I am a self-proclaimed beauty junkie, and cannot count the facials I have had over the years at top spas (Bliss, Elizabeth Arden, Glow, Mario Badescu, etc.). but my experience at Tracie Martyn was the best by far. I scheduled my facial before a milestone birthday celebration and was very wary. My fears were put aside by the warm, welcoming staff and suprisingly cozy atmosphere. I was shown before and after pictures but really did not believe the authenticity until my facialist held up a mirror to my face midway in order for me to compare the treated side of my face to the untreated side. The difference was amazing. My face was less puffy, my cheekbones and jawline defined, and all my NYC stress was erased. The products (albeit pricey)smell divine and left my skin super smooth and soft. And they do not "hard sell" the products like every other spa in the city. I left looking 5 years younger and the results lasted nearly a week. As for snootiness, I was treated as well as the model-types in the waiting area, and when I learned the gratutity could not be put on a credit card, they were super-nice about me running out to an ATM and returning later. No attitude provided. My only complaint is that they do not do extractions, (which would be nice for the price one pays), but then again, this is not your "typical facial." Perhaps it is the most expensive facial in the city but it is worth every penny (if you can spare). Definitely believe the hype!

Pros: Amazing results, friendly staff, relaxing comfortable atmosphere.

Cons: Super -expensive, no extractions ( for the expensive price).

Reasons why I love Tracie Martyn: 1-Absolutely THE BEST FACIAL in NYC. I have been to Bliss, Cornelia, Dorit Baxter, Christine Valmy, Christine Chin... Tracie is the best! 2-Natural Products-they use natural enzymes as an exfoliant vs. other chemicals for exfoliation 3-Thorough and effective treatment! Not only was my skin glowing, I found my jawline again! It was so refined, I don't know how she did it. It's priceless! 4-The staff is amazing! From the moment I was greeted, till I left, it was such a warm, welcoming experience! I was relaxed, renewed and energized. LOVE THEM!

I try pretty much every beauty treatment I hear and read about and I saw Tracie Martyn on the Oprah Winfrey Show and was amazed by the before and after difference from her signature Resculpting Facial. I had therefore high expectations before trying the treatment myself, especially since I was told on the phone that that the treatment works for all skin types. I received a warm welcome when I entered the spa something unusual in this fast paced city. I was amazed to see signed magazine covers from very well known actresses of all different ages something that made me feel even more excited about the treatment since I am not a young model like some of Tracie Martyn's clients. The facialist was very kind and caring, had great skin and mentioned a Tracie Martyn mask with enzymes that she was using. I loved the smell of the products especially the cleanser, so fresh and unique! The treatment itself was very relaxing and I actually fell asleep for some of the time. I really saw a big difference around my jaw line and I did look more lifted altogether. My skin looked brighter and had more of a glow as well. The esthetician put the products on one of my hands and I could not believe the difference in the smoothness and brightness of my skin in comparison to the other hand. I have become a big fan of the cleanser as it it evens out the color of my skin. I love the fact that you can get great results with a facial and products that are gentle, safe, organic and eco-friendly. I am definitely getting some gift certificates for my friends!

Tracie Martyn offers the most special and effective facial and body treatments I’ve experienced anywhere. I’ve been a loyal client for 10 years (and counting)! A friend referred me to the salon when she enthusiastically told of a spa/body treatment that actually reduced the appearance of cellulite. I tried my first body treatment 10 years ago, was truly amazed by the effects, and have been a devoted client ever since. One of my favorite treatments, and one that I regularly go for, is the signature Resculpting Facial – which starts at under $300. After trying other facials and treatments at various spas, I haven’t found anything that remotely compares to Tracie Martyn – either in quality of treatments, the premium placed on client services, or the incredible restorative and lasting effects of the treatments. I use her amazing line of skincare products as my daily regime – and now there is a fantastic “Shakti” Resculpting Body Lotion…I use it all over! In addition, there's a real commitment to the wellbeing and beauty of the individual from the inside out, at every age - and it's felt the minute you walk in the door. The salon is a sanctuary – with special attention given to creating a calming, relaxing, visually beautiful experience (and Tracie Martyn now has an aromatherapy blend called “Shanti Space Lift Mist” which fills the rooms with the most delightful scent of tangerine and lotus flower). It’s a true get away in a bustling city – a place where it’s possible to focus on doing something caring and regenerating for oneself. I have always had a wonderful experience, deeply relaxing and beautifying!

This place is such a rip off! Maybe it's okay if you have time and money to waste, but come on!!! Way overpriced for what you get. Silly, silly, silly! Do yourself a favor and just through $400 out the window or donate it to charity if you have too much cash on your hands. You can get a much better facial in about twenty other places for a fraction of the cost. Just a stupid waste of cash.

Pros: not crowded

Cons: Insanely expensive;snobby staff; overpriced products; waste of money and time

I tried the Tracie Martyn Salon for the first time yesterday after reading about the treatments in Vogue, NY Magazine, Allure and many more. There is a reason soooo many celebrities go to Tracie Martyn! (Madonna, Sandra Bullock..) The treatments are fabulous. I had the Deep Cleansing Facial that included microdermabrasion and oxygen. My skin looks fantastic, no more dullness. Yoshiko did my facial and she was very gentle. The whole experience was unbelievable. And when I was leaving......Kate Winslet had just gotten a treatment! I highly recommend buying a package of treatments if you are getting married or have a big event coming up or if you are just like me....pregnant and want to keep up with looking the best you possibly can!

I've been having facials for 20+ years now, and this one was truly exceptional! Very relaxing and my skin still looked better days after. In fact, I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in 6 years and she said, "You look great! You've had some work done, haven't you". (I haven't - and it made me feel good!) Their products are amazing too, especially the pads to make one's eye bags disappear (they work!) and their Firming Serum. I understand that they've developed all their own products. Cool. The best thing about the place is the ambience. I'm so tired of sterile looking big business chains. I walked into a serene, beautiful brownstone type of space, with soft classical music playing. The girls at the desk couldn't have been more charming and gracious (as opposed to the girls at my last facial who were having a very loud discussion about,"so she says... then I says...") The facialist was really professional and talented. An overall great experience. You can see that Tracie Martyn has really put her heart into this whole picture. I've got my 1 month appointment set up already.

After reading about this salon's "one of a kind" treatments, I decided to try it recently. I was not impressed. The treatment is simply a machine that stimulates the face muscles and can now be found at many salons in NY at 1/4 of the price. The results were completely gone within 48 hours. Be prepared to drop $500 to have a treatment as they try to pressure you into buying the insanely expensive products they sell. Overrated- this place has had its 15 minutes.

Tracie Martyn facials are the best in class. Over the years I have been hearing about her resculpting facials, but was loyal to my current facialist. Well, I decided to finally try it out and I was really wowed by the incredible results, the wonderful service and the salon's personal warmth. Now I know why she has such a following. This is the best place to go before a special event - you'll come out feeling like one of her celebs! You have to try the firming serum too. Remarkable results for tightening the skin. Thanks Tracie!

I have had my fair share of facials and though it feels nice, I’ve never really appreciated the practice. I usually end up walking away feeling clean but blemished, not that I don’t love a good extraction. When Vanessa, my Tracy Martyn aesthetician, administered the Resculpting Facial, the results were immediate; two days post-facial and it just keeps getting better. Not only is my jaw-line more defined but, my cheek bones - which I’ve never considered attractive - are more prominent and elegant. I’m getting married in October and have already scheduled another Resculpting facial and am considering the Resculpting Body Treatment as well. Thank you Tracie Martyn for your innovative methods and Vanessa for your professionalism and warmth.
