Awesome product, worst service ever!
by William Alvarez
I have been to Rice to Riches a thousand times (believe me, I've put a lot of pretty pennies in there during the past 3 years!), and there's no doubt this is my favorite spot for desserts in the city. Every time I can, I bring my family and friends with me to be delighted with the great flavors on rice pudding. HOWEVER, during my most recent visit on Sunday evening last week, I had the worst service I've ever received at any store in NY. I don't remember the name of the f@!##%ng girl who I asked for my order of caramel rice pudding, but the mother fukr yelled at me: "I'm already helping someone else", with an attitude and making a face like "oh, what a hassle to deal with you, idiot".
Promise I will NEVER come back to rice to riches for the rest of my life. There are many other people out there with good manners trying to get a job, get rid of this a** hole!
- Pros: Location (right across Lombardi's Pizza), tasty, freshly mad
- Cons: Terrible service, too expensive for such a small amount
Fantastic!
by JollyPro
The flavors are simply fantastic. Nothing else tastes quite like this and it's gluten-free for your non-gluten people. The store is cheerful and clean and very cool, and it's a perfect indulgence for yourself after a hard day's work or a movie night. Every out of town guest I have taken there has raved about it. Wish they would get rid of those unrecycle-able plastic containers. (And the staff uniforms are dorky and look like they are working for a fast food joint, but it's NOT!) Must try!!!
- Pros: unique, delicious, wonderful
- Cons: no organic selections, plastic non-recycled containers
Shame on them! Destroying the environment, the economy and a foreign country.

This place has awesome rice pudding! The downside - and why I can no longer go - is that they use plastic everything - super thick dishes and spoons, bottled water, and none of it is recycled or even recyclable. No conscientious person could eat there after seeing the amount of petroleum based products that are going to our NY landfills for the next million years. Shame on them! We asked an employee about recycling and she said confirmed that none of the products were recycled.
- Pros: Great rice pudding
- Cons: no recycling and everything is plastc
Expensive!
by wisebrain
The business model is good, it is very clean and trendy, but honestly it is $8 for a medium pudding which is truly outrageous. Yeah the flavor is good and you get a cute container, but seriously this is an indulgence.
- Pros: Trendy
- Cons: Expensive
SOOOOOOOO GOOD!!
by gbyeruby2sday
If you hate rice pudding, then you've never had Rice to Riches. It is THE BEST rice pudding you will ever eat. They have so many flavors, its tough to narrow it down to a couple, but we tried man made mascarpone, almond shmalmond, and tiramisu...they were AHHHHHMAZING! My husband doesn't like rice pudding, but when he tasted mine I couldn't pull it away from him. He's hooked now! He tried other rice puddings when we got back to Texas and none could compare, so we have it shipped now...YES they ship!! It's cheaper than flying to NY every month and it comes packaged well! GO TO RICE TO RICHES WHEN YOU VISIT NY! You won't be sorry.
- Pros: Thumbs waaaaaaay up for the rice pudding! EXCELLENT!!
- Cons: I wish they sold huge tubs of it!
Rice Pudding at its best; Containers not environmentally friendly
by rosemarielove
I am a fan of your wonderful rice puddings. You have truly created a unique product and people come from all over the world to have a taste. You are definitely a smart entrepreneur and I believe, as most of your customers do, that you have created a lasting brand. So, because I care about this wonderful planet that has been created for us, I am kindly asking you to consider using recyclable containers for your rice pudding. I feel as though it is such a waste to be throwing out these containers that can never be used again. It is very bad for the environment. You no doubt have created the best rice pudding, please create containers that are more environmental friendly.
Sooooo good

Finally went to Rice to Riches and I was in heaven! I'm a rice pudding fan... I even like those little Cozy Shack cups @ the supermarket. So when I heard about this place I had to try it out. It was amaaaazing! I had the cinnamon swirl warmed up with oatmeal cookie crumb topping... and finished the entire serving which I swore I wasn't going to do. It was so good though I couldn't help it! My friend had the rocky road... a bit too rich for me but also delicious. We sampled a few other flavors as well and every one was incredible. If you like rice pudding you have got to come here!
- Pros: Rice pudding heaven
- Cons: I walked out full but feeling a little guilty
Excvellent and very tasty rice pudding
by mayble19
This is not your typical milk and rice pudding. There is so much flavor and authenticity within this pudding. It taste homemade - like one you have never tasted. It is definitely worth the visit. I'm not a big fan of rice pudding, but this will automatically change your mind. Put the diet thing aside after you have tasted what this place has to offer.
- Pros: Will make you love rice pudding like you never believe it
- Cons: Pricey
The best rice pudding I've ever had!
by smiley_in_nyc
This has got to be the best tasting rice pudding I've ever had. I've tried the vanilla wafer, chocolate chip, eggnog (only available during the holidays) and the cheesecake flavors. They were all great! :) If you love homemade rice pudding (it really tastes homemade) then RICE TO RICHES is a MUST! ENJOY!
- Pros: Great tasting rice pudding, fast and friendly service even on busy days
- Cons: Not enough seating. :(
Awesome Concept
by cpbell14
My girlfriend and I went for the first time the other night and shared the Cheesecake/Raspberry combo. Amazing. Those who complain about the prices maybe don't realize that they include the taxes making it cheaper than Pinkberry, Ciao Bella and most any ice cream place. Servings are large and containers are great to take home and wash for other uses. I'm sold on the place!
- Pros: Rich, full flavors; great vibe; clean as a whistle
- Cons: Could use a wash basin for the bowls
