a great little shop
by blondiebear1412
when visiting NYC last summer I was determined to find a good vintage shop, and so I luckly stumbled upon centricity. The owner of the store is very friendly and will assist you in finding something that is just perfect for you.I accually left the store with a shirt made by two local designers, instead of a vintage find(even though there was some great vintage items). Everything is very neat and there are a bunch of cute vintage accesories including shoes bags and jewerly, that will go with whatevr you may find.
- Pros: friendly service, afforadably priced
- Cons: very small store
Big-label 1970's vintage for the downtown bargain-hunter.

The Scene
You're in expert hands with store owner Christine, formerly of downtown vintage furniture emporium Las Venus. With an expert eye for what will look fantastic on you, she'll guide you through the small but neatly packed racks and shelves of clothing and accessories. Hang out, browse, try on that poly-blend, zip-front jumpsuit--Centricity's cozy, slumber-party ambience is a welcome respite from the snootiness of other, less chummy East Village boutiques.
The Goods
Stocked with enough polyester to start a five-alarm fire with a sideways glance, Centricity is the ultimate destination for 1970's vintage. Big designer pieces by Gucci, Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent and Diane von Furstenberg are mixed in with merchandise by lesser-known couturiers. And prices are reasonable enough for even the most impoverished Saturday Night Fever-ite. If that doesn't tempt you enough, there's always the sale racks and bins with super finds for as low as $5 an item.
