I went to Stone Rose with a friend on a Thursday night. The ambience is good if all you are looking for is a noisy place with lots of men in suits and peroxide blonde waitresses with silicone in short dresses. It's definitely not a place to take a date as it is too noisy. It's good for after work drinks with work colleagues. The music is lousy and inconsistent swaying from contemporary rock to hip hop. The snacks are overpriced but below average. Surprisingly, the service was pretty good. It's probably not a great place to meet people if you are a woman because most of the men clad in suits who were ogling at the waitresses were wearing wedding bands. If you are a man, the chances of meeting women are probably pretty high as there was a good single women's scene. Overall, I wasn't impressed but I wouldn't say "stay away."

Pros: Service, Waitresses

Cons: Food, Music, Pretentious crowd

I went to Stone Rose a few weeks ago with a handful of friends to celebrate my birthday. I called ahead of time to make a reservation. The girl on the phone seemed a bit spacey, she first said they were booked but then told me we could have a table if we left by a certain time, which was fine because we were planning on going to a club afterwards. Upon arrival, we checked our coats (free coat check) and were taken to the couch area next to the large windows that was reserved for us. The bar area was very crowded, many beautiful woman, but can't say the same for the guys. My friends and I ordered appitizers, chicken fingers were really great, a bottle of wine and cocktails. The waitress was attentive, refilled wine glasses, although she wasn't that good a pouring it. We sat on the couches, enjoyed the view and talked to ourselves as we were separated from the rest of the walk-in crowd. There was a wait for the bathroom as there are only two stalls. Drinks were the usual pricey ones you get at most upscale lounges. Good place to go with friends if you like lounges, not so sure if it's a good place to meet people, but like I said, bar area was crowded but didn't see any cute guys.

Pros: Reserved areas to talk to friends

Cons: Seperated crowd areas

I'm not sure why the reviewers of this place, the Stone ROse are so bent on calling each other names and giving the other a hard time about their opinions. Opinions are what makes us different. Im going there tonight so will write my review after, right now I guess it a rating of average since I have'nt experienced it yet. But wow, reviewers can be pretty mean! New YOrk city , dont you just adore its people!

Pros: The View & service was hands down the best!

Cons: The closing time, we didn't want to leave!!!!!!

Brilliant Central Park Night View. Delicious cocktails. Relatively decent foods. If you subtract them from this bar, this bar makes you feel like coming back to that noisy & friendly college bar. Their clients - You can see them in those positive reviews below. Let's just say that there is a reason why the bar's service concentrates on just two points - bosoms and buds of pretty waitresses (& muscles of black suite managers, if you add one more). Great places for big kids who love to find trendy selves. Adult drinkers, I recommend to move on to Masa Bar on the same floor.

Pros: View, Cocktails, Foods

Cons: Music (tasteless), Services (very look-oriented), Clients @ Bar (can learn manners).

I personally had a great time from the moment i walked in the door to the moment i left. so i came to write a review and saw all of these negitive things people had to say.... i am quite shocked!! Any time i have been to Stone Rose i have a blast the door staff is great and very helpful and the manager is so nice even called a night club to get us in with no worries!! It seems to me that some of these reviews are written by washed up jaded losers that go out looking for a bad time. It so reflects the energy they put in on city search after going home ALONE! With nothing better to do than eat themselves into a coma via Haggen Daas.. And to the one lady who said the staff is Dusty....and people waiting to go to jersy to put the kids on the bus... I ask so how long did it take you to get so bitter? every day with age i am sure since you are so hung up on image and what people look like. Get over yourself. You are probably just as ugly on the outside as you are on the inside.People like you are why people think "new yorkers" are rude ... So WHAT PART OF JERSEY ARE YOU FROM AGAIN?? I suggest if you want to have a good time treat people the way you want to be treated yourself.. Life goes on ,,, if the worst thing that has happened to you is slow service or someone didn't want to talk to you.....Then END your LIFE now...cuz life gets worse...

Pros: Happy Staffers.Great choice of Drinks,Good Music

Cons: Jaded Overstimulated Clientele

I had a wonderful time at stone rose last thursday. There was a d.j. playing the vibe was totally upbeat we had a ton of specialty drinks that were great and had service was very friendly and fast at the bar. The crowd does tend to be a little bit older although my friend and i did meet a couple of cute guys. All together i have to say it was a fun night!

What a snobby establishment! The bartender girl acted as if she owned the place. She was rude and slow. Therefore, it reflected on her tip. She was lucky she even got a tip! She proceeded to tell the two other guy patrons at the bar. The two guys started to yell at my boyfriend. How unprofessional. She could have asked my bf, she could have told her manager, but to tell strangers......that's tacky.

Pros: if you need a table-there's plenty

Cons: terrible service

Careful in case you make a reservation here. They took my reservation, phone number, and credit card for 22 people to be seated at 6pm in tables by the window and then booked the entire room for a private party without ever calling to tell me. Most of my guests were from out of town and I was looking forward to showing them the view of Central Park. Instead we had to find a windowless bar downstairs. We were outraged to say the least but they didn't do anything except say "we can take you at 9:30." Place might be nice but no excuse for screwing a customer when a better deal comes along.

This place is like a lounge in an airport or what corny non-New Yorkers would consider the "hottest place" in their dusty small town. Overpriced. The waitresses are rude. The bartenders are rude. Absolutely no scene. The crowd you find there all look like they are going to flag down a taxi to board the last nj transit train because the kids have school the next morning. It was not worth the money, and not worth the wait for a table. I tried to complain about the rudeness, but when this twiggy, crusty bottle blonde with an enhanced bossom walked over and called herself the manager, I fled. Bad, bad, bad. Management is trash and bartenders are trash.

Pros: you can catch a cab right outside of the mall

Cons: you feel like you are being transported to some dusty small town
