Should have read the reviews here first!!
by Husband2b
My fiancee and maid-of-honor ordered bridesmaid's dresses that they thought perfect. Overall the initial experience was positive. Unfortunately, since then it has been downhill.
The shop has failed to return uncounted phone calls and emails from the bridal party who wanted to simply provide credit card numbers and measurements. When my fiancee finally got through to them by threatening to cancel her order they promised it would be placed the following day. It didn't happen, despite the fact that the store charged all of the bridesmaids.
Since then I was enlisted to follow up and cancel the order. I received nothing but the run around with answers such as "only the owner can cancel," followed by "she's in between stores," (the Manhattan and LI stores) followed by "we've already placed the order so it is too late to cancel." We are now in the position of having to fight them on the charges.
Save yourself the hassle...SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!
- Pros: Found the dresses
- Cons: Zero customer service
TERRIBLE!
by rtnyc
I actually used to work in a bridal salon, so I am appalled by how disorganized the staff is here. When my sister and I went to try the bridesmaids gown we thought the sales girl was very friendly and helpful. (we had made an appointment before hand) the selection was nice and it was good to have one on one attention, even though we didn't require it. The came the ordering process. The bridesmaids all left MULTIPLE messages, and emails trying to place the order but never got back to them. Why in the world would they return phone calls? We were trying to do business with them. After a MONTH of trying to chase them down and seeing all the nightmare reviews on here we have decided to take our business somewhere else. Do yourself a favor- find another bridal salon.

amazing custom dresses
by ebockler
Gina, the owner of adrienne's made me the most beautiful dress that looked completely couture without the couture price. Gina was so amazing! I don't know what these other reviewers were writing about! Adrienne's has dresses that are very nice, but if you are looking for something amazing, unique, and to fit to perfection, ask her to create something custom. I was part of the whole process and it was the least stressful part of my wedding. Everybody was asking me about my dress for weeks after my wedding. the place is small, but i liked that. No body was pretentious or snobby. Adrienne's is the best!
- Pros: beautiful work, original ideas, and wonderful attention
- Cons: none
How are they still in business?
by wavyinNY
Your best decision in your quest to buy a dress will be to not buy it from Adrienne's. This store deserves to go out of business, as its owner appreciates nothing about customer service and employs staff that represent that apathy accordingly. You would think that with all the terrible reviews and heat they get from irate customers would provoke them to realign their customer service model, but it's clear that they simply don't give a sht*t. The experience with them has been nothing but a nightmare, from the staff members' inability to communicate and return calls or e-mails, the constant attitude and "I don't know, I can't help you" replies to inquiries about the status of the dress arrival when they do actually pick up the phone, to the dresses finally arriving a mere week prior to the wedding when it was, in fact, due to arrive 2 months earlier. The mother of the bride had to go into the store a couple of weeks ago to receive some type of update as our calls elicited no response, and though she was diplomatic in speaking to a staff member, she received a call a couple of days later from the owner Maryann yelling at her for "causing a scene." She is clearly not an advocate for her customers and did not apologize once for the delay in the delivery, and also would not negotiate shipping charges ($125 for overnight, $30 for ground shipping- which is a grossly inflated rate since my friend was able to pick up the dresses and ship them out for $11 each express) for the many maids that lived out of state.
I wish I would have read reviews earlier because I am seeing the same sentiments echoed throughout for this store- I would never have allowed my friend to have the dresses ordered from this store and I'm fumed that we gave them our business. We paid a lot of money for these dresses and we should not have been treated like inconsequential garbage throughout the entire process. The stress you experience every time you deal with them is completely not worth it.

