One of the best
by DGBK
Just a great hidden away place. Have been there twice and it is the best value for your dollar authentic Italian food that I have found in the city. Just remember its cash only and be prepared
- Pros: nice atmosphere, good food
- Cons: none that I can think of
Memorable Meals
by DLover
Been there quite a few times for dinner with my baby koala and its romantic, but busy with delicious, cheap food. Note that they only take cash but its worth every penny - No reservations accepted but Ive never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table - Try the tuna salad and/or the salmon - lasagna is tasty too - I just made myself hungry...
- Pros: Delicious food, cheap, Nice Atmosphere, Steve Winwood
- Cons: Cash Only so I cant use my business credit card and make the meal a taxable deduction...
Authentic Italian
by Burlington Tom
I brought my wife here before a show at the 45 Bleecker St. Theatre, after a little research online, and it turned out to be the best Italian food we've probably ever had (at least, certainly the best we've had in NYC). The atmosphere feels like an family cottage, cozy, walls lined with old-fashioned decor. The servers were very attentive and our food was delivered to our table promptly. We began our meal with an appetizer of mussels, which came in generous portion, plump and creamy in a white wine and butter sauce. For our meals, my wife ordered the spaghetti and I, the gnocchi. Her dish was wonderfully simple; the homemade pasta was al dente (as it should be) coated with a tomato sauce, fresh basil, and rich olive oil. My gnocchi was nice and fluffy, topped with a gorgonzola alfredo sauce. I highly recommend both dishes. The meal left us extremely satisfied. What a bargain!
- Pros: Ambience, Service, FOOD, Value
- Cons: Absolutely none!
Best Italian in the city
by deltahedge
Typical Emilia-Romagnan cuisine, from the flash-fried parsley, to the wonderful fish and excellent salads, to the very nice desserts (like tarfufo). Best olive oil in town, very good (and simple) pasta dishes, the best spiedino di mare in NYC...you get the idea. A wonderful place overall.
Amazing Gnocchi
by dreamingirl
I am a gnocchi snob and have searched up and down for the best gnocchi. Bianca's melt in your mouth, and the sauce is creamy and delicious. Plus, the price is downright affordable. I feel so lucky that Bianca's exists and it is my favourite restaurant in Manhattan.
lovely italian gem

I just found this place over the weekend and can't wait to get back. The food was simple, basic, homestyle italian food. Delicious and very well priced. The host George was a riot too. Really a great restaurant.
- Pros: Food, service, host
- Cons: A little on the small side
It's Like Eating At Italian Grandma's House - Authentic all the way
by giagrl
BIANCA is a little tucked away secret. They don't take reservations so you better get there no later than 7:30 whihc is exactly what we did. It was THE BEST italian I have had out in a long while at this price. My husband and and I FEASTED for less than $70.00. You know the place is great when you talk about it a year later and still go back. Our meal would have been even cheaper if we knew that the portions were big enough to share. The place looks like an old Italian grandmas livingroom converted into a tiny restaurant with candle light, exposed brick. It's a bit cramped but adorable and the food is AMAZING for the money. It's a great place to TEST a date. If she loves it you know she's a keeper -- a person with depth and soul who can appreciate authenticity over a scene. The service is just as good as I have had at placed 3 times the price. Excellent VAlentine's Day choice - just get there very early. Line is out the door.
- Pros: AMAMZING FOOD at a very reasonable price
- Cons: it's a small place could feel a little cramped
Authentic Italian, Good Food, Low Prices, Very cozy
by niko1
I was so impressed with this authentic Italian restaurant. The portions are huge, the service fast and friendly, and the prices are unheard of. In an area of pretentious and often underwhelming restaurant choices, Bianca was a refreshing change of pace. Extremely cozy, if not a little claustrophbic!
- Pros: Great Food, Low price
- Cons: Tables are very close together, very loud.

Perfect Winter Spot
by phonohohno
I used to work in the area and would come by a few times a week for the fantastic tagliatelle bolognese. The staff is wonderful and makes the place feel like home. Nice wine list, with a few reasonably priced bottles.
- Pros: great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing food
- Cons: not by my new office
