My friends and I visited on 7/12/08. It was way overcrowded, which made it extremely hot! I was sweating like crazy! I had a cherry vodka sour, and it was extremely watered down. Not work $13 at all! The music was mediocre. Also, the crowd was pretty young. Mostly early 20s. Since I am in my early 30s, I would've prefered more of a mix. Our cab driver couldn't find the exact location, so he let us off in the wrong spot. We had to walk the rest of the way!
Pros: Good place to people watch
Cons: Too crowded and not enough space to move around

I attended a Birthday Party for a friend of mine. My friend had a private room- or so I thought. When my friends and I walked in, the room was being shared with another party which I thought to be real tacky considering birthday packages are $1000+. The cocktail waitress took our drink orders and didn't give us our change. She disappeared and when we found her we had to remind her she owed us change. She was very slick and tried to play the "ditzy" role like she forgot. The music wasn't all that when it was playing, there were often long pauses because a boxing match was on. The rest of the crowd through out the venue were young twenty-somethings. The drinks were overpriced considering the set-up and location. $17 for grey goose and cranberry and you can't even taste the liquor is ridiculous! I would never go here again under any circumstances!!!! It was garbage.
Pros: Only for sports fans to watch sports events.
Cons: Music, service, staff

I booked a 40th Birthday surprise party in the Remy Room for my husband in NY with the birthday package. All was good and final payment was made. Soon after little changes came to light ...no problem. The night of the party ladies were not allowed to bring flat shoes (flip flops) inside, grown azz people were frisked to point of harassment. I was told there wasn't a minimum tab inside the room come to find out because the club was over packed management wanted to allow people into my private party. (needless to say it didn't go down like that). Each drink ordered by wait staff came with a tax and tip included. The outside security has a SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH AGGRESSION (work on that people). I hope that someone adheed to comments placed and correct them before someone is hurt. A night that started out so special was ruined because the club didn't stand by their limits and allowed way too many people inside. It began to seem as if money ruled...buying a bottle get in a room..people just pay attention to the goings on when/if you go there. If the room is rented for the night (especially at their rates) it shouldn't be a issue because the club is over crowded. Beware and ask many questions before signing on the bottom line (unless it doesn't matter to you..to each his/her own). All in all my husband was surprised, my guests had a good time; its a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Wouldn't do it again at my expense. OH BY THE WAY a Cosmo & a Grey Goose w/Cranberry juice $33. You do the math.
Cons: Waiter service ---- tax & gratuity including

I went to the 40/40 to see the Lakers, Celtics finals game. I have been to all three locations, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and now New York, and as usual I had a great experience. It's something about the place and its staff that makes me feel at home. Though it was crowded, I recieved everything in a timely manner, and my food was great! If you are a burger fan, the mini burgers are a must! I will countinue to visit the 40/40 for all the big games. I give it 5 stars! Good job Jay-Z
Pros: A Million Flat Screens
Cons: If your team loses!

Yeah , i read some negative reviews here , but you know what everyones expireince is very different. Listen , if you live in NY you are used to getting searched , mild rudeness, so-so service . This place is not bas at all . Yeah its overpriced but it has a great ambience , great bartenders , food and a cool mix of people. I come here on saturdays after work around 8 and sometimes i stay pass 11. You see all kinds of people , white-collar , b-day bashes and the usual club goer mix. Listen , u need to come see it and not expect much but just have a good time, watch the game and drink!!!! love my 40/40!!

The last thing I ever expected from the 40/40 club was poor service and that is exactly what I received. I was accused of f**king in the rest room by security because I was helping my friend fix her clothing. Security aimed there flashlight through the bathroom stall while my friend was fixing her clothes. Never did the bathroom attendant say two people could not be in the stall at the same time (which by the way was as filthy as a greyhound hound restroom on a bad day); I was charged $250 for a bottle of grey goose that was 60% water. (Then they had the nerve to try to add an extra $100 to the bill) and the security was very nasty and rude. I was devastating the way my friends and I were treated. They are a very discriminatory clubs that caters to people to whom they are familiar with. We were scrutinized about dress code and once inside half the club was out of dress code and cheifing like it was legalized. I was search like I was a new inmate on the Rikers Island my purse was search item by item; while other patrons walked in and was pat down and entered the club. The only good thing I can say about the 40/40 club was the music but everything thing else was the pits. The service there was worse than to a corner bar that sells $5 drinks out of a plastic cup. Security had no boundaries. To top it off they kept my friends Credit card and coat because she refused to sign a bill for to charges 2x the amount of what was purchased. It’s shady business up in there.
Pros: music
Cons: service, security

if you like to share you space with the gh*tto element of ladies who are coming to the club because they think that they are going to meet jay-z, or if you like nasty, hot breath men touching you, or if you like to have to wait an hour for the "VIP" section that you paid for in advance, or last but not least.. if you like to walk through an impossible crowd to get a disgustingly funky unisex bathroom... this is the place for you!!! message to jay-z.. why would you have an establishment open where YOU wouldn't even party?!
Cons: watered down expensive drinks that give hangovers, undesirable element of people, nasty bathrooms, unprofessional service

I love Jay-z, i love NYC and i love anything FREE. I was at the 40/40 club and i had a blast...it was crowded of course..but what NYC club isn't, the drinks were pricey...but i saw lebron james, so it was worth being there. I love the club and i would recommend any of my friends to go.
Pros: ITS JAY-Z
Cons: Crowded

This place was the worst club ever. We paid for a vip room, and half way through they were letting random people in. The place was so packed that you couldn't even walk. Also some guy tried to untie my shirt. Most of the men that went there were pigs. They were trying to get with any girl they could. I would never go there again and i would not recommened this place to anyone. Also the drinks were so expensive. It was $18 for a long island icetea.
