looked freshly coated with giant pieces of lettuce and sauce. However, some people mix the salad around to spread the sauce around, but not my friend. She eats it piece by piece only to find the bottom have came from a previous customer. The bottom had salad which was soaked in sauce and the lettuce wasn't green and crisp. I honestly, swear to god, the first time I looked at it, I told her "why did you play with your salad?" and she replied "It was like that on the bottom."

The same night, we found our Tuna sushi roll mixed with some kind of other fish, white color looking. This place is truly disgusting. They reuse leftover by customers so they can save themselves some money. Next time you don't finish it, ruin it. They will most likely reuse it.

they lie on their menu!! no star for this restaurant if it's an option

by marry10003

I ordered ramen from the menu but surprisingly, they served me INSTANT NOODLE! The waitress told me that many customers complained about it but the boss did nothing (like to add a warning on the menu or take it off from the menu). I asked the waitress to take it back since I didn't want to eat instant noodle but she refused to do so (otherwise she had to pay for the noodle from her own pocket). She sent another waitor to talk to us. This time the waitor even denied the fact that it was instant noodle and gave us an attitude!! In the end I paid more than $6 for this "ramen" which I can get for less than $1 from the supermarket. Never set my feet in this restaurant again since then.

  • Pros: cheap sushi
  • Cons: bad service, misleading menu

Pretty good!!

by 11222

I went here with a group of about 10. The service was fine! Based on the other reviews, I wasn't expecting much. But the wait staff was friendly and did and ok job. The sushi was very surprising - great! Fresh, delicious, huge menu, and with 50% off all sushi, what a deal! I had soup, edemame, 2 rolls, a beer and a soda for $15. They got all the food orders right, brought them all out about the same time, and were pretty attentive. All around a great experience.

  • Pros: good sushi! 50% off (great deal) service was good
  • Cons: none really!

Food was good but service was bad!!

by dleung92

Sushi Park makes really good Sushi but their service was extremely bad. I think they don't have enough waiters or waitresses to serve the amount of people that come in. If your looking for great food but don't mind waiting to get a drink or to even get your check then you should try this place.

  • Pros: Prices, taste, location, atmosphere
  • Cons: Their service was bad!

Nice and tasty Japanese food

by nycklever

I have visited recently Sushi Park for lunch and dinner and I have been delighted by the taste and quality of its food.

In my humble opinion and particularly because I have visited Japan and South-East Asia several times I am a fan of the exquisiteness, resourcefulness and meticulous attention to details of this delectable and scrumptious worldwide popular cuisine. For instance, the Teriyaki (salmon and beef) are extremely flavorful and cooked in such rich tasty sauce that really invite you to savor them . Similarly, the Sukiyaki, Tempura and Tatsuta Age are simply mouth-watering dishes and so is the Sushi which is prepared in a very tender and delicate style. I normally go for the Bento Box and I order one or two appetizers including sushi salmon. That really satisfy my huge appetite.

I have to say that the environment is very inviting and scrupulously clean. Though, one thing I feel they need to improve is the service, which is very slow and sometimes no adjusted to the competitiveness of a growing and demanding business like the food service. Here the customer satisfaction will always prevail.

This no-frills Japanese restaurant off the St Marks drag already boasts a modestly-priced menu, but also features half-price sushi nights.

budget sushi: gotta love it

by ophion626

discovered sushi park few years ago. the sushi is almost always tasty although like the other reviewers I always doubt the freshness. Though its never happened to me in the numerous times ive gone there ive had friends walk away with stomachaches, nausea, etc and Ive even been told by the waitstaff that they did not recommend certain meals on account of freshness. my major complaint is with the 50% off incentive. As people have said the half-off on sushi is really what makes or breaks the restaurant (I honestly doubt I?d pay 18+ for their sushi when I?ve had better and I never touch the other food for the same reasons). The policy only applies if your meal is over $14, which doesn?t always seem like a good bargain to everyone. what they also don?t tell you is that every one in your party must order at least 7 dollars to even eat there and they?re very uptight about it. the worst experience I remember is being KICKED OUT by the manager because I brought one friend who wasn?t very hungry and refused to shell out 7 bucks for food she wouldn?t eat. Speaking of the service, it?s a mixed bag: on some days you?ll get a waiter who is absolutely accommodating, on others you have to beg for even water. So would I recommend it? Yeah, if you?re looking for a relatively cheap eat, plenty of sushi (18 pc) and you keep everything ive said in mind

  • Pros: 50% off, plenty to eat, good location (2nd av and st marks)
  • Cons: you'll only get the 50% food, shaky service, not always the freshest

Not even the Food can Compensate for the Horrible Service!

by lolitanyc

This is my first restaurant review ( I am generally too lazy to do write ups) because the service and food should put this restaurant out of business! I've been here a few times and never expected spectacular sushi and service but went in for a quick sushi bite anyway. We ordered a seaweed salad as a starter and rolls to follow. The seaweed came out looking mushy but I went ahead to taste it which left a slimy film in my mouth. We informed the waiter who came back 5 minutes later with the same seaweed dish in hand telling us that it is perfectly fine. Trust me, I've had seaweed salad MANY times and can discern bad seaweed from good. We asked to substitute with a different dish with same or greater value. The poor waiter went to speak to the boss and returned telling us substituting is not an option. We told the waiter that we will not take the risk of getting food poisoned and just told him to take it away. He did so. Minutes later, the lady-boss (manager) came to us with a take-out container with seaweed and shoved it in front of my cousin's face telling her "there is nothing wrong with seaweed..look..look!". I was absolutely appalled the manager would treat her customers this way. At the end, we winded up paying for the seaweed salad anyway. Like most reviewers noted, Sushi Park ONLY wants your money by delivering subpar food and service. DON'T waste your time and money here...there are hundreds of other Japanese restaurants in the area...like my favorite-Takahashi on Ave A.

cheap sushi

by lissykins

cheap sushi often comes at a price. and this one does. the rolls are poorly rolled, the service isn't very good, and the fish doesn't taste too fresh. i always go expecting a good price, but never expecting great sushi.

  • Pros: cheap sushi
  • Cons: fish isn't great quality; can get very crowded and cramped
