Best Ribs Around

Surprisingly Great Ribs, Shrimp is just average for a restaurant called a "Shrimp Company" Fried chicken is awesome, Fish is average, Ribs are the best item on the menu

Souther Fried Chicken rocks!

I've been there 5 or 6 times with friends/family. And every time we go there's a wait line downstairs. At some point we get stuck having to wait on the stairs... The Souther Fried Chicken is one of the best I've had in NY. The so called "cocktails" are mostly cheap juice with lots of ice or colored water with lots of sugar. One good thing (if you manage to get a table by the window) is the view of Times Square. It's usually noisy and it seems like the staff sings happy b-day to someone every 7-8 minutes. However, I like their ordering system with the two signs you can flip saying "run" and "stop."

• Pros: big portions, somewhat fast service, nice view
• Cons: noisy, bad cocktails, wait line

Great and exciting environment. Hate the shells on much of the menu. Settled for a burger (not bad) fries too salty! Overall enjoy life!

Comfortable and good food. I go in alone and dont' feel awkward, The food and service are always are always consistent which is why I go back when I want good almost home cooked meals.

Love Forrest Love

I love the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. I have eaten at their Times Square Location, Oralndo, FL location and their Hawaii location. I've loved every one. In the NY one we sat immediately and the waitress was attentive and interactive.l I had the bucket of boat trash. Loved it! I'm sure it's frozen seafood but it was very filling and very entertaining.

• Pros: Decor is great for movie lovers/Food was good/Service was excellent
• Cons: Kinda pricey

There's Better....

The theme is cute if you like Forest Gump and the service is pretty friendly, but for the price ($15-20 per dish) you can get much better food. The food isn't awful, but there are much better seafood restaurants in the city.

tasty times square trap!

i've dined at bg's on several times and enjoyed it very much. i loved the movie, so naturally i would enjoy the theme as well. it can be a bit pricey, but the food is really good. i did notice how the calamari and shrimper's heaven (i think i got the name right) portions have dwindled in size. they try to make it seem larger by placing it on a bed of lettuce/cabbage, but it's still quite tasty. if you're really starving, you will leave there satisifed, but i suggest you munch on a piece of fruit or something because the wait to be seated is ridiculous! make sure you carry a sweater/jacket (mom was right!) because it tends to get really chilly inside and the temperature cannot be controlled. the staff is nice and attentive. the view of times square (hopefully they will seat you near the window) at night never ceases to amaze me. all in all, a pretty good experience.

• Pros: attentive staff, good food, love the sign on the table and the fact that you don't have to flag someone down for extra napkins which translate into 1 more than the one you had!
• Cons: long wait for seating which makes it even worse in the winter because the door is constantly opening and closing!

Great lunch overlooking Times Square

Great place to get a good ole fried shrimp platter with fries and similar fare. The views are spectacular through the large windows overlooking Times Square. Reasonable prices. Very nice, attentive staff who make it a fun experience. I will go back whenever in New York City.

Bubba Gump, not such a healthy experience.

I didn't eat at this one but I ate at Bubba Gumps recently in Minneapolis.

Me and my two colleagues got sick and two of us ended up in the hospital.

We are pretty sure it was the calamari.

• Cons: Seafood was not fresh

Great food! You leave starving, there is something wrong. Don't expect a enthusiastic wait staff member!

I frequent NYC quite a bit since the Company I work for specializes in New York City packages. I am always looking for new places to dine at so I can give my experiences to present and future clients. My future mother in law recommended Bubba Gump's to me. She said I must eat there if I ever get the chance. She said her waiter was funny, and loved the whole dining experience.

So a month later I was in NYC and I took her suggestion and ate their for lunch. My best friend from grade school was with me so we were game for anything. Everything was great except for our waitress. She was non-emotional, straight faced, soft spoken, and NO eye contact whatsoever. Because of this, I have to say it ruined my experience. Will I eat there again? Yes. I was saddened by looking around where our table was and other people had funny waiters or waitresses. Not saying I need that kind of attention, it just makes your dining experience a little more pleasurable. It was a min-vacation so we wanted to have a good time.

• Pros: Excellent shrimp! Great drinks! Full bellies!!
• Cons: boring waitress
