A hidden Diamond under the 3rd Ave. Bridge

Not a place you just stumble upon, the Bruckner Bar & Grill was a shocking, pleasant surprise! With service that is quick and hospitable and food that is refreshingly different for the borough its in. We came for brunch on a saturday and had their Huevos Rancheros and French Toast, both were exceedingly tasty especially paired with $3 bloody mary and mimosa.
We brought our friends for dinner last night, and again we had a blast. The eclectic crowd and diverse music went great with the specialty cocktails (highly recommend the Rosalina and Miami sunset) and top-notch food. We had the fried calamari, Bruckner salad, 10oz. burgers and key lime pie. All for less than $20 per person!!! Great food at Bronx prices- we'll definitely be back.
- Pros: lots of Parking, friendly service, great value
- Cons: Not enough people know about this place (yet)

Great place for private parties, too!

Last month our school hosted a holiday party at Bruckner Bar and Grill. We had a blast! We had a private room in the back which was beautifully decorated. The staff was very attentive. The food was great... the calamari was to die for! I highly recommend it for your next event.
Great food and a great atmosphere

A bit difficult to find, but totally worth it. Everything on the menu is top notch. Unlike many of the restaurants in Manhattan, this one is extremely spacious and the service is great.
Raising the bar for "bar food"
by llaurra at Citysearch
This place is a good find--one of those places you can bring your friends to when you want to impress them with that great undiscovered spot. The food is truly delicious--it goes way beyond the standard wings and nachos from a regular bar. I really recommend the guacamole, Mediterranean platter, any of the salads or sandwiches (I've tried most of them and they are top notch), and the kabob. The variety in the menu ensures there is something for even the pickiest eater in your party. And save room for the desserts, which are also excellent. Service is great, food is great, drinks are creative, and I plan to try the new brunch menu soon. I come from west Manhattan specifically for this restaurant.
- Pros: Food, service, drinks, events
- Cons: Bring an umbrella if you walk from the subway in the rain
Bronx delight

Delicious food, large portions, great prices, friendly service. In a desolate part of town (right off the Bruckner and Major Deegan expressways) but it's worth visiting for the food. It was fairly empty when we went on a Sunday evening--if it were in a different location, I'm sure it would be packed to the gills. Will definitely go again!
- Pros: Food, service, ambience
- Cons: Desolate stretch of town
Elegance meets Urban Pub with a Friendly Twist thrown in for good measure

This is like a "diamond in the rough" find.
In an area that is decidedly "local", this bar / restaurant / backroom offers somewhere to go that has truly good food (and by that, I mean quality: clean AND tasty). With a good size menu, you can enjoy a great burger and other nice dishes in the comfort of a local bar space, or, you can go for the upmarket elegance of a backroom that would suit ANY private function or just a beautiful "mood" dinner for those who appreciate dark leather and dark wood as an accompaniment to their candlelit dinner for two.
I personally appreciated people who come from a variety of backgrounds to serve me my food, as well as someone who can deliver a drink with a wit to follow.
Just a great space with good atmosphere, upmarket casual food and a definite bet that this place will become an institution as the area grows.
- Pros: Food is top-notch, the place is lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed yet friendly.
- Cons: Not the best area in the world! Bit of a "factory" feel surrounding.
Great place to shoot some stick.

Great place to shoot some stick. Awesome mozzarella sticks. Gay-friendly. Tough neighborhood, but convenient for Stamford reverse-commute.
- Pros: Stick shooting
- Cons: Parking

In the quickly developing neighborhood of the "Off 3rd Ave. Bridge" area in the Bronx, sources of entertainment are still sparse. But this bar is surely one of the first establishments to set the tone for the sexy and urban neighborhood this is to become in the next few years.
Somewhat reminiscent of rustic pubs with that good ol' feel in the South Street Seaport or the DUMBO area, the dark-wood interior is moody and sensual. The front room is great for a casual dining, and in the huge back room, you can shoot pool with a drink in hand under extra high ceilings.
- Pros: chill ambience, fair menu, good parking
