BAD SERVICE
by KLargman
Just bad service, and a crazy long wait for our table. I won't be going back.
- Pros: Food is goodish
- Cons: the snottiest staff ever
Great food if you can wait
by AGENTILE
Went there for Brunch this weekend, however, was all around top notch. We got there early (12:30ish) so the wait wasn't too long. The service was fantastic (and I don't say that lightly - I was a server for years and have high standards). I had the burger, which totally deserves its reputation, along with a mountain delicious rosemary fries. My friends had the french toast (which I didn't try) and the Cuban sandwich (which I did - awesome).

The decor here is great, and makes for a warm and cozy environment. The only drawback is how cramped it can get, especially when crowded, but after living in the East Village for four years, if there is one thing I am used to - it's small, crowded bars/restaurants.
- Pros: yummy food
- Cons: the wait for a table bites
there is more to cool than sporting a tattoo
by speakyourmind
nothing at all special here, dont believe the hype, food good, drinks and service rubbish, and dont bother with rusty knot
Nothing special...

Nice bar upstairs but that's pretty much it. Some preppy girls like to haul all the way from the UES to check this place and it's funny to watch. Some are pretty beautiful so it makes the bar pretty pleasant. I never had dinner here because I don't bend over to over rated places where you need to wait hours - or - submit yourself to a nose browning session to the staff to get upgraded on the list. Still, I recommend you try it because I've heard the food is good and I did try few appetizers once (they were amazing). Bar downstairs is packed with bobo (bourgeois boheme) and euro-trash people, avoid it.
- Pros: They have Sapporo and cute girls from the UES
- Cons: Everything else...
Food way too salty
by wasim
Went out to dinner here with a few friends and objectively, each item of food was seriously overly salted. From the squid stew to the shoe string fries, to the skirt steak and the burnt vegetables. It's was almost like they were trying to get people to order more drinks. I don't generally write reviews, but this was too much.
- Pros: Good Beer
- Cons: Salty food, slow wait staff, long wait.
horrible service at the bar
by timotheespitzer
got there at 530pm on wednesday sat at the bar (6ft long) and waited about 25mns before anyone asked me if i wanted a drink!
Then they asked me if i wanted a table for dinner...
needless to say that I chose another place for dinner,
The atmosphere seemed nice and staff too cool, but what happened to just good service?
Good food the rest doesn't measure up

The food is good. The drinks are expensive and there is always a wait. If you go grab a burger they are excellent.
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: Hot and Crowded
Very Salty...
by dorothybakker
We just dined at Spotted Pig this evening and started out with a very tasty dish of gnudi. The burger, short ribs and brussel sprouts to follow were so salty that we barely made a dent in these dishes- really disappointing. We had very high hopes for a delicious gastro-pub dinner and were left thirsty and speechless. Perhaps there was an accident with the salt in the kitchen...
- Pros: Warm decor and some tasty dishes.
- Cons: Salty food
Best Restaurant in NY

The wait for a table is crazy but the food is so good, it's worth it! I hope this place stays around forever.
fun and food is yummy

went here this past friday night and had a great time. wish i remembered my server's name because he was dynamite! we had a few drinks at the bar while waiting for our table and then sat upstairs, he place reminds me slightly of a place we have in philly called The Standard Tap, only even better. the octopus and celery salad was excellent, along with the oysters. my husband's burger was perfect. very low key and unpretentious with a hipster vibe (the host was an uber hipster) but i would definitely go back.
- Pros: service, food, ambience
- Cons: none really except for slightly annoying host
