Good quality food, but a touch off

We came here for dinner. The reservations were hard to get. The decor was very pleasant and interesting, and the drive from the city alone gave us the feeling of a getaway. All of the products that go into the food are extremely high quality and it shows. That said, the whole thing just didn't tie together well and the prices were extremely high. I am told that we were there on an off night, and perhaps our experience was ruined by the fact that our orders were meat-heavy. However, for the prices that we were paying, I would expect more.

Unbelievable

If you want an INCREDIBLE experience, go to Blue Hill at Stone Barn. From the breathtaking ambiance, to the impeccable service to the mouth watering cuisine....this restaurant is ranks high on the list. I only caution you on the prices. Two course meals (base option) is $65/person. Prices go up from there. But, it was worth every penny.

Dan and David Barber of the West Village's Blue Hill restaurant have created a destination-dining experience on the old Rockefeller estate. The seasonal cuisine features ingredients from the property's working farm, which includes a greenhouse and livestock. Several barns with stone silos dot the property, and meals are served in a rehabbed dairy barn. Dinner is mix-and-match with two-, three- or four-course options.
