Wonderful Products, Staff, and Service!

had SO much fun here. I went to look at engagement rings at about five o'clock on a friday and discovered a few people having a glass of wine to celebrate another customers engagement. I felt bad at first for interrupting but they made me feel so welcome and immediately offered me some wine too! A salesperson instantly got up and focused on me and my many questions! My fiancee and I ended up getting a beautiful vintage inspired setting. We got to choose our own diamond and everything. I get constant compliments on it and the designer was really thorough when meeting with us, and made us feel very special. I plan on getting my bridesmaids gifts here too. Highly recommended!

Amazing Custom Micro Pave!!

Not only did Marisa's husband Douglas get us an excellent deal on our diamond, but he also made us a completely custom made setting that stops heads every time we go out.

Amazing Ring, Amazing Price

My boyfriend and I recently got engaged. His budget is not what would excite most jewelers, but we were given so much personal attention! We couldn't afford a diamond at the moment, but Douglas guided us to a really beautiful and unique setting for an excellent price. He said we can put a diamond in at a later date, but I love the way it turned out with a pink topaz so much, I might keep it this way forever! Seriously, if you're getting engaged soon, you should definitely check them out!

Disappointed

I walked into the store, and the woman behind the desk didn't ask to help. The guy was busy with another customer, so I looked at some bands on my own. When the guy came over, I told him what I was looking for. A lot of the rings on the display I was looking at did not have price tags. He asked me my price range, and when I told him, he picked up one of the unmarked rings and told me he could give me this one for $X, which was the maximum of the range I had told him. That's it. He could give me this one. It felt sleazy and unimpressive.

Dear Dancefeet, This is Marisa Perry and please let me apologize for the experience you had in our store. I have shared this with my staff and we feel terrible about it. And by the way, not having everything prices, is indeed my fault. Sometimes we are so anxious to get something out on the floor, that we fail to price it first or tags come off while cleaning or on photo shoots.

I am trying hard to make sure that that does not happen for a variety of reasons. And we try hard to provide a selection in all budgets, so the fact that you were offered one ring is crazy and indeed unimpressive. You should have been given a variety of options to work with. Thank you for pointing this out, so that I can train my staff better. Again, my deepest apologies. Selecting a ring should only be fun. Forgive us, Marisa Perry

Condescending Service

I was shopping for a Pave setting. The original setting I picked out in the store was a bit above my budget. Instead of working with me and my budget, a reasonable $3000, I was condescendingly guided, by Douglas, to find my setting on '47th Street'.

Perhaps the service I received was because I was only interested in a setting, perhaps it was because of my budget and, perhaps I would have had a different experience speaking with Marisa. Whatever the reason, this is not a business I would recommend.

The last positive review for this shop was over a year ago. I certainly understand why.

Dear Jer014430, I am so sorry that you had this experience in our store and am certainly not happy that it was with my husband Douglas, who designs and makes everything. What I don't understand is that we had in stock, numerous settings to offer you at this price point with quality that would exceed any on 47th St. He, himself makes several products for this price and why he did not think to show them to you is beyond me. We make settings with Client's stones all the time. Many ladies wish to reset their current ring or some people inherit stones or purchase one elsewhere, and our main focus it to make a beautiful setting. I have shared this review with Douglas and our entire staff as well as designed many new Vintage settings in this budget. Although another venue would have been preferred, thank you for giving me a heads up on this situation, so I can make sure that it never happens again! Best of luck to you, Marisa Perry

Gorgeous engagement rings with second-to-none service.

In a perfect world all engagement ring shopping would end at Marisa Perry Atelier.

In all seriousness, my fiancee and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Marisa and her husband Douglas were beyond wonderful from start to finish. I went in thinking that I would never be able to afford anything in their shop on my non-profit salary and ended up with a "from the ground up" custom-made ring that was 3X the size of things I'd seen at Tiffany's, far more beautiful and less money.

Marisa and Douglas spent hour upon hour with me over the course of multiple consultations to ensure that I got exactly the design I wanted (all the while staying within my budget). The results were nothing short of artistry - an instant family heirloom.

Even though we've been engaged for months now, I still catch my fiancee admiring the ring when she thinks no one is else is watching. Walking into their little shop might be the second best decision I've ever made.

UPDATE 5/7/2009 - Sure, their jewelry is amazing, but it's really Marisa and Douglas - the people - who continue to amaze me. It has been a year since I purchased my fiancee's engagement ring from them and yet, the high level of service they provided from moment I walked it has never waned.

If you were to ask me what differentiates Marisa and Douglas from their peers, it's the level of caring they extend to their customers as well as their work. I never dreamed that I would end up loving the jewelers as much as the ring itself, but that's how things have turned out.

Marisa and Douglas are about people, service and creating the extraordinary. This is the reason I bought my engagement ring from them. This is the reason my fiancee and I returned for our wedding bands. This is the reason they are invited to the wedding.

Exquisite Work! Wonderful Service!

My fiancee and I had a wonderful time working on my engagement ring at Marisa Perry. We first met with Marisa, who was super helpful and let me try on lots of different ring options. Douglas, the designer gave us tons of one-on-one time and really helped us figure the best ring in our price range. He had no problem adjusting the ring to our exact liking, and it came out gorgeous!

Great Experience

From the moment I walked into Marisa and Douglas's store, I felt at home and knew I was in the right place. It was as if Douglas could read my mind in designing the engagement ring, which my wife's best friend has since called, "Her soul, captured in a work of art, on her finger." To this day, I have not seen a ring that matches her personality and style more perfectly. Marisa and Douglas not only provided the perfect ring (and wedding bands); they also provided a great and comforting experience during that nerve-racking pre-engagement time. I am happy to consider them not only the best jewelers I know, but also friends.
