Great spot

I have been to the Laugh Lounge numerous times, and have never been disappointed. The drinks are strong and the comedians are hilarious.
- Pros: Everything.
- Cons: The bathroom could be cleaner.
Yikes!!!

This was my first comedy club i've ever been to and i loved it. i went on 08/02/08 to the better then chocolate show at 1230. When you first walk in they greet you and you walk into a nice lounge. We waited in the lounge untill we were called to go downstairs. Downstairs wasnt as nice as i thought it would be but still comfortable. The comedians were very funny. Im definitely going back.
- Pros: nice lounge, good comedians
- Cons: can't think of one
Great fun and tons of laughs!
by nsteele11
I've been to Laugh Lounge twice, once with my girlfriend and once with a large group for a birthday outing. Both times were a blast. The bar area is quiet but trendy and the bartender was great. The bar area gets a bit crowded right before showtime, so it's worthwhile to get there a bit early and enjoy the lounge area.
The shows are fantastic. Both times we were laughing from start-to-finish. And no need to worry about the traditional 'pick-on-the-audience' comedy. These guys have great material of their own. They do a great job of getting the audience involved without much grating.
At the end of the show, it's refreshing to have a bar area to congregate and have a drink while sorting out the gameplan for the remainder of the evening.
All-around a great time at Laugh Lounge and highly recommended for folks looking for something different than traditional nights on the town in NYC!
- Pros: Fun staff, happy crowd, great laughs
Super Fun Comedy Club
by Feachy26
This is my first time posting on CitySearch but after seeing a show at the Laugh Lounge I had to recommend it! If you're looking for a super fun time on the L.E.S. check out this comedy club. The comics are great, the drinks are flowing, and you will def. have a blast.
- Pros: Cool Lounge, Funny Comics
Service far below average.

Great selection of beers. Good bar food. Service sub par - even for an area that totally caters to the theatre crowd and tourist. I was there with a very attactive female friend and the service was almost non existent. I can understand them ignoring me (a middle aged male) but come on - a nice looking lady with any empty glass....hello!!!!
Tanya 28 Not True!!!
by 215comedyking
Tanya28 has a review, but it's not at all true...
I am the comedian in question in the previous article. My name is TuRae..The Laugh Lounge is a premier New York City comedy club. It has wonderful decor and a cozy theater area. It is located in the Village close to a thriving New York nightlife! The evening in question began as most comedy shows do, the host Wil Sylvince entertains the crowd, and escorts the acts to the stage. This particular night I did "watch" the table full of ladies at the table because they were loud and disruptive the ENTIRE night!!!! Every comic had to adress them numerous times! The host eventually gave up talking to them and just tried to bring the acts on stage. The comedian before me, Gerald Kelly ended up doing a 30 min set instead of his allotted 15 mins because he kept getting distracted by this table of women on their girls night out. i was the last comic to take the stage.. Anyone who has ever seen me knows this....I am a professinal comedian! i don't need the crowd to help me with my jokes, carry on a conversation, or try to do arithmetic at the front table trying to tally up their tab on my shift! I immediately tried to ignore this table and go on with my set, but then they started talking LOUDLY about the bill, I asked them to simmer down, and i'll be done in 5 minutes. They continued, and I teied to make a joke about them paying them tab, and it was,"..Just cause you broke..."..Something to that effect..So, you have been warned! I'm sorry i'm not the "Your mama so fat.." comedian; i fi want you to be quiet, imma say "shut the f&^k up" but only after NUMEROUS warnings and sidebars. Every patron in the building gave my declaration a round of applause. Every person leaving shook my hand and said, "Thanks for telling those chicks to shut up." So , You may have been embarrased, but don't become a liar also. You were disruptive and loud, and this is a comedy club, not a bar. Check me out on HBO's Def Comedy Jam...I'm so broke!!!!
Disrespectful comedian
by Tanya28
The atmosphere was amazing. The setup was priceless but the last comedian Turae Gordon was a total, disrespectful, a**hole. A couple of my coworkers and I headed out to the city for a girls night out. This was our first time visiting the Laugh Lounge; we were very impressed with all of the comedians. We had a good time and expected the night to end on a good note, but when the last comedian went on the stage he was shouting "Shut the F*ck Up. I watched this table all night (referring to our table) and I am not that dude. I can see your a** outside this show if ya'll don't shut the f*ck up." I mean we were having a good time laughing and enjoying the show until Mr. Gordon got on the stage. I was disgusted by the way he spoke to us and how he threatened to see us after the show. Although, I had a good time for the most part, I will never return to the Laugh Lounge again! I refuse to allow some low class, broke a** comedian disrespect me. I don't think you should ever have Turae back. He has no respect for women nor the establishment. . I will never recommend the Laugh Lounge to anyone, in fear that they might get disrespected as well. We were paying patrons who deserved to have a good time and not leave with a bad taste in or mouth, which ruined the rest of the evening.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly service, free chicken wings
- Cons: Lousy comedians, poor lightening, incorrect parking information on the website

Chris Tucker Performed & Hung Out!
by daisy441
Last night was crazy! My friends and I went out to celebrate my cousin's birthday and we just wanted a big fun group place. We heard good things about Laugh Lounge...it was supposed to be hip, nice people, really comfortable New York not touristy comedy so we decided to go. We were late and they were nice and still let us come for the next show even though we were a big group and they were very accommodating. Then we're sitting there in their beautful bar and in walks CHRIS TUCKER!!!!! He hung out at the bar. Took pictures with us and then performed during the show for 30 minutes! It was off the hook! He even said happy birthday to my cousin from the stage. It was great. We're definitely going back.
- Pros: Chris Tucker...fun neighborhood...felt like I was in the "real" New York
- Cons: None...great great time
