An eclectic selection of up-and-coming designers converge in this bright Meatpacking District storefront.

The Scene
The first thing that attracts the eye upon entering Dernier Cri are the shop's rugs--they're large cow pelts of various colors and patterns. It's the Meatpacking District--get it? The decorating scheme is quirky, but the atmosphere is all business--racks of clothes and accessories are laid out around a central desk area where busy staff congregate (no greeters here) and fashionistas rush to seek help with the store's merchandise.
The Goods
Featuring mostly young British brands, Dernier Cri's selection is very fashion-forward and eclectic. Labels like Mint, Preen, Frost French, Circle by Mara Hoffman and even pieces by Marjan Pejoski, best known for designing Björk's infamous swan dress, are mixed in with hanging lamps made from umbrellas, spotted string bikinis, scented candles, shell-decorated belts and tie-dyed stretch jerseys. You may not find something to buy, but the browsing's worth the trip.

despite the name, this shop is anything but a last cry... very cool, creative finds. definitely way ahead of the fashion game. i especially love the funky jewelry!

I love the clothes, but one of the best things about Dernier Cri is the staff - they are all incredibly friendly and helpful. I love shopping here.
