Cuban food is so good when you do it right

Great place, friendly service, and fantastic food.

Cuban music playing in the background adds to the ambience. There a little off the beat and track as far as location, but it's definitely worth finding. As another reviewer said, A midtown gem.

My first Time

I visit NYC for the first time and I took a bad experience with my friends they invite me to eat the best Cuban food, when we arrive at Havana Restaurant it was nice welcoming and we order drinks for five peoples still was OK, but when we order the appetizer (they call sabores) was so really bad, we order pork chops trust to me bad, bad the quality is too poor, my friend order Cornish hen it was very dried look if they cook 30 days before, it was bad experience. We never, never going to come back. I'm sorry may be the chef never went to the school. Thats real

Amazing Place!!! Great Food, Drinks & Service!!!

I went to Havana NY with my husband for dinner this past tuesday and we had such a great time there, everybody was so inviting and nice. We sat at the bar and those Mojitos...Oh wowww those Mojitos are amazing, and the bartender was really lovely ! We had some appetizers and it was really good, fresh and tasty. We were there few years ago but the place has totally change,it's better everywhere you look.Better service, better atmosphere which make a real unforgettable experience. I totally recommend this restaurant that make you feel like home, a Cuban home. Definetely coming back!

Great every time

I have an amazing experience every time I go to Havana. The owners are extremely friendly and always go above and beyond to make their customers happy. They have amazing mojitos made with all fresh fruit! Pineapple, coconut, watermelon, strawberry, mango...they have it all... Ambiance can't be beat when looking for an authentic cuban restaurant. It is down to earth and comforting from the fun, upbeat music, to the art on the walls. Food is fresh and delish. Plus they have an awesome new wine list. Great wines that are super affordable. I recommend Havana to anyone looking for a great experience without breaking the bank.

Great experience!

I came by this place by coincidence. My girlfriend and I were out looking for a drink. After we stumbled into Havana NY we sat at the bar and had literary the best mojitos ever!

After a few drinks we got hungry and decided to stay for dinner. The manager walked us right past the kitchen and brought us to the main dining room located at the back of the restaurant. It was like being in Cuba. White table cloth with flowers and candle light. Exposed brick and very cool Cuban prints on the wall.

The server was very friendly and knew his stuff very well. A sommelier came by to say hi and talked to us about wine. He offered a few options all very reasonable. To our surprise they had very good wines priced much lower than other restaurants we frequently dine in. My girlfriend had the Chilean seabass and I had the duck. The Fish was creamy and tender with an awesome spicy mango salsa. The duck was zesty and full of flavour topped with a pineapple and and white wine sauce out of this world!

We highly recomend this place. And yeah; they have live Latin Music every other Saturday.

GREAT FOOD

I was at Havana New York for dinner with my wife, and it was one of the best nights out .

We order the Havana special for 2 as an appetizer wich it was a great dish to start our meals, it included lobster empanadas and some grilled shrimps.Our main dishes came,grilled skirt steak, the well recognized CHURRASCO AND THE CHIMICHURRI SAUCE acompanied with some yellow rice and black beans, and my wife was amazed with the so tasty ROPA VIEJA shreded beef in a creole sauce, for desset we had the TRES LECHES CAKE a very rich in flavor sponge cake.

And what to say about the mojitos and sangria their deliciuos, we are definitly comin back again.

The very good service we recived from the staff is already a plus everybody was so nice to us.

Terrible Service

Went to Havana NY on Friday night with a group of about 10. We went after work for dinner and lots of drinks. Needless to say, it was a terrible experience. The waiter took over 30 mins to come over to the table, and once the manager was made aware of the situation, service did not improve.

The waiter actually came over to me, pointed his finger in my face and stated, "I am in big trouble with my manager because of you."

The bill came to over $400 for our entire experience, and I would recommend Havana's schedule additional waitstaff to handle the evening rush and prevent extreme rudeness to their customers.

Good for Cheap Eats

Good neighborhood place for cheap eats. The seafood soup is delicious. Cubano is good but, Sophie's is way better. Overall, food is good, decor is average and service is excellent. If you are in the neighborhood, it's a good place to get something to eat.

MIDTOWN GEM

I eat here all the time! It's a great place to fill your stomach and escape the drudgery of work and all of its stresses. Try a Blue Havana! It will certainly get you in the right mood. There's an elderly gentleman that seats patrons from time to time - ask him for two Blue Havana's and you'll be off to the right start. Here are three things you are assured to get: great food, great service and great prices! Three cheers for Havana-NY!
