If not great very close...
by Nigelnyc
Been three times and that is a lot for me as I like trying different places every week but it is very hard to go for other options when this one is always present. Last time I went I had the steak and hands down better than the majority of these exclusive "steak only" places in manhattan. One of the best restaurants in manhattan bar none.
Go to local Italian joint

Love this place. Get table in back room. Feel like you are transported to a backyard in Tuscany. Everything is awesome here including the service. Favorites are the octopus salad and guanciale pasta.
Italy in NYC

Bottom line this is one of the best italian meals I have had outside of Italy. Completely blown away.
Really good food@ Crispo

Absolutely outstanding and can't wait to go back!
Rustic and comfortable surroundings; informed and friendly service, and some of the best and most reasonably priced Italian food I've ever had.
Great Little Hidden place!!!

Don't let the outdoor appearance of the area fool you! This place is really great! As I was walking towards Crispo I thought no way this cant be it, because the area is not all that great.. and you wouldnt think that the restaurant could be good.. but it was :)
It was my mom's birthday this past saturday and we felt like italian so we decided on Crispo.. having read some of the reviews I thought we should give it a try and I am really glad we did. We sat in the garden/outdoor seating area in the back and it was really cute. The waitress gave us enough time to decide on our orders and gave us great recommendations; she was really nice. Also, the food was yummmyyy!! I would definitely recommend this place and cant wait to go back!!!
- Pros: Great food, great lil outdoor garden and service :)
GORGEOUS space along an ordinarily dull stretch

I wondered how many times I had walked past Crispo before I finally noticed it last weekend.
The gorgeous refub industrial glass & metal doors onto the sidewalk are what drew my attention.
Once inside I was amazed at the decor. Simply stunning. Incredible use of the old and industrial in a beautiful manner. Certainly, not a new idea, but Crispo has done it so well your eye is constantly drawn to other impeccable details.
I have not yet the opportunity to sample the menu - but can tell you their drink selection is as varied as the ornamentation.
Inspired infusions that tempt you to try more than you ought in an evening.
Bonus - Pork Slap, on tap!
Great date spot - put this one on your list.
- Pros: Stunning use of salvage
Love this place!

I came upon this place recently by accident and I'm glad I did. This place is amazing! The quality of the food and the portions are a steal for their prices. I had the branzino and it was great. Anyone who claims they got food poisoning from fish must have already had a bug because you don't get food poisoning that quick from food. Definitely a must try and will definitely be back again soon!
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: None
food poisoning! avoid the fish!
by newyorkeats
I went to Crispo recently and suffered from food poisoning due to the fish I had there. I felt very nauseous immediately afterwards. Both the salad and fish were mediocre. There are many better Italian restaurants in the city and many better restaurants in the meatpacking/w village area.
- Pros: decor
- Cons: food poisoning
Great Food

I love this place. My friend and I go here every few months and have not been disappointed once. The food is good the staff is very nice and they have a great wine selection. It's a great restaurant for small parties or a romantic dinner for two.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: none

If you haven't had a chance to experience all that the Crispo menu has to offer....Now's the time!! On Sunday, November 8th, Crispo is presenting "La Famiglia". It's a four course "abbondonza" style supper.. beer, wine, tax and tip are included in the $50minimum cash donation, and %100 of the proceeds go directly to Adrianna Cavanagh and Nathen Trueblood, two children who are battling Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. The chefs at Crispo have been planning this special menu for months, and invite anyone with a big appetite, and a big heart to share in this unique dining experience. Make your reservations now! The event starts at 2pm. The children and your bellies will thank you!!
