Just Wonderful
by cynabon
I just had dinner with a friend at Lucy and I was extremely pleased. The service was exceptional and not slow at all like the other two reviewers stated. If anything the servers were overly attentive. We got our food in a decent amount of time and did not wait long at all. The food was great and so were the drinks. In my book this restaurant gets an A in my book.
- Pros: Great service, exquisite decor
- Cons: Wish the dessert menu was more extensive.
Good food, slow service
by banjo112
Recently checked this place out for a friend's birthday. There were 8 of us, and were promptly seated at a spacious table. The food was pretty good, but the service was so slow. Even ordering a beer took like 30 minutes! There seemed to be enough servers/helpers, but as the previous reviewer stated, they were disorganized.
Under new management, the food could flourish. Good food, great location, slow as hell service. Dinner took 3 hours!
- Pros: Good food and location
- Cons: Not terrible, but slow service
disaster
by foxtrophy
Amaturish, sadly and badly run the timing in the kitchen must be chaotic.
long waits between courses two people order the same thing at the same table
can get delivery five minutes apart...and the food is uneven,it's a pretty room
but the incompetent management is glaring, the place sorely needs
a Chef but not just someone who can concoct recipes, someone who can
organize a kitchen.drinks come with agonizing delays this can only be a result
of poor preparation and haphazard setup, getting fed is a choir, nothing seems to go right
I've been there three times hoping against hope for an improvement mostly because
i like the decor and it is covenient.
i spent twenty years working in the restaurant business and seldom saw a poorer run
operation the best thing that i can say about this place is that there are plenty of restaurants within two blocks.
- Pros: decor
- Cons: sevice
Very pretty but vegetarians won't be happy
by beanster830
Great atmosphere; roomy. It was nice to dine at a large table where other diners aren't in your lap. However, the only vegetarian options I saw other than salad were the cheese empanadas (bland and very greasy) and rice and beans (super bland). I dont remember seeing any fish options. Service was good and prompt.
- Pros: great atmosphere, good service, privacy and space - you're not on top of other diners
- Cons: bad for vegetarians - few options and bland
Decent place to dine
by sonic117
Came here to celebrate my friend and I's birthday and decided for a more Latin theme restaurant. Service was pretty good and the food was not bad except it was pretty small portions. Place was a bit noisy but still able to carry a conversation. Would come back again.
- Pros: great service, can do large crowds
- Cons: Noisy at times, a bit pricey
DON'T BOTHER
by helyn32
I recently had lunch at Lucy's and was not impressed at all. The guacomole was mediocre at best and our entrees were not good. I had the pollo and found it to be relatively dry and boring. My colleague ordered fish which wasn't very inspiring. My other colleague had the lamb and although I didn't taste it, it looked very bland. I don't think this restaurant really knows what its doing - the menu is a montage of Mexican, Latin, and Indian (yes, INDIAN) food. Make up your minds!!!
Will never return.
for expense accounts only

because no intelligent person would spend their own money on such a lame experience. The entrees were passable but our $10 empanada "appetizer" was uncooked in the middle and looked suspiciously like a hot pocket.
I'll never go back this restaurant on my own dime or the company's because the experience was so unpleasant. Keeping a sense of humor helped but the word 'reluctant' comes to mind when I think back on the service.
Small touches associated with fine dining establishments, such as folding a napkin when a patron visits the rest room, only seemed comical against a backdrop of disorganized incompetence.
At one point a frightened-looking man in a black polyester shirt approached the table with a basket of bread but then quickly retreated when another server reminded him serving utensils come before carbohydrates. We sat staring for several at a small dish of butter he dropped off before someone else returned with tiny plates and butter knives and a third person brought a small assortment of bread
My conclusion is to avoid this establishment at all costs.
- Pros: nice ambiance
- Cons: terrible service, overpriced food
Good food, tasty bread, wicked drinks
by etherealprey
i usually go during restuarant week to lucy's. i love their bread, i hate that someone goes around and gives you just one piece and u don't get a basket, but it's good bread. the staff is very informative, and it feels too formal at times there, but the food is very good. the drinks are good but a bit pricey. it's dark, the music is loud but the food is great.
- Pros: great bread, great steak, great food
- Cons: pricey, crowded, loud
Horrible service overshadows overpriced but decent food and wine

The problem w/ Lucy is that while I will pay a ridiculous $14 for a single empanada if the rest of the experience is wonderful, I can't justify that if I've had to sit for 30 minutes w/o drinks, and then the waiter forgets my appetizer and then tells me I didn't order it.
my bottom line: the service basically ruined the meal. It was a Tuseday night, busy but not crazy, and from the moment we sat down it was obvious that our waiter was not going to do more than the bare minimum. Example: I ordered ceviche and the other four people ordered salads. After a year, the salads came, but no ceviche. As he never checked back w/ us, he didn't know mine hadn't arrived until everyone was done. I ordered a bottle of Cava, and it took seriously 20 minutes at least for him to bring it. I asked if they had Rutini Malbec and he said yes. But it's not Rutini....
The saving grace was the wine steward, who was fantastic and knew his wine and even pulled an unlisted wine out of the basement for us.
I just moved back from living in Spain, and before that lived in Argentina, so I have to say that while the food was good (not great) the prices are laughably high for the food you get. And it's Americanized too much, IMHO.
Anyway, sit at the bar and have a mojito or a glass of harder-to-find wine, maybe an appetizer (if they remember to serve you)
- Pros: strong wine list
- Cons: the worst waiter I've had in a year
Overrated food and Dawdling Service
by yvay
Celebrated a friend's b-day here on a Sat night. Our entree orders were taken 15 minutes after we had finished our appetizers and we had our menus sitting on our laps the whole time. The bill came almost half an hour after our first request for it. The manager did not apologize nor offered anything to compensate for our wait, even though we had a huge party and an astronomical bill to pay. A total of 4 hours were spent at this overrated restaurant due to all the wait time. Manager is inexperienced when it came to customer service.
- Pros: Mojitos, Ambience
- Cons: Service
