Incomplete order/bad service
by Emmagirl at Citysearch
I ordered from Luis tonight and was disappointed with the service. I ordered the Flounder platter and asked for both the tartar sauce and the BBQ sauce. The order came without the BBQ sauce which was a shame because the tartar sauce was not good. I called to ask them to send the BBQ sauce. I had to call twice. It arrived 30 minutes after I called the first time for it when the fish was stone cold.
The guy I talked couldn't care less, so I couldn't care less to order from them again.
- Pros: Good BBQ sauce
- Cons: Poor Service
Best BBQ in NYC
by lizzyred at Citysearch
Definitely the best bbq Manhattan has to offer!!! From the delicious soups, to the fried catfish and okra (so delicious), to the ribs that melt off the bone - this place is definitely one to try, and then return to! Seeing as it only has room to seat 10 people, make sure to make reservations, or order for take-out. Can't wait to return!
- Pros: food, staff, price
- Cons: make sure to make a reservation if eating in!

Perfect hidden spot for great bbq
by gmpepin at Citysearch
I never knew a bbq restaurant could be romantic, but this place pulls it off perfectly. I first came across this place with friends before going to the Film Forum two years ago and have been returning ever since. It's a quiet, hidden spot where Houston meets 6th Ave. Davis (the owner) is not only a wonderful cook, but a delightful, friendly presence who can't help asking "How is everything?" and you can't help saying "Just great!" The meat melts off the bone, the creamed spinach is tasty as can be and all else will keep you coming back for more.
- Pros: Food, service and ambience

I Love This Place

The Rotisserie Chicken is Divine; and the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad is the Best that I?ve had. Pulled Chicken Sandwiches make the perfect power lunch. If can?t tell already I especially love chicken, and I?m always looking for new ways and tastes, of places that are serving up a chicken creation on their menu. Dallas Jones Bar-B-Q is one of the few and best that I?ve found, I love their food, and so do my BBQ Lover friends. It?s been our sweet secret, but not anymore, we?re spreading the word! I wish for them to have such a business that they will stay open for 24 hours a day delivering fresh BBQ whenever it?s desired. I?ve had late night cravings, and it can happen to anyone. So enjoy the Authentic Down-home BBQ Cooking, and help spread the word.
- Pros: BBQ...BBQ...BBQ

Best soul food in the city !
by zeem at Citysearch
You will never suspect such yummy food, such good quality of service and a magical atmosphere in this tiny little place with the best bbq food in the city ! I was passing by every day and never thought of eating or ordering there, until one day where I had a big urge of eating bbq food. The food was incredible and the owners were so sweet. From then, I'm eating, ordering from e-hungry or by phone at least 3/4 times a week, either for some of their incredible bbq ribs, their delicious sides or even for their generous and so healthy bbq. Right now, I will die for their corn bread, mmmmm...

WOW. Tastiest ribs I have EVER had.

This place is amazing. Everything is homemade and the service was really great. I got the baby back ribs...they were fall off the bone juicy and tender and seasoned so perfectly. My mouth is watering again just thinking about them. My friends and I all got something different so we got to try a lot of the sides and different meats and everything was top notch. I can't wait to go back for those ribs! The place is small but they were really accomodating fitting 5 of us in there with all of our sports gear (we had just worked out before we came). OH man, those ribs......
- Pros: RIBS!!!! Everything fresh and homemade, RIBS!!! Really cute, intimate place
- Cons: The corn on the cob was a bit over cooked.
Amazing catfish, pulled chicken, steamed okra, corn muffins, owners...

I threw a surprise party here last month for my wife, and it was super. The owners couldn't have been easier to work with. We fit 20 people into cozy environs, and everyone had a great time. The food, as we knew from going there earlier, was superb. I normally don't eat fried fish without sauce, but the catfish entree doesn't need any. The pulled chicken had large chunks and the right amount of sauce. The recommended steamed okra was a new dish for me the first time I went there, and I've had it every time I've returned. Fabulous. The owners even printed up a special menu for the party. They also play a nice mix of music there.
- Pros: Ambience, Flavor, Seasoning
- Cons: None
