I have to say, I am a little surprised by some of the less-than-stellar reviews. Each time I shop here, I find what I need and always walk away with a little something extra, which is sometimes just a helpful suggestion from the staff for the next time I visit. I suffer from some skin problems, and I gotta say that when I finally went to a dermatologist at the Tribeca Skin Center, he recommended the same organic facial products that the Manager here had insisted I use a year prior to my doctor visit. Great for gifts or for selfish lavishes. I've got friends and family hooked on the place and the products. And if you're looking for fake smiles and inferior products, look elsewhere...like the Manhattan Mall.
Pros: products, environment, knowledgeable staff
Cons: some prices mean splurging but it's usually worth it

Unfortunately I have to agree nearly word for word with the previous poster. The people who work here think way too highly of themselves and way too little of the people that come in with money to spend on their products. It's quite sad actually because the place is great and has a lot of unique items.

While the atmosphere is charming and the products and selection lovely, I must say the service and attitude are absolutely dreadful. I have been in to browse several times, and have never gotten as much as an hello. Today I stopped by to purchase a specific product. There were two gentlemen on staff, who must have decided I was not worthy to spend my money on their products, as both completely ignored me and gave me disdainful looks. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have received such treatment in this shop and, therefore, will head uptown to Bergdorf's where one can at least expect a polite and courteous sales associate who appreciates his or her customers.

Cons: Complete lack of Customer Service

I've shopped all over New York and the world for that matter, and I'm constantly on the lookout for hidden gems like The Bathroom. The shop carries a wonderfully edited selection of terrific bath products -- soaps, shampoos, candles, towels, etc, that you don't seem to see on every other block. Icing on the cake is the British owner, Colin, who is very funny and charming, not to mention very knowledgable and helpful in chatting about his products. If you're sick of the big chains and want to go back to the times when shopping was a pleasurable experience, I recommend The Bathroom in Greenwich Village just off of Bleecker Street.
Pros: beautiful setting, unique products, friendly staff

I was very please with the service I received at The Bathroom. I was getting a gift for a friend and knew she likes top notch beauty and spa products. I had no idea what to get, but after smelling, testing, and being told about various products. I ending getting my friend and myself a bag of presents!
Pros: Customer Service, Good prices, high end and quality