I'm about to walk down the aisle in bra&underwear
by AmityMarmuscak
I ordered my dress in April & it is still not ready for my Sept, wedding happening this week. They have repeatedly lied to me telling me the dress had arrived from the manufacturer and to come drive all the way in from where I live in the Hamptons and then again telling me it was ready to bring home. I have wasted so much time and gas money driving into Manhattan to get a dress that is not ready. And then they promised to drop it off at the best man's apt in NYC and did not. So basically I paid good $ for a dress that I now can not wear down the aisle and have nothing to wear. Please I beg you do not go there.
- Pros: There are none
- Cons: They can not deliver
Started out as a disaster, ended ok

Like many of the other reviewers, I had a pretty awful experience with Adrienne's Bridal (Orchard Street, NYC location). I ordered my 5 bridesmaid dresses in February for my October wedding. I have email confirmation that the order was placed on February 10th. I called the store in late June to check-in because it had been almost 5 months. At that time, they told me the order was never placed and was left open because they thought they were waiting for a 6th bridesmaid (there was NEVER even talk of a 6th bridesmaid!!). How on earth they let my file sit in a pile unattended for 4.5 months is beyond me. Moreover, they had over $400 of deposit money! It never crossed their mind to call me and check!?!?/ When I told them they needed to urgently fix the problem, they continually blamed it on an employee they since fired (Anthony), but never once did the words "I'm sorry" or "I apologize" come out of anyone's mouth. The owner, Marianne, was awful and made it sound like she was doing me a favor on the phone. She was incredibly rude. I was told the dresses would arrive late August...but every time I (or my maid of honor) called to check, we got the run-around...until yesterday. I spoke to Carmen who was very nice, professional and helpful. She gave me the purchase order number and also said she would call Dessy to find out the status. She called me right back, told me the dresses had shipped and even gave me the tracking number.
The dresses arrived today and Belinda was very helpful in finalizing my payments. These two employees were very nice and professional to work with. However Marianne needs to take a class on management and customer service. This is no way to run a business. They are clearly disorganized and way too many poor brides are put through awful situations during an already stressful period.
While my story ended happy....I feel for those who are struggling. All I can say is don't take chances...GO ELSEWHERE! Had I seen these reviews before purchasing my dresses, i NEVER would have ordered them from Adrienne's. The store should be closed down.
- Pros: Good price
- Cons: awful management, poor customer service
AWFUL!!! DO NOT USE Adrienne's in NY or in LI
by jmcs
Brides to be that are looking for bridesmaid dresses - let me spare you the absolute nightmare of having to deal with Adriennes at BOTH locations - in NYC and out in Long Island.
To make a very long story short - every time one of my bridesmaids called they ALWAYS had the wrong information. They called me twice to tell me that the dresses did not come in Latte only Champaign. Once I called back the second time they would apologize - "Oh, right yes it does come in Latte." After confirming MANY MANY MANY times they got it wrong again a THIRD time leaving me a message that I need to choose a different color and fast because it didn't come in Latte. I called the owner and again was told that they were wrong - yes it comes in Latte! How does this place run a business when they can't get the color right after three times, they can't get the number of girls correct and to add to that I was told that the dresses would be in by a certain date. Three weeks after the fact they are not in and I was told that someone must have told me the wrong date and they were still unable to tell me when my dresses would be in for pickup. Also, when one of my bridesmaids and I went to the NY location - they were late opening - an hour and a half late- and again didn't have my information correct.
This has been nothing but a headache for me and I still don't have my bridesmaid dresses.
I picked out the dress and placed the order WAY in advance and still I am waiting. Thankfully I have 7 more weeks left but I am nervous. Fingers crossed it all works out. But take my advice - walk the other way - they are terrible!!!!!!! This has been such an awful experience for me that this is the first time I am writing a review because that is how upsetting this has been. Good luck!

What a NIGHTMARE!!!!!
by m0rningrain
Ladies, do NOT go there even if this was your last resource! My friends and I had a terrible experience with them. When we went there for dress fitting, they were rude and unhelpful. The bride had to clip our dresses. The whole store was a mess! We placed the order 5 months before the wedding, and guess what, the wedding is next week and they still don't have the dresses! We've been calling them for weeks, no one is willing to help. Their response is "there's nothing we can do!". Really, then why do you keep the shop open?! One employee told me that she's only been working there for a month and is already pulling her hair out. Everyone calls them and complains about the same thing! I don't understand how a store like that can still be in business? Only if we did some research before going in!!!

