While visiting my mum in NYC, I noticed that the stone in my engagement ring was loose. I didn't want to wait until returning home to have it fixed, however as a NY'er I didn't trust leaving my ring in the hands of a total stranger. A friend recommended Greenwich Jewelers and I can't than her or them enough! While my regular jeweler insisted that I'd have to leave the ring over night, Carl Gandia allowed me to watch as the 5 minute resetting procedure took place. He even permitted my little boy to site with me to watch. I felt that my needs were most important from the time I set food in Greenwich Jewelers to the moment I left. I appreciated the service so much that I will make a point to stop in to have my rings looked at each time I'm in the city. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Pros: Outstanding customer service; I was able to watch while my ring was repaired, great prices, very personable and friendly.

Cons: Absolutely none.

I've heard great reviews on this website about Greenwich Jewelers so I decided to check out the store when shopping for an engagement ring. Couldn't be happier with the ring me and fiance picked out as they have a great selection and we were big on the fact that they do conflict-free diamonds for those seeking a little more peace of mind when shopping for diamonds. And Jennifer was great at explaining all about the 4 C's and never felt pressured to buy anything above my budget. She's wonderful to work with and me and my new fiance are definitely coming back here to shop for our wedding bands when the time comes.

Pros: High quality jewelry, Best customer service in the city

I have to let people know what a great jewelry store Greenwich Jewelers is. I looked at probably 15 different stores looking for the right wedding band for me. I went to all shops on 5th Ave and Madison as well as check out the goods in the diamond disctrict. I either found nothing unique or if I did like it, it was WAAAYYY overpriced. I came to see the GJ and I found a great band that I'm really proud to wear. Plus, we had it engraved...in russian, which was cool. They also repaired my mothers wedding band and seamlessly filled a hole....it looked fantastic AND they had a bunch of great accessories like money clips and cufflinks that made great gifts. Beyond their merchandice, the staff are very kind and extremely trustworthy. I would recommend anyone to them.

My Christmas gift source. Whether its for my lovely wife, my daughter or even the mother-in -law this first class outfit never lets me down. Always willing to help find or create just what I'm looking for and in turn make me look great on Christmas Day.

I'd been planning an engagement, but was very concerned about the diamond as my girlfriend and I feel very strongly about the problem of conflict diamonds. To avoid that dilemma I'd decided to go with a Canadian diamond, but I was having trouble finding any in NYC. After some internet research and an email, I was pointed to Greenwich Jewelers. Although they had no Canadian diamonds in the store at the time, they were more than willing to order some for me to look at. While I honestly wasn't expecting much, I took an appointment and what they were able to show me for my budget really impressed me. Their no-pressure sales approach and personal touch were the true icing on the cake. I'd already been leaning towards a different jeweler, but their care and individual attention swayed me. I wound up with a beautiful custom ring with a Canadian diamond and I'm so glad I went with Greenwich! My future wife and I couldn't be happier and we both love the ring!

Pros: the personal service, the willingness to find what you want

I got my new engagement sized here yesterday. They waited for me because I was lost and sat on the phone with me giving me directions. Then, wen I got there, they asked me if I wanted to watch the ring sizing. The whole family (Carl, his wife, and his two daughters) were truly lovely. My ring looks incredible and I felt that I got the most amazing service possible. I recommend this to anyone for any jewelry purchase or repair or sizing needs.

Somehow, someway the diamond in my engagement ring slipped in its setting and became maddeningly loose. As I am from North Carolina (lived in the city for just a year) I had no idea where to turn, or who to trust with this special piece of jewelry. I searched for hours one morning and discovered Greenwich Jewelers. I called, and they made an appointment for me the very next day to come in and watch the jeweler repair the setting on my ring. Given the horror stories one hears about "stone switching" - I was almost prepared to fly back to NC just to have my ring repaired by our family jeweler. The family at Greenwich Jewelers could not have been nicer, or more professional. They understood my fears and warmly invited me to walk to the back of the store and watch as the family patriarch gently but expertly repaired my ring. Their fee for the service was extraordinarily fair, and within 10 minutes my ring had been repaired, buffed, cleaned and slipped back on my finger by a most generous and compassionate man. The entire family is very conversational, warm and genuinely interested in helping their clients. I would recommend this store to anyone, without hesitation and have done so often in the week that has passed since I repaired my ring.

Pros: They will make appointments for you to sit with a jeweler while s/he repairs your jewelry.

Cons: There's not one I saw!

I went in based on other reviews on Citysearch to get an antique ring resized and appraised. KNowing nothing about diamonds and even less about my own diamond ring, I was very nervous about bringing the ring in and leaving it with a jeweler I didn't know. They allowed me to come back and watch ring being cleaned (it made a huge difference!) and resized. They were attentive, friendly, and treated me and my fiance like family even though it was our first time in the store. They also sell Canadian conflict-free diamonds, which was very important to us, even though we weren't buying a ring. The resizing was seamless. They welded instead of sodering and it came out absolutely perfect. I was extremely pleased with my experience and highly recommend the store.

I'm a soldier currently on a deployment overseas and the wonderful family at Greenwich Jewelers helped me to find the perfect engagement ring with very little time. Jennifer personally walked me through everything and answered any and all questions I could have had. I only had 2 days time in New York while I was home on leave and the Gandia family showed the utmost professionalism and made me feel like I was a part of their family. Their hardwork and dedication to their craft was evident when they were more than willing to stay open late to help me find the right ring as well getting the ring engraved and returned to me the very next day. I have every intentions of making all my future jewelry purchases with this great family, who have shown me a level of professionalism that will be hard to top.

Cons: They don't have a store in every major city

This was the only jeweler in NYC I could find that sold conflict-free diamonds from Canada. I got my engagement ring here, the service was fantastic, they were very patient and helpful, answering all my questions and working with me to create the perfect ring. This is a friendly, family-operated business and their dedication to their customers really shows. Highly recommended!
