This business is like a lot of businesses in Manhattan, they pack in way too many people and they skimp on as much as they think they can while still charging you $105 per month. When I signed up, I was told that my first month would be free and this was reflected in my contract. Despite this, they billed me for the first month. I made three phone calls to several people who were helpful on the phone, but did nothing to solve my problem. One of them even stated that they could see where it said on my contract that I wouldn't be billed for the first month, and that they would be happy to give me this free month at the end of my contract since they mistakenly billed me. Uhhh, ok.... I finally sent a copy of the contract to my bank and asked them to reverse the charge from my credit card, which they did. The facilities and equipment are generally good, but alot of the equipment breaks frequently. The locker rooms are always clean except for mountains of used towels from time to time. None of the stall doors close properly in the bathroom. There is literally no water pressure in the showers, water just trickles down out of the shower head. Aside from all that, the place is just too crowded. I have a feeling though that for a lot of these people, that's what makes this place so successful, given the crowd that frequents this palce. The staff have always been nice, at times even flirty to me, so I can't complain much there. The trainers are very professional and generally follow proper gym etiquette when they're on the floor with a client, much more so than at any other gym I've been to in nyc. *Update 08/21/06* The water pressure in the showers is amazingly good all of a sudden. I went to take a shower last Saturday and it was like Kramer the final scene in the "No Flow showerhead" Seinfeld episode. I have to admit I need to take back some of what I said in this review about management not caring about the facilities here.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, good looking people

Cons: Too crowded, poor maintenance
