Not a immigration Lawyer
by JuMdel at Citysearch
One year and a half ago I payed a visit to this lawyer. I was desperate, my visa was expiring in a few days and I wanted and needed to stay in the US. According to him there was nothing I could do, that I should just go back to where I came from. It took ten minutes and there goes $250. The next day I called, I had a question, his reaction was: "I dont have time for this". What do you mean??? he had time to get my money but now that I have a question he throws that at me?.
Two days latter I was able to find an amazing lawyer that thanks to her knowledge Im right here in NY writing this complaint.
He has no clue, no knowledge of the immigration laws and have no emotion to deal with people that are in this situation.
- Cons: bad person, bad lawyer
Doesn't Listen; Aggressively Rude
by H1202 at Citysearch
Friends of mine in need of immigration counsel were referred to Avirom & Associates. As an attorney, I called on their behalf to make introductions and try to help bridge the language gap. When I asked to speak with Attorney Avirom for 2 minutes as a professional courtesy, he got on the phone and spent the 2 minutes in a nasty diatribe basically attacking me for bothering him when, if I wasn't the client, he didn't know why I was calling and if I was the client, he didn't know why I wasn't in his office paying for a consultation like "he always does." Bottom line: don't bother. Any attorney who doesn't listen isn't worth a dime.
