My ears are still ringing

Robongi has very good Japanese dishes, as well as terrific sushi however, when I had dinner there recently, the music level was so loud that my companion & I could barely hear each other speak.

That does not make for a pleasurable dining experience but rather, it makes for a 'club scene', which is what I think they were trying to achieve.

While this might be great for those who are looking for this type of atmosphere, for the prices Robongi charges for food, they should stick to being a restaurant. Great music is fine, but it should be at a level that allows diners to have a conversation w/o shouting across the table.

Service can be improved upon with more attention given to those people who are already inside the restaurant, rather than trying to drag others in off the street, which is also what they were doing on that same night.

Once inside, we were neglected to the point where we had to chase down our server for the check. Not good.

Best Sushi in Hoboken

Is the person who wrote before me crazy? Or are they working for Teak!! I have lived in Hoboken since 2002 and I have ordered from Robongi about an average of once a week . No joke, I am addicted to sushi. Robongi is the only sushi restaurant in this town that is consistent., The fish is ALWAYS fresh. It is reliable and good. They get your order right when you order delivery and they are pretty quick too. In the summer they have sidewalk seating and the service is pretty good, plus its BYOB. It doesn't get much better than that! The only place that has better fish is Yama (the one on Carmine Street) in the city. Robongi rocks.

• Pros: Fresh Fish, Great Delivery, Consistent, BYOB, Outdoor Seating in Summer
• Cons: Not the most gorgeous place
