Awesome Place for NYE

Loved the place. Had an amazing new years there last year. Would like to repeat.

• Pros: Beautiful, good food and drinks, great people

new years eve 2008

Yep, the deco was great, beautiful building, service was fab and top notch, but as far as the food goes......YUK!! Raw salmon sandwich, pastie filled with? Meatloaf mini burgers. The only thing good was the pig-in-a-blanket. The dance floor was big but unless your a 20 year old and just like to stand on it and text-msg your friends, there's no room for dancing (how do these kids get the $ for this kind of event anyways?). Make sure you get the Royal Ultra VIP or higher, you'll have your own personal area minus the kiddie crowd down stairs.

Over the top..

This is the last time I come to this place for a party. the staff was arrogant and rude. Not accomodating at all. You literally get lost in this place since its so big. Crappy smappy bathrooms for the type of hype. If you're not vip you're not going to be seated. Overall bad experience. And overpriced drinks.. Skip!!

Great for Grand Events

I attended a Halloween party at Capitale and this place is pretty impressive (visually). I usually stay away from clubs in general, but made an exception to go to Capitale after seeing the interior on the web site. It really is... very beautiful inside.

Before Capitale, this place used to be a huge bank. There isn't a more beautiful venue downtown. It's something from "Eyes Wide Shut" so if you want to have your wedding here, I recommend it. Maybe you can do a masquerade theme. However I don't think this place has a bar, unless I missed it. They can set up a make-shift bar though, anywhere. This is really for dining and classy events.

• Cons: Expensive!

Impressive Decor

Its gorgeous here in every respect -- whether its for a night out in a club or for dinner and a play, Capitale never fails to disappoint. The place is spacious and the decor is fantastic. Very posh spot indeed, in the heart of Chinatown.

Rang in 2006 at Capitale

Had the Best News Years. Two entrances which eliminated any wait to get in. Then you walked into the most amazing space, no wonder people get married there. There were 4 rooms to party in, like 10 bars setup throughout, and the staff was friendly. I spent most of my night upstairs drinking, dancing and meeting some really nice people. The crowd was great and everyone was dressed to impress. The food was excellent, though it could have been organized better as there were some rude NYers (standing in front of the plates/ handing them out to 20 friends that cut the line). But it was worth the wait, I sample a bit of everything and all was delicious! My night ended 4:30am and it only took 5 minutes to get my coat. Evening began and ended perfectly.

New Year

My friends & I had a great time for New Years Eve. The food was outstanding (a little hard to get to). We spent most of our time in upstairs in VIP. By far one of the best New Years I have had in a long time. I would absolutely go back next year .

miserable experience

I recently attended - or tried to attend - a halloween party at the capitale - I was in line at 9:50 because doors were to be open at 10:00 - having learned that the doors open at 10pm to those who previously purchased tickets. The people who hadn't purchased tickets and would be purchasing them at the door for 50 dollars had to wait in a seperate line and we were told that we wouuld be let in at 11pm - after an hour waiting in the cold we were told it would be another 30 minutes to an hour wait - the bouncers who were reporting this were all rude and hard-asses - the place is a waste of time and money

• Pros: beautiful exterior
• Cons: expensive, snobby rude staff

This events facility's ballroom can host posh dinner parties for 700 or cocktails for 1,500.

Epic Establishment

If I were to marry or win the lotto, I would throw a party at Capitale in a hearbeat. A restored bank, catherdral ceilings, the whole place is unreal. I went to the Dennis Leary Benefit, the 50 Cent party, Halloween and a few more. Every time I go, I have a great night. Highly recommend this spot for parties, events, or weddings!
