Pick a different doctor!

Horrible experience. I went to this doctor after finding him online thinking he would be great. I visited this doctor twice thinking the second time would redeem the first but boy was I wrong.

First of all, the doctor is very impersonal. I waited for him for AN HOUR in a tiny boxed room to be seen. Once he did see me, he treated me like a cattle waiting in his stable. Disturbingly fake.

Secondly, the secretary/assistant was very rude. Horrible, horrible service. I don't care how much I have to pay for a different doctor but I will pay it. Anything beats the service of these people. Do yourself a favor and choose a different skin doctor.

DR KATZ a disappointment

Bruce Katz is a highly regarded cosmetic dermatologist - there's no disagreement there. Walk into his office (the Juva Skin Spa) and you'll see him plastered on magazine covers and a TV monitor that shows him on The View. Of course, you can't hear anything (the content) but the important thing there is to show patients he's so good he gets on TV.

I'm sure he's good with the fillers, injections, any anything else that's related to pure cosmetics. But in my experience, if you have a regular skin condition like acne, he's NOT the doctor for you. A few things bothered me about my appointment with him:

-Barely spent any time with me. I timed it out to about 4 1/2 minutes.

-All he did was jot notes down a folder (probably work from another patient). I proceeded to tell him that I just got some cortisone injections last week (from another doctor) for some blemishes. Ten seconds later, he pops his head up and tells his assistant to put X number of cc's in a syringe. He was about to inject my face w/ cortisone when I say "are you sure it's safe to get multiple injections in a given week'? He puts the syringe down and says "NO - your skin will get depressions (sink in). When did you get a cortisone injection?" He would have known had he listened to what I was telling him SECONDS before. He should be thankful that I wasn't talking about any allergic reactions to certain meds or something serious that could have been life threatening.

He gave me a topical Rx which I told him I had at home. So what did he do next? Told me to buy a face wash at the front desk (I stupidly agreed given I went through so much trouble just to get an appt with him) and he said to come back in 3 weeks. No thanks, doc.

His being rated a top dermatologist by New York magazine makes me doubtful of the validity of that entire list. What criteria do they use?

The only good thing about this appointment was the wait - I only had to wait about 20 minutes (and I was expecting to wait much longer).

I had an appointment some time in March with Dr. Frew for a skin check. There was a little bit of a wait but it was worth it. She did a full skin check and removed my moles. She made me fill very comfortable and was very thorough. Thanks Dr. Frew!

I am a patient of Dr. Katz and have been visiting the Juva Skin and Laser Center for a while. I get my Botox and Radiesse and all my skin treatments at the center this is a great dermatological care facility very updated with the latest in skin rejuvenating.

supportive and caring

I was referred to Dr. Pauporte for Moh's surgery she did an amazing job I don't even have a scar. She is very compassionate and caring. She was very supportive of me and my family I was so worry about this skin cancer and going through this procedure was of great concern to me. When I met her and she explained the procedure to me I knew she was the right doctor for me. I am very pleased with the results and very thankful for her support.

the place to go

I always wanted to do liposuction on my abdomen when I read about this new Smartlipo I could not wait for a consultation and I called the Juva Skin and Laser Center for an appointment with Dr. Katz. Well I have to say that my dreams came true I lost all that fat and my stomach is flat like a board. It was simple and quick. My mom picked me up and I had very little discomfort, I only took Tylenol, I had no bruising and very minimum swelling. I cant believe t was that simple. The nurse Helen she was so caring and took great care of me. If you are interested in smartlipo this is the place to go.

Wonderful experience!

I had a wonderful experience at Juva Skin & Laser Center. Dr. Bruck removed a large cyst from my leg and he was very professional and caring during my excision. My nurse Lisa was great too. I have been to Juva for both my daughter and myself and it has always been a great experience. The entire staff makes you feel comfortable during your visit.

problem solved!

I have been through other dermatologists before but noone could successfully seem to help me with my chronic rosacea. My wife had been to the juva medispa a few times before and had raved about the treatments she received from the skin care staff there and also mentioned there were physicians there as well. So I made an appointment with Dr Frew at JUVA. I waited only 10 minutes and she saw me. She was so sweet and caring and thorough. She helped me get my skin under control again. The staff was so warm and friendly. I'm a patient for life now!

An Amazing MediSpa

Juva MediSpa is amazing. They have different types of treatments that have really worked for my skin and body. The doctors and people that work here are very friendly and willing to help you with anything. They want you to understand what the procedure is that they want to do, how it will work for you, and make you look and feel better!
