Not recommended!!!!!!!!!

by mimzyleo

Service: BAD!!!!!!!!! They judge people by what they wear. We went there for dinner and worn some causal clothes. There were 4 other people came in after us and they worn business suit. The waiter arranged the table for them first, but not for us!!!!! We had 4 people too!!!!!!!!!!. That's unfair!!!! We had been waiting for the menu for 1/2 hour. But other people got in after us were eating already.............. I can't believe that!!!!!!!!

Food: Not really that impressed as other comments say.................

Even tho food is important for the restaurant to survive, SERVICE is the SOUL as well!!!!!!!!!!

Great food, great value!

by ilovetea4

This place is one of those hidden treasures of New York. It's some of the best Thai food I've ever had, and they give you a really good amount of food for the incredibly reasonable prices. It's never really that crowded, so you can always get seated right away and get decent service. The service and atmosphere aren't bad, though unlike most Thai restaurants they play random pop music songs from the 90's over the sound system (it's not the most romantic thing in the world, but who cares? -- you go there for the food!). They do take-out and delivery too, which is almost just as good!

  • Pros: Great Value, Great Food, Never Crowded, Delivery/Take-Out
  • Cons: Average ambience and service

Take out

by trlyclsk

I only had Delivery. They had fabulous curry chicken--not going to lie, it was mmmmm good. I am a huge wonton soup fanatic. I have only found 1 place so far that makes me want as much as i can fit in my belly and thats in brooklyn, on clark street. Thai Angels wonton--ehh, 1-5 i give it a 2ish. Seems to be always packed though when i pass by.

  • Pros: curry chicken and rice.
  • Cons: wonton soup

Great Prices

by duranie70

I went here with my friend Friday night, my facialist had recommended it. I had the green curry and a thai iced tes, my friend had a broccoli stirfry w/ chicken. We enjoyed our dishes very much, tab came out to $22. Very reasonable. I'll definitly go back when I am in the area again.

Lunch Special

by merryeat

This is your typical thai restaurant, with your typical thai dishes like pad thai and papaya salad. Unfortunately, it's just that. The food is ok, and the price is average or cheap, depending on what you get. I go there for the lunch special, and even that, the price has been increasing slowly. Don't think I haven't noticed.

I've also noticed that sometimes the same dish I really enjoyed, wouldn't taste as great other times. I never know what to expect.

The food is spicy and flavorful. But nothing unique or creative in the dishes.

  • Pros: Lunch special
  • Cons: sometimes the food is great, sometimes not

Hit or Miss

by dead4daze

Sometimes this is the BEST food and others...well, it just sucks. The problem is just that-it is a sometimes kind of affair. But, hey, there is anything better with a decent vegetarian selection in Astoria. So, again, give it a try. I recommend ordering in on a weeknight. Apparently, the good cook works then.

Not bad, but not great either

by moonlitaria

Good Chicken w/ peanut sauce, but my friend's mixed sqewer dish wasn't that great: it's chicken was a lil dry and the shrimp a lil too salty. But the coconut rice was good. Place should also have a 1,2,3 chili rating to be more authentic...

Delicious Thai Food with attentive service

by jimmychoos

Were meeting up with some friends for a drink at Lafayette 161 and happened to walk by Thai Angel famished. It was raining, and we figured why not? The interiors are warm, tables lit by candlelight, patrons happily eating and praising the wait staff and cook constantly...pretty rare to see..and strange. I ordered the chu chu curry and my friend ordered the pad thai chicken. The chu chu curry was really delish but the pad thai..unbelievable...and a large portion too! The Thai ice tea was amazingly smooth and yummy! Only boo was the rice..i think it is called jasmine rice but not sure, had a dry texture to it..seemed like left over rice. But other than that..not bad at all!

  • Pros: Pad Thai, Nice waiters, Comfy ambiance
  • Cons: Dry rice
