Great Customer Service!

We found a small red bug that looked like a bedbug in our son's crib. With everything in the media, we panic and started phoning every exterminator in the directory. We finally called M&M and fortunately someone was still in the office at 7:30pm. Realizing how startled we were, they offered to wait for us to bring them the sample to analyze. Our cab ride to the Orchard Street took 35 minutes and they waited patiently. To our display, the bug was confirmed to be a bedbug under the microscope. What came as another surprise was their free consultation as to what to do next. They even recommended that we contact our landlord and work with their extermination to save money which we did end up doing. While we are technically not their clients, we wish every company is as committed as M&M in helping people.

think twice before you get a bed bug dog

i don't have any particular complaints with m&m. but i find the bed bug dog product dubious where the inspector does not do a visual confirmation, which m&m does not do. if the dog is so damn good, then it should be easy for the inspector to take a quick look to search for a bug.

the dog tapped something like 7 locations, despite the absence of visual confirmation of anything. i know the bugs are hard to find, but no fecal matter, no castskins, very few bites (my room mate had 3). anyways, we did the extermination because we were uneducated.

we based our selection of m&m on the high ratings on city search. i'm sure their dog is as good as the next, but there is a very serious debate out there whether a dog is any good and, more importantly, whether a dog without visual confirmation is any good at all. also there is debate out there about whether one should trust a pest control company that does both dogs and extermination, even if they don't "push" their services on you (what's a better push than a bed bug dog saying you have them anyways?)

i suggest reading over this thread on a forum, which i have just now done despite having treated my apartment without a pest guy actually finding any visual evidence (not just the actual beds, which are hard to find, but the "other stuff" that is much easier to find).

for the thread, go to the bedbugger forum and search for "false positives". city search won't let me directly post it. read it before you hire any dog. i'm not saying they're worthless, but they mean much less without visual confirmation, which you could use your money for a very thorough visual inspection.

Real professionals!

We have been living in fear of bedbugs for several months since we learned of our neigbhors having them. Unfortunately, our fears were confirmed when our daughter was bitten all one evening. Since we did not have confident in the building exterminator, we hired M&M instead because of their solid reviews. We were not disappointed and is so happy about our decision. They were exceptionally pleasant to work with and their indepth knowledge about treating bedbugs is impressive. They took time to listen to us and explain every preparation point to us. The technicians that showed us to our home were also very professional and polite. Because we have children and pets in the household, it was also important to us that they were eco-friendly. We recommend M&M highly to anyone looking to exterminate bedbugs.

I am true believer now

We had overseas guests staying with us a few weeks back and afterward we started noticing little red welts on our bodies in the morning. My wife feared they were from bedbugs, but I disagreed, considering the unusual warm weather and the occasional mosquitoes.

To appease her, I contacted M & M Environmental and scheduled for their dog team to inspect our apartment. We had to sign and fax back a preparation contract. They sounded quite proficient and friendly for exterminators. When Danny, the handler, and Champ came over, we had to wait by the door as they search our home. Within 20 minutes, they were done and Champ had detected bedbug “odors” in 3 areas. They were very professional and didn’t try to sell their treatment services and even gave us some recommendation as to what to do now and how to interview other exterminators to treat our home. While I appreciated the inspection, I was still skeptical of the entire bedbug detecting dog thing. I wanted physical proof before taking any course of action and was disappointed they could find me a live bedbug as proof. Of course my wife disagrees but I didn’t want to expose us toxic pesticide and subject ourselves to endless hours of laundering and cleaning without any hard evidences. My wife and I can comb through every square inch of our apartment for six hours and even dissembled our entire bed. Still we could not find a single bug or even traces of one. I was convinced the dog gave us false positives and talked my wife into waiting a few more days.

For the next nine days, nothing happened. We thought we were in the clear until yesterday at 5am when I woke up and found a live bug feeding on my arm. Still not convinced, I brought the sample to an entomologist to confirm it and now it is official, we have bedbugs. We have contacted our building manager who is dispatching exterminators to treat our home next week. Although I did not believe the dog at first, I am now converted. I am writing this email as my way of apologizing to M&M for doubting their process and also to thank them for being so patient and answering all our questions. Now I hope my wife forgives me for not listening to her sooner.

Best Exterminators and Dog Dectective Champ

I Found M&M Pest Control on the internet, after much research and based on other reviews we decided to use their BedBug Dog Champ.... and we are glad we did.

My husband got bitten twice at night and at first we thought it might be mosquittos. Then we believed that we may have bedbugs. So a day or so later we got rid of our Bed and Box Frame. (I know people say you don't have to they can be treated, but I just couldn't handle the thoughts of me and BedBugs together at night)

I have to specifiy that I never got bitten it was just my poor husband. However from all the research I did, I found it is possible for two people to be in the bed and only one show signs of bites.

So my next step was to contact M&M.

On the phone, they were very helpful and explained everything to us and instructing us how to prep our apartment for inspection by Champ and his handler Danny.

