Master Herbert focuses in on all areas of development - the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The curriculum is set up so your growth is accumulative and the students are all focused and friendly. It's open to all levels and backgrounds and results show within the first week! Training at WMAC is priceless! I look forward to many more years...

Incredible Find!

Success! After a long and exhausting search for a gym that wouldn’t be boring, I finally came upon this school and took advantage of their $20 trial class.
The vision and structure is well rounded and perfect for the hectic NYC lifestyle. The instructors are both knowledgeable and talented in the discipline. And the school is welcoming and efficiently diversified for all levels of expertise and training. The classes kicked me back into shape and created a fantastic outlet for the daily pressures of life and career.
The past 2 years with this school have changed my life. This school holds the secret for balancing serious health, fitness and an artistic outlet with the full and busy professional and social life of a young New Yorker.
Don’t hesitate, just do it!
- Pros: instructors, diversity, flexibility
- Cons: 4th floor walk up
Amazing School
by CarolG2010
I have been a student at WMAC for over 10 years. Due to the extraordinary teachings of Master Herbert I have learned so much not only in martial arts but it has also helped me in my life. The students and instructors at the school are just so incredible and helpful I have learned so much and am still on the journey of knowledge. I truly have found a home away from home.
- Pros: Best school in town
I don't get it.

I checked out this school because I heard a lot about it, but I wasn't impressed. I didn't find that it offered any of the "art" in martial arts. I thought it was too expensive too.
It will change your life
by garbie01
When I moved to the area I looked at dozens of Martial Arts studios before I chose WMAC. I signed up because the instructors looked sharp, there were classes every day of the week, and the location was accessible from almost anywhere in Manhattan. I have stayed for more than 2 years because of the people. No matter if you are there for your first class, or one of the many people that have been training there for more than 10 yrs, you will feel both welcome and challenged every time you walk through the door.
- Pros: Frequent classes, excellent instructors, diversity of students (female/male-young/old)

After 8 years of studying various martial arts styles, I have been most impressed with this school. The techniques are physically challenging; the self defense is effective; and the forms are beautiful. All instructors are first rate, and students of every level are given the chance to study under the master himself.
What a place

I move around a lot because of work and try to study martial asrts wherever I go. I stumbled across this place by luck and now wish I could stay in New York forever - just to work with the instructors and students at this school. I haven't seen this kind of dedication and skill level at any other place, period. Sabumnin will really blow your socks off if you give it a try. He will bring out the best in you.
- Pros: Excellect Instruction, Beautiful Space, Varied curriculum
Warrior Family
by lena viddo
Mother of 2, wife, artist, creative events director & producer, & 2nd degree blackbelt, I have been a student of Master Herbert @ World Martial Arts Center for 10 years. Both my son & daughter are students at WMAC, & am so grateful to the school for the community it offers me as an individual, us a family, and to all who walk through the door. HapKiDo, as a way of life, practice and discipline as taught to me by Master Herbert, has been empowering in every way allowing me to access the strength discipline & focus I never otherwise knew that I had. Master Herbert & the instructors at WMAC, live and breathe Martial arts, teaching & preserving the traditional way, yet applying modern techniqes & approaches appropriate to our fast paced busy NYC lives. Try it, you'll be hooked. I was, am, and always will be!
- Pros: authentic, inspiring, friendly
