Best hidden bar in NY!
by furfree
I live across the street from this bar and its one of the best neighborhood places i've found! the bartenders are great, the jukebox music is awesome, and the "cowboy" bar feel is like a hidden gem!
- Pros: great drinks, cheap, bartenders, cowboy feel
- Cons: smells like beer everywhere
Good Music, Great Staff

Went here last night after a show at the Beacon Theatre. The girls working behind the bar were great fun and the service was excellent!
- Pros: Service
A smal taste of heaven
by tenderbartender
Saturday night at Yogi's was some of the most fun I've had in a really long time! The hotties behind the bar served us pitcher after pitcher of cheap brew at an amazing price. But anyone who's been to Yogi's know its not about what's served but HOW. These girls make partying an art! At one point when they were dancing on the bar a crowd was gorwing outside just to watch them through the glass door!If you want a night out you'll not soon forget Yogi's is serving it up and with fantastic style.
- Pros: BEAUTIFUL girls, cheap booze, fun crowd
- Cons: uuuummm.....
Beautiful barmaids
by wmek
Great bar that looks like a kip from the outside. A bar full of alcoholics and country music like Johnny Cash and Creedance Clearwater Revival. I went there with a group of Irish lads on holidays. Great for cheap pitchers although the beer wasn't great. The two barmaids had the best eyes I'd ever seen and not to mention their boobies. And they are very funny and can drink more than the lads. I can't wait to go back next October. Recommended!!
A fun, friendly dive with beers, bears, bras and country.

The Scene
A pink neon "bar" sign and carved wooden bear mark the entrance to this dive offering the sedate Upper West Side the same brand of raucous fun as its downtown counterparts, the Patriot Saloon. Older, bearded regulars mix with concertgoers from the nearby Beacon Theatre in a setting that feels more down-home than big-city, with its beer banners, multiple televisions and a giant American flag.
The Draw
The super-cool chicks behind the extra-long bar pour plenty of cheap pitchers for the predominantly male crowd. Not that there aren't a healthy number of females, as evidenced by the bras hanging all over. Women are encouraged to dance on the bar and everyone is encouraged to sing along with the jukebox that's constantly playing country classics from the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Willie Nelson. Hip? No. Chic? Definitely not. Just a good time for a no-frills crowd.
IT IS WHAT IT IS

Cute Chicks, flat cheap beer, country music, peanuts, weird smell, and an eclectic mix of yuppies and alcoholics. Everything a NYC "Dive" bar wants. Don't go there expecting anything other than getting drunk, doing singalongs (with the alcoholic who has been sitting there all day), and maybe not rembering the next day. And if you don't remember dropping a few hundred the night before on $6 & $7 pitchers, then the girls would love to have you back!
- Pros: You will get drunk if you want to
- Cons: standing along the bar
HOT BARTENDER
by tdolly
I was in Yogi's this Tuesday and had a great time! The bartender was a 6' blonde with the sexiest eyes i've ever seen! Not to mention the curves on this girl. Can she drink?!!! On top of that she's great with the buybacks. ( As long as she likes you!) So get your a** in there and order a PINK P*SSY! While your at it get one for her too!
- Pros: bartenders
- Cons: drunk rude clientele
Great dive bar
by callmemr
A hole in the wall, but a haven to anyone looking for an escape from the pretention of other UWS bars. The drinks are CHEAP and the music is country. Went in for the first time last saturday and even though the crowd is mostly guys the bartenders definately made up for the lack of women. The cute blonde chick yelled at the guys smoking in the bar and the hot asian one totally took the cake as the hottest thing in the bar. The girls are fast and fiesty and know what they're doing behind that bar because it got packed for hours but no one went thirsty. Overall awesome time, I'd definately consider becoming a regular.. especially to see those bartenders.
- Pros: Bridgette- the hot asian bartender, and drunk girls get up and dance on the bar!!
- Cons: too many guys
good dive
by gijoerice
Like most country dive bars, your best bet at Yogi's is in the middle of the weekday. That's when the real drinkers drink. Yogi's has the advantage over the other bars of this type in that it doesn't attract the frat/college/B&T crowd quite as much. It's just normal folks who want to listen to Hank and Merle while they pickle their livers.
- Pros: music, patrons, "not yet discovered by morons"
- Cons: spotty A/C
CLOSED! CLOSED! (THE OWNERS OPENED UP A NEW PLACE FURTHER UPTOWN)
by rebel1978
Unfortunately, Yogi's a.k.a. The Bear Bar, which has been a classic landmark dive bar for about 10 years was forced to close its door due to real estate greed! The good news is that the owners re-located futher uptown to 2171 Second AVe. between 111th and 112th St.. The bar is called The Duck. They didn't keep the name "Yogi's" because their still holding on to the hope that they 'll open a new Yogi's in the same area. So, go to The Duck. (It's amost a replica of Yogi's and the same jukebox from Yogi's has been moved to The Duck) The closest subway to The Duck is the 6 train station at 110th St. It's a fairly safe area still!!
- Pros: Jukebox, Cheap Drinks, Fun Atmosphere
- Cons: NONE!