Same owners-Second Location Islip
by 3ndone
I ordered my brides maid dress in January. Paid in full. In May it and none of the other ladies dresses came in as promised..June, same thing, July 1st week nope, 2nd week nope, 3rd week finally arrived. Came in on a Thursday I couldnt go. They dont do fittings on weekends and had nothing on Friday, closed Monday, went Tuesday. WRONG DRESS ENTIRELY. Not even remotely similar. Mine was the only one. The incompetant owner offered no apologies even tried to blame me for waiting to come in so close to the wedding date -even though it only just came in (the wedding was 12 days away). She tells me they'll just cover it in chiffon- right, lets put chiffon over a satin dress that looks nothing like the one im supposed to wear to my sisters wedding. We'll make it from scratch she tells me. Gives me an appt for the following Tuesday. I show up and the dress which was made from the measurements they took is HUGE. Come back tomorrow, we'll alter it they tell me--again no apologies nothing. Wedding is now in 3 days. Go back on Weds- put on dress- the hem is 4" longer on one side than the other, the spaghetti strap is ripped and they never took in the bust line which is about 2 inches too big on each side. Wait they tell me- walk around Islip for 2 hrs (I dont live nearby) come back and it will be ready. Go back 2 hrs later. They try to get me to take it without trying it on. I insist otherwise-put it on and THEY NEVER TOOK IN THE SIDE-I feel like I am being filmed on Candid Camera. NO such luck. New seamstress comes in -says she'll fix it- 5 minutes later she takes it in. Than to top it off the other owner actually tries to get me to pay for the alterations that have been done on the dress they made incorrectly because they ordered the wrong dress to begin with. I brought the dress home and my 5 yr old daughter couldve done a better job making the dress- it is ill fitting, poorly made, with seams all over and uneven hemline...I only hope the lighting is dark and no one notices!
My other sister who could look good in a paper bag had problems with fit because they ordered her dress too small. My grandmother went back 3 times to have the hemline corrected. They tried to overcharge another bridesmaid for alteration after they said there was a $75 cap on alterations. NIGHTMARE- HORROR
I am a simple easy going undemanding woman. I cannot even imagine what someone else may have done in this case. They are HORRIBLE, LIARS, INCOMPETANT, OBNOXIOUS OWNER. They have no clue how to run a bridal salon. They only thing they are good for is taking your money and not delivering. DO NOT SHOP< BUY anything from this place. And if you do, you have my heartfelt sympathy- but you've been warned.
- Pros: I am giving 1star because this website wont allow no star
- Cons: Worst Bridal Store in the history of the world
WARNING-ADRIENNE’S WILL RUIN YOUR WEDDING!
by LSNYC
This is the most unorganized, unethical bridal shop! I am so surprised they are still allowed to stay in business. I was in my friend’s bridal party this past weekend. We had ordered dresses on January 24th for the wedding on July 24th and didn’t get the dresses until a week before the wedding on the 17th! They told us the dresses would be in end of May so we waited until then to call and follow up. The woman on the phone assured us they would be in shortly, and was blaming the dress company, not Adrienne’s for the delay. Week after week we called and got the same excuse-it was the dress company holding us up. Two weeks before the wedding, when my friend was in tears we called again and they said they were being shipped from an undisclosed warehouse (they couldn’t tell us where but said it was in the US) and would be in soon. Didn’t happen. A week before the wedding my friend ordered back up dresses from Nordstrom and called the owner of Adrienne’s again telling her what she had done. It was then that the owner said they were putting the “finishing touches” on the dresses and was going to pick them up in person. Totally caught her in a lie because she said they were being shipped-yet she was able to go pick them up? With the help of another bridal shop my friend was able to speak with the dress company in person and they said the hold up for the dresses was because Adrienne’s had not paid them! Adrienne’s has zero credit! It was only when the owner went to the dress company and paid them that they released the dresses! To top it off- the tags said “Made in New York City”! Adrienne’s staff is a bunch of liars trained to buy time while the owner tries to get some cash to pay her vendors! To top it off when the dresses came in they were all HUGE-like 2 sizes big for each girl. We were all swimming in them and had to get rush alterations elsewhere that ended up costing a fortune due to the time constraints! Please don’t go here-you will only end up in tears.
