What a bar should be
by meeater
The Bar: Everyone talks about the beautiful mahogany bar, so I'll let you read up on that elsewhere.
The Booze: The drink selection is hard to beat. Whether I'm in the mood for a complicated cocktail, an aged rum, or a good Guinness, Grace has it. The bartender that serves me said drink (Fred, Danielle, Jay or Chuck) is knowledgeable, experienced, and pleasant. I really do feel like I'm getting a great drink from a person that really cares.
The Food: I eat at Grace at least once a week and can proudly say that I've tried everything on the menu. Start on the small plate side; go for the chicken potstickers, the hummus/falafel plate, or the pork carnitas. If you've had a rough day and you need something you can sink your teeth into; I say go for the Chicken Sandwich although my husband will tell you to go for the steak sandwich. Whatever you choose, you really can't go wrong. It's upscale comfort food at affordable prices.
- Pros: buybacks!
- Cons: on Friday's and Saturdays it can get a little too crowded. (music gets loud)
Beautiful Bar

One of my favorite views in Tribecca is the bar at Grace. Long and beautiful. Plenty of room to eat, meet and quench your thirst. The menu is well priced as I have returned more than once for the Warm Pita with a Trio of Dips, Tapenade, Tzatziki and Herb marinated Feta and their Lump Crab Cakes with Avocado Salsa and Chipotle Mayo. A feeling of being in a different part of the world, other than NY, however, one look around at the artsy, fashionable and fun-filled crowd, you realize gladly, you are home in 10013.
Great Spot for an Itimate Party, or Gathering!!!
by dawnrshort
The Grace Restaurant was the perfect setting for our company holiday party. The owner, Fred McKibbin made sure that the party was a great success. The Grace Bar and Restaurant staff were very pleasant, helpful, quick on their feet and gave our company the best service ever. I was able to choose from a great selection of food choices from the holiday menu, and the bar menu was excellent as well. If you are looking for great food, drink, and an intimate place to hold your next affair, this is the place to go. The decor and atmosphere is very enjoyable and inviting. The prices of the food and beverages are reasonable and the location was an commute for the employees. Best Holiday Wishes and Kudos to the Grace Restaurant for making our company party a success.
- Pros: Service, Drink Menu, Food Menu, Ambience
My friends laughed at my choice of this place!
by clientview555
After looking at ratings, I thought that this would be a safe bet for a group of conservative 30-somethings to come celebrate a birthday with food and drinks.
We actually had a good start to the evening, for about 2 hours. It was then alomost midnight and they closed the bar; it was a Saturday night! It wasn't a holiday, or anything special. The place still held about 80 people.
What really bothered me was they they didn't even say - "Last Call". Everyone was really upset. I was too and felt especially annoyed since I was the one who told my friends to come there.
The owner, Fred, said that they were just closing early. Thanks Fred!
Perhaps he just had other things to do and needed to get out of there. Maybe he wasn't the owner.
I'd recommend that us NYkers avoid this place.
- Cons: Poor service
Affordable Tribeca Gem
by katpat
Grace is an unassuming spot on a shadowy stretch of Franklin St. But everything about the joint is great: the endless, burnished wooden bar that welcomes you upfront, the laid-back vibe and casual friendly service, and the top-notch small plate menu. Empanadas, spring rolls, pot stickers, crab cakes, tacos, tuna tartare, etc., all well-prepared, satisfying fare that makes you think, "who needs a main course, anyway?" Reasonably priced wine list with smart choices, too.
- Pros: reasonably priced, welcoming, yummy small plates
Best bar in the city for COOL people!!
by hefewithoranges
The food at Grace is unbelievable, from the bruschetta to the spring rolls to the skirt steak. And those are just the appetizers...The bar staff is barnone the best in the city--they remember you, they treat you right.
- Pros: Best Bartender, Great Eats, Great Beers
- Cons: Slightly pricey

Skylights illuminate Tribeca diners sampling small-plate fare ranging from shrimp gyoza to chicken and mango empanadas; also burgers, salads, sandwiches.
Great For a Hot Date

Slip into the back room and the crowd at the bar disappears. The food is GREAT the banquets are large. Choose a bottle from the cheap wine list and kick back.
- Pros: Relaxed, Chill
