Best value for your money
by shelbietang at Citysearch
This studio is a great value for the money. The web scheduler is convenient and allows you to see how many people are signed up for a specific class, thereby bypassing the negative experience of a previous poster concerning the 2-person minimum for holding a class. There are many rules here, but the great instructors, clean environment, nice equipment, and unbeatable price outweighs those considerations
- Pros: Lowest price I've seen, long hours, many classes to choose from
- Cons: Rules and regulations
Got to Business, a good thing for paying by the hour
by travelgal2go at Citysearch
I went in with passbook for an introductory class then a level 1 trial class. It was my first experience with pilates and having coordiation found instruction easy. The facility is clean and ventilated. I was one of 4 people. The female instructor, an owner noticed small details for correction and was not ample to chit chat or allow it in class which is fine by me. For convience of location it was great.
PS- I will be rating other yoga studios in Manhattan so check my other reviews for comparison
- Pros: good east side location, clean and ventilated, business minded
- Cons: business minded, no shower or dressing room
Beware: awful, degrading, humilating service

I went for the first time with a "trial" coupon. I was the only person at the class. Prior to the class, I was not told about any rules regarding what happens if only one person signed up for the class and ended up paying twice as much for one class. The manager said at one point, they would reimburse me due to the misunderstanding, but then an hour later, called me to tell me that the owner refused to reimburse me.
When I spoke with the owner, she yelled at me and told me that she was not in the business of giving out free classes just because there was obviously a miscommunication between myself and the staff members. She put me on speakerphone so "everyone" could hear what I had to say. After I said my peace, she picked up and said she understood that perhaps her staff should have explained things better but that she had already paid the instructor and my money went to paying for her. The owner had the gall to say that the money I paid "should be used to pay for the rent and other bills".
Rather than trying to appease my dissatisfaction and the error on her staff's part, she said that she didn't care if I didn't refer her studio to others because she knows that she has the best prices in town and people would sign up for her classes because of that. then she essentially hung up on me.
As great as the deal of $25 may be, definitely not worth the humiliation and bad treatment I received. I've been taking pilates for over 5 years now. YOU CAN DO BETTER. STAY AWAY! Also, 1) they charged me a surcharge that they were not suppose to charge. and 2) it's clear that while perhaps the instructors are good, the studio doesn't care about the clients or even the instructors but rather only making money.
- Cons: Cramped rooms. Dangerous where the machines were only about a feet apart from other.
Excellent Pilates Classes at Very Reasonable Rates
by duranie70 at Citysearch
I love the classes here, once you start seeing results, it is addictive. This location is very nice, machines are new, the web scheduler is a fantastic and convenient feature. You can make sure days in advance that you are signed up for a class with your favorite instructor before it fills up.
They give alot of individual attention in a class setting. This studio gets my vote.
Great find.

One of the best deal in town. At $25 a class, I just can't find anything else cheaper (and better). Ann is truly amazing, she won't let you slack. I was never an atheltic person before pilates, and was never able to keep up with any other classes. But with this, after just a couple of weeks, I can see my body slowly changing, tightening up. The website scheduler also helped me alot. I would sign up days before, so I won't let myself get out of it no matter what the weather was. The only "downer" is that the changing room is very small, and only 2 of them.
- Pros: effective, location, good teacher
- Cons: small changing room
Great strength workout

It's the one of the few places in the city that offers group reformer classes - most others are expensive private classes. Ann, the owner, is a very good teacher. She is tough but encouraging. The classes are small - unlike the huge yoga studios. Ann walks around and corrects your form.
- Pros: Price, Staff, Good equipment
- Cons: No real locker area
An affordable reformer class!
by ali347 at Citysearch
I've been looking for a really good pilates class offering reformer techniques. And I finally found it with Reforming New York. For the price of what most people pay for mat classes-- $25, I have the use of a reformer in an attentive small class environment.
Ann is really amazing! She really cracks the whip and tries to make sure you are doing your exercises correctly both breathing and form. She's the best and I think I'm going to be addicted!
- Pros: reformer classes, top level 1 teacher, small classes
- Cons: , bathroom outside, need more hours

Group Pilates classes with reformer machines for every student. Private lessons, massage, a variety of books, videos and music available.
A real treat!
by jenkatz10 at Citysearch
I always leave this class in a good mood. Kind of like when you get a facial or take vitamins - you know you just did something good for yourself. Anne is a fantastic instructor. She attentively watches over each student, making sure he/she is in proper form. Most pilates classes offer little more than a mat for group classes, at an average price of $15/class. Here you get your own machine! The package deals are a great bargain. Just don't try to get out of a cancellation fee for missing an AM class (reservation required). Further incentive to not sleep in on a Saturday morning.
Fit at Last
by dogwoman at Citysearch
I am a 50 year old woman and I was totally out of shape, but thanks to Anne, I am feeling fit and confident. Anne is a fantastic teacher, concise and patient. The studio has modern equipment and is very clean. Also, the classes are affordable and small. For the price to be able to use a machine is heaven. All I can say is, Thankyou Anne