Champ and Danny were great. The handler walked Champ to our door and then placed him in his Kennel outside the door. Danny then came in and walked around the premises. He then went out and placed Champ on a different length lead.... this was so he'd know it was time to work..... Danny led Champ all the way around our apartment. I allowed Champ to get up on the couches and beds etc... I wanted him to be really able to get his nose in all the nooks and crannys.

He did a great job. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it Champ found scent of live BedBugs on a backpack and on another bag in one of our bedrooms (both had been by the bed when we had a bed). We wraped the bags in plastic and disposed of them (again they could have been treated but they were old and I didn't want them in the house anymore.) What Champ found was very localised so we have now ordered some follow up treatment that we can apply ourselves. Danny also gave us some additional tips that we tend to put into practice.

We plan on booking Champ and Danny again in about a month or so, after our treatments have a chance to work and hope to get the all clear. I would highly reccommend Danny and Champ and M& M pest control. They didn't push any services on us and told us to take our time before we made any decision. Keep your fingers crossed and we'll let you know how we get on.

They are consumate professionals and I would have no problem recomending them to anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves in the same position as us.

They have many services available for various scenarios. They were great and answered all questions.

Best BedBug Exterminator in the US

From the moment I discovered that I had Bedbugs in my apartment I started calling friends who had had them and they all said one thing Tim Wong at M and M Environmental. From the first second I realized I had these insects I called Tim to discuss my options and he not only answered all of my questions on the spot for half an hour he also continued to help me through the process from start to finish. At first I wanted to do it all myself so I got all the insectiside products and bed cover from him. Its such an insane thing to get bedbugs that I needed all the advice I could get to prepare for exterminating them. Ive had friends who had crazy infestations and others who just found two bedbugs in bed so advice varried. I started to work like crazy preparing to have Tim and M and M come in and exterminate the bedbugs. His reputation is that he is the best in NYC and environmentally safe for humans. Not only can he use many methods depending on the problem, but he guarantees his work because hes that good. There is aggressive treatments and passive. Id say 90% of exterminators out there use passive treatments where you are the bait and the bedbugs come out to get you and pass over a chemical that exterminates them. It is both ineffective and even if it works it can take six months. If your landlord, who is responsible for exterminating bedbugs tries to use some normal toxic exterminator dont let him do it--it is incredibly harmful to you and it doesnt work--bedbugs are resistant to most of the chemicals these regular exterminators use or some bedbugs always get away.

Tim comes in with a bedbug sniffing dog to find the spots where the bedbugs are. Then the treatment proceeds to exterminate them with steam, pesticides, and they proof /seal your space so there are no more holes and cracks and entryways for the bedbugs. They attack with a special system that intensely shoots insecticides deep into walls and cracks and everything that needs it and aggressively gets the bedbugs. And the most important part about their technique is that a few hours after they leave the insecticides don’t leave any toxic residue. Then they come back 10 days later to make sure they’ve exterminated everything. Whats crazy about bedbugs is that nothing can exterminate the eggs except steam or fumigation (in a sealed environment) so M and M uses steam and I think they used fumigants too (not sure).

These guys use the most advanced insecticides and treatments known to man. If you want your bedbug problem resolved and fast use these guys.

They also helped me to understand that you don’t have to throw out any of your possessions, which I was already in the process of doing. I had bedbugs in everything from TV to furniture. They work with other companies who pick up all your possessions and put them in a pod and fumigate with a chemical that exterminates every bedbug and egg 100% guaranteed. It really worked. That is the big breakthrough nowadays.

The companies I used that are also recommended by M and M are Moving Right Along (they pick up your stuff and bring it to a storage site where you get it fumigated and stored for 1 month free in a sealed pod); BedBug and Beyond does the fumigation (the next day the fumes and any residuals are gone, you don’t have to clean anything) and if you have any questions about fumigation, bedbugs etc, BB and B or M and M can and will take the time to answer everything.

By the way, these three companies come with the highest recommendations and credentials in the scientific community too. Janusz Erdely

Super cute dog. We recently came back from a trip and experienced some bites and was afraid they were from bedbugs. After researching extensively, we contact M & M and make an appointment for our apartment to be inspected by their dog, Champ. Fortunately, nothing was detected and we were cleared of the buggs. Thanks for the quick response and giving us a peace of mind.

Carpet Beetle Experts

After months of working with inexperienced exterminators we finally found a company that knows the difference between varied and black carpet beetles. Their very friendly staff took time to listen to my situation and reviewed several options with me. I have not hired them yet but is very delighted that there are smart exterminators left.

smartest dog ever!

We hired M & M's bed bugdog detective, Champ, to inspect for what we suspected were bedbugs and sane enough Champ found them inside of boxspring and travel bags. Afterward we inspected the bag carefully and found 2 tiny bedbugs inside the bag pocket. Unbelievable dog. great job!
