My husband and I spent a romantic weekend at the Mandarin! One side of room had enormous windows that had a breathtaking view of Central Park. It was amazing!!! The service was great, and hotel guests are able to priority book tables at their bar/lounge which also has amazing views. Close by in the Time Warner Center, we ate at Masa and Cafe Grey-both incredible restaurants (of course you have easy access to all of NYC too!) I booked a couple spa appointments. I had a thai massage that was fantastic although 3 times as expensive as anything else I have ever paid for. This is the only downside of the Mandarin-even for NYC-this place is insanely $$$. If you have the money though, it is worth it!!

Pros: Design, Views, Location, Service, Spa

Cons: The price

I booked a room at the Mandarin for one night. I arrived at the hotel at check-in time and was informed that my room was not ready yet. I didn't mind, so I just hung out for a while. When I checked back at the front desk, they told me I'd have to wait a little longer. A few minutes later, they handed us our keys and when I got to the room I realized we were treated to an upgrade (I'm assuming b/c of the wait). The service here is so pleasant and the room itself was beautiful. I don't think you could have a bad stay at this hotel... it's one of NYC's finest!!!

Pros: Great Service, Attentive Staff, Views of the City and River

Cons: Expensive

I recently booked a reservation for 3 nights at the Mandarin Oriental. Yep, the cost was high but I'm confident it will be worth the price. See you in November.

Pros: The location

Cons: None

My wife and I celebrated our fifth anniversary by spending a weekend at the Mandarin, and while the final bill cost more than a month's rent, I have have nothing but nice things to say about the service (they left a fifth anniversary cake when we checked in), the view, and the location. It was wonderful waking up, walking the dog to Strawberry Fields, then coming back and getting a pot of tea sent up before a sauna. We left well rested and content, and if you want to to splurge on a special weekend, this is place to do it.

Pros: Stellar view, Great service, Very luxurious

Cons: Expensive

Just came back from 4 nights at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel - I did not want to leave to go home!!!! Beautiful Room - impeccable service - the staff could not do enough for us - the Lobby Lounge is gorgeous!!! I cannot wait to stay at this hotel again.

This place is quite stunning. The lobby, the service, and the room are all unbelievable. We were in a standard room but when showing up at 3pm and our room not being ready, they upgraded us to a room with a full bathroom, waterfall shower, and hot tub....talk about service. The rooms are emaculate and romantic with flat screen TV's, full hook ups, and a fantasticly soft bed. The views, b/c the hotel starts up so high in the building are great and of the west side of Manhattan. The only downside I could say is that the sheets were a little too starched, but this is hardly a negative with all the positives that this place provides. I hope to be back.

I have stayed in all of the major hotels in Manhattan and this one is my overall favorite. I had a Premier Corner View Hudson this time which I prefer over park view rooms. The views, furniture, amenities and food were great. The front desk staff were snobby and sort of incompetent but the concierge staff was very friendly and helpful and have a lot of juice at the best clubs and restaurants. The dorman are friendly but not very professonal The spa and pool are magnificent but the gym is just ok. The location is excellent. Love having Whole Foods mkt. and Equinox gym so close. Masa and per se were the very best too. MoBar is very overrated, and crowded with annoying out of town yuppies.

Pros: Restaurants, rooms, concierge staff

Cons: front desk staff, MoBar, gym

I was only here for their Lobby Lounge, up on 35th or so flr. The lounge is VERY nice! Its a great place to go if you want to impress the one you're with. The martinis and dishes are pricey, but the view of the city make it totally worth it! I would suggest reservations for a place by the window, the lounge was packed on a Thursday!

Pros: Martinis, Food, View

Cons: Expensive

Very good hotel, not quite up to the level of NYC's best (Four Seasons), or its sister hotel in Miami. My wife and I loved our room, which had a heavenly view of CP, a supremely comfortable bed, and superb decor/amenties. Service was extremely professional/courteous. We were less impressed by the food. Room service was inconsistent, as was our experience at Asiate. Also disappointing us were the NOISY room doors (slamming woke us up every morning) and the messy construction around Columbus Circle. The hi-def TVs are extremely cool, but also buggy (ours wouldn't turn off once, requiring an in-room visit at 4am). Also couldn't get hi-speed internet to work, despite a 30min visit from the IT staff (wireless worked, however). Overall, the MO has great potential, especially after work on the new TW building and Columbus Circle are completed. In the meantime, better values can be found elsewhere.

Pros: Great CP views, Superior service, Fantastic rooms

Cons: Buggy hi-def TVs, Noisy room doors, Columbus Cir. a mess
