User Reviews for Pa-Kua Center of Manhattan

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Pa-Kua center of Manhattan is located on the corner of 38th Street and Sixth Avenue on the Fourth floor. This martial arts, healing and meditative studies school is perfect place to start improving your life and how you feel about yourself. The school and the training is unpretentious and comfortable unlike martial art franchises and the trendy gyms. You can feel comfortable and actually enjoy the time you spend here learning the knowledge of the ancient Orient which is up until the last decade or so has been very limited to the Westerners. There are studies like the martial arts to learn the art of simple but very effective self defense, various yoga and meditation classes to improve the mind and body, healing techniques to better yourself as well as the ancient weapons studies to learn the self discipline and the warrior mentality to create a better living.

Pros: Exciting Classes, Convenient Hours, Friendly Instructors

I never heard of Pa-Kua before today but reading up on it through their websites it feels like second nature. I always wanted to study something close to home. I called right away they couldnt talk but they called me back with in minutes. I came down that night and I was ready to study they let me try a free week with no pressure and seemed to take interest in whom i was i was really happy to be there. its also nice that the teachers are speaking english to. Ive had that problem before.

Pros: family oriented, great lesson plans, clean

Cons: no showers, third floor walk up

The Pa-Kua Center of Manhattan has one of the best all around martial arts programs I have seen. Not only do they offer physical training, they also have different seminars on Reflexology, Yoga and other internal methods to balance the mind, which is good for someone living in New York. Their weapons schools are very comprehensive. The Masters and instructors are very friendly, open and accessible at all times. There is a true atmosphere of family at this center and I highly recommend it for both adults and children.

Its nice to see how the staff is so willing and flexible to work with the students and potential applicants. They were so friendly and welcoming right off the bat. The teachers love to teach its so cool to see when people like what they do and try to show the students and get the students the same way.

Pros: family enviroment, easy schedule, flexible

Cons: no shower
